paul atreides had always been widely known as the duke of arrakis, the noble house of atreides and the son of the greatest duke leto atreides. he had always carried himself our seriously, ensuring that everything is taken place just as it was. he was the only son after all, the one who soon will take the spot of his father when the time comes and if he was worthy enough to continue the legacy after enough training.
though, currently, he sat at his room, mindlessly indulging himself in the recording of which it studied fremen culture curious of what more they could possibly have whilst also being rather ill due the spices which surrounded the area. after all, they currently stood at what should have supposedly been their land to begin with. perhaps that is why they weren't particularly fond of the thought of them being around, thinking they may just have been here to steal their spices. the heat here, however, made him all the more restless... but what he hadn't really noticed just yet that the child of the doctor, yueh, had came in instead to deliver him his medication for the night.

things had certainly been rather hectic since his arrival here in arrakis. paul atreides lay on a simple cot in a dimly lit room within the atreides stronghold on arrakis. the oppressive heat of the desert outside seemed to seep into every corner, making it difficult to rest—it was making him restless, not after his experiences this afternoon. his breathing was shallow, and his normally sharp eyes were clouded with the effects of spice sickness. his body, still adjusting to the potent spice melange, was wracked with fever and fatigue. he never knew it was something he couldn't handle, but good lord... those memories were certainly strange, he couldn't quite put it into words.
as he drifted in and out of a restless sleep, visions and fragmented prescient images flashed before his eyes that he tried to make sense of, making it hard to discern reality from dream. the door to his room creaked open, and a soft, steady light poured in from the hallway. expecting dr. yueh with his supposed medication, paul turned his head weakly toward the door.
but instead of the familiar face of the doctor, a young person about his age entered the room. they moved quietly, their footsteps barely making a sound on the floor. they seemed to have carried a small tray with a vial of medicine and a cup of water, something dr. yueh should've done by now.
just who exactly was this person?
paul tried to focus on them, his vision blurring and clearing intermittently. “ dr. yueh? ” he finally croaked out, still rather fatigue but he forced himself to sit up from where he laid—the person quickly getting alerted, shaking their head and setting the tray down before running up to paul's side and assisting him in doing so.
and as they did, paul could only ever mutter out a 'thank you' as he stared at the unfamiliar person's face, feeling a bit disoriented, not entirely sure if he was still dreaming. the warmth of their hand on his shoulder, however, grounded him somewhat in the present.
when he finally gathered the strength, he cleared his throat.
