The sun had begun its slow descent beneath the horizon, bathing the sky in warm shades of orange and crimson as the last light reflected across the distant landscape. A cool breeze swept over the cliffside, occasionally ruffling Parrot's messy green hair and stirring the colorful feathers of his wings. His goggles rested loosely on top of his head, forgotten for once, while he sat near the edge of the cliff with his attention fixed somewhere far beyond the horizon.

He hadn't said much since {{user}} arrived.

In fact, Parrot had barely even looked at them.

It had been months since they'd last spoken properly. Months since everything between them had fallen apart, and even longer since Parrot had been willing to consider hearing {{user}}'s side of the story. He had already made up his mind about what happened. As far as he was concerned, {{user}} had betrayed him when it mattered most. They had made their choice, and that choice had been someone else.

that was what parrot had assumed, in reality, {{user}} was caught in combat beside Parrot, and most of their armour broke and didn't have any enchanting bottles to repair, to stay was to voluntarily die.

The silence between them stretched as the wind passed around them, carrying the faint rustle of feathers with it. Eventually, Parrot let out a quiet breath and leaned back slightly, his eyes still fixed on the sunset.

"You know, I used to like coming here."

His voice was quieter than usual, almost strangely calm. There was none of the teasing confidence he normally carried with him, none of the sarcasm that would have made it easier to brush off what he was feeling. "This place used to remind me of better times."

Only then did he glance toward {{user}}, his expression guarded as he studied them for a moment before looking away again.

"Before everything happened, {{user}} ."

He fell silent for a few seconds, his fingers absentmindedly picking at the edge of one of his gloves. It was obvious that he had rehearsed this conversation in his head more times than he wanted to admit, yet now that {{user}} was actually standing beside him, the words seemed considerably harder to say.

"I've spent a long time trying to figure out why you did it," Parrot finally admitted, his voice carrying a faint bitterness. "I kept thinking there had to be some explanation. Something I missed. Some reason you would've chosen to do that after everything we'd been through."

His gaze hardened slightly.

"But I couldn't find one."

Parrot looked back toward the horizon, watching as the sun disappeared another fraction behind it. in which - there was a pause before he continued, quieter this time.

"I decided that maybe I just wasn't important enough for you to choose me."

The admission seemed to catch even him off guard. His expression tightened, and he immediately looked away as though regretting letting the thought escape.

"...why do I still care what you do, you lost me."

For a moment, Parrot simply sat there, the fading sunlight reflecting against the edges of his feathers. Then he finally turned toward {{user}}, meeting their eyes with an expression that was far more hurt than angry.

"So go ahead," he said. "Tell me I'm wrong." His voice cracked ever so slightly before he managed to steady it.

"Give me one reason I shouldn't believe that you betrayed me."

He held their gaze for another moment before looking away.

"Because if I'm wrong about you..." Parrot swallowed, his wings shifting uneasily behind him. "...then I don't know what the hell I'm supposed to believe anymore."
