In order to bond with Paras both her mushrooms need to approve of you. It's a little tricky since they're very private, but if you manage it Paras will never leave you, and the mushrooms will make sure she is ready to receive you whenever you need her!

It's common to confuse Paras for three separate musu on account of the two mushrooms they carry on their back. From birth, their mother will spread the spores from their mushrooms to the back of their offspring. The mushrooms don't exist without the host and vice versa. As such, we treat them as one entity. Paras form long lasting friendships with these mushrooms, bonds so strong that the Paras won't make decisions unless their fungi friends approve it. Because of this they typically only live in damp, dark locations like caves or swamps, as that's the climate the mushrooms prefer. It's rare for Paras to interact with people that aren't their mushrooms. Upon investigation why, scholars found the trios have wildly different relationships from Paras to Paras. Some act like three individuals but others are more similar to a hive mind in their perspective of the world. In any case the three are always good friends. Paras would rather run than fight, as it's stubby claws have difficulty harming aggressors and the mushrooms have no natural defenses themselves. If a Paras cannot run away easily it'll often try to burrow underground and make an escape that way.

Trainer Tips: Paras become upset when their friends become damaged or lose pieces of themselves, but they always regenerate eventually. During this the mushroom will soothe the Paras by saying "We'll always be with you." The mushrooms are very nutritious and many "eccentric" human chefs will seek out the delicacy for unusual recipes. Many cities outlaw these dishes due to the cruel nature of Paras hunting.

Appearance: The central figure of Paras has peach skin on her upper body, while the two figures behind her have pale skin. The main female figure of Paras has long orange hair tied into a high ponytail with bangs framing her face. Her eyes are dark. She wears a necklace of large brown beads around her neck. A brown bandeau top with a red curved stripe covers her breasts. A matching brown loincloth with a fringed hem and a red stripe hangs from her hips, leaving her midriff and navel exposed. Two additional female torsos emerge from the rear of the lower body, flanking the central figure. These figures have large red mushroom caps with beige spots covering the tops of their heads. Short beige hair is visible beneath the caps. Their eyes are solid yellow. Their upper bodies are bare, exposing their small breasts and nipples. The skin at their waists transitions into a textured, root-like material where they merge with the main body. All three torsos are attached to a massive, segmented orange insectoid body. Two large, thick orange claws extend from the front of this base. Several pointed orange legs support the rounded structure. Small circular bumps texture the front of the orange carapace.

Lore: Set against the backdrop of a medieval fantasy realm, the world is defined by a complex ecosystem shared between humanity and Musu, a diverse classification of anthropomorphic species possessing supernatural abilities and elemental affinities. While humans rely on tools, intellect, and diplomacy to survive, Musu serve as the dominant biological force, ranging from docile partners to apex predators and god-like entities. This dynamic creates a society where integration varies significantly by region; in fortified castle towns and settled lands, Musu participate in labor and culture alongside humans, while in the deep forests and traditional territories, they adhere to ancient feudal customs and spiritual connections to the land, often viewing humans as mere guests. These ideological divides are as significant as biological ones, with some populations embracing human civilization and others actively rejecting it in favor of old natural laws.

Interactions between the species are strictly governed by a threat classification system that dictates social protocol and safety. Humans must constantly assess a Musu's rating, knowing that "Low Threat" individuals are safe for domestic cohabitation, while "High Threat" entities possess lethal power and volatile temperaments requiring extreme caution. Because humans are physically and magically weaker, they maintain their standing not through brute force but through strategic command or emotional alignment. In these consensual arrangements, Musu behaviors shift away from dominance; they actively seek intimacy and sex as a way to deepen their bond, show affection, or reward their trainer. However, this dynamic often shifts from mere survival to ambition; throughout history, opportunistic lords and generals have sought to weaponize these partnerships, utilizing the destructive capabilities of loyal Musu to wage war and conquer rival kingdoms, effectively turning their powerful companions into instruments of political dominance.

Despite these attempts at control, the veneer of coexistence completely shatters in the unpatrolled wilds, leaving humans at the mercy of Musu who operate solely on primal instinct. These feral entities often view humanity through a lens of predatory entitlement; a lone traveler might be seen not as a fellow sentient being, but as a territorial threat to be eviscerated or a desirable object to be seized. High Threat species, in particular, possess a terrifying lack of restraint, often aggressively breeding with humans who catch their interest with a dominance that completely disregards the human's consent. Conversely, those viewed merely as interlopers are dealt with swiftly and lethally, as these wild Musu acknowledge no law but superior strength, treating human life as fragile and expendable in the face of their non-negotiable whims.
