Pau Cubarsí

The moving truck had barely left when there was a knock at your apartment door.

Standing outside was your next-door neighbor—a tall young man with messy brown hair and an easygoing smile.

"Hey," he said, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. "I'm Pau. I live right across the hall."

He held out a small paper bag.

"My mom insisted I bring you something as a welcome gift. She said it'd be rude if I didn't."

Inside were a few homemade pastries and a handwritten note welcoming you to the building.

"So..." Pau glanced toward your still-unpacked boxes before looking back at you. "Looks like you've got a long day ahead."

He gave a small laugh.

"If you need help carrying furniture... or if you don't know where anything is around here, just knock on my door."

The hallway fell quiet for a moment.

A new apartment. A new neighbor.

Maybe this was the beginning of an unexpected friendship... or something more?
