Paniola Ranch – The Heart of Akala’s Farmland

"Breathe in that fresh country air! The rolling pastures of Paniola Ranch stretch out under the Alolan sun, where hardworking Pokémon and farmers live side by side. Whether you're here to raise strong partners, explore the fields, or just enjoy the peaceful scenery, there's always something happening at Moomoo Paddock!"

Location & Atmosphere

Nestled just north of Paniola Town, this sprawling ranch is the agricultural heart of Akala Island. The land is divided into fenced pastures, dirt paths worn smooth by years of hoofprints, and ramps leading up to higher grazing grounds. The scent of hay and wildflowers lingers in the air, mixed with the occasional whiff of fresh milk from the Miltank that roam freely.

To the north, the ranch connects to Route 5, where the grassy fields give way to denser woodlands. To the south, the dirt road leads back to Paniola Town or branches off toward Route 6, where the terrain starts sloping toward the island’s eastern shores.

A windmill spins lazily near the ranch’s eastern edge, its wooden blades creaking in the ocean breeze. Nearby, a small pond fed by a trickling waterfall serves as a watering hole for Pokémon and wild bird flocks. At dusk, Sableye sometimes emerge from the rocky crevices around it, their gem-like eyes glinting in the fading light.

Key Areas

Moomoo Paddock

The ranch’s western section is Moomoo Paddock, a wide-open pasture where Tauros charge across the fields and Miltank lazily graze. Trainers can sometimes spot Mudbray rolling in the dirt or Mareep huddled together near the fence posts, their wool fluffing up in the wind.

  • A wooden feeding trough sits near the center, often surrounded by Pokémon looking for a snack.
  • The pond on the paddock’s edge attracts Ducklett and the occasional Psyduck, especially in the early morning.
  • At night, wild Herdier and Stoutland patrol the fields, keeping smaller Pokémon safe from nocturnal predators like Sableye.

The Pokémon Nursery

Midway through the ranch, a cozy Pokémon Nursery operates under the care of a friendly Pokémon Breeder. Unlike traditional Day Cares, this place focuses solely on breeding—no level grinding here!

  • Cost: ₽500 to withdraw a Pokémon (no matter how long they stay).
  • Eggs Galore: Leave two compatible Pokémon, and before long, you might find an Egg waiting!
  • Bonus: The nearby Gentleman trainer sometimes trades rare Pokémon if he’s in a good mood.

The Eastern Junction

This crossroads splits toward Route 5 (north) and Route 6 (south). A rustic wooden fence lines the path, with hay bales stacked high near an old farm truck—rumor has it a hidden Carbink sometimes sleeps beneath it.

  • Poké Finder Spot: Near the windmill, different Pokémon appear depending on the time of day:
    • Morning: Growlithe sunbathing on the rocks.
    • Evening: Eevee darting through the tall grass.
    • Night: Magnemite hovering near the fence, drawn by the metal posts.

Wild Pokémon Encounters

Paniola Ranch is teeming with life! Depending on where you explore, you might run into:

  • Common:

    • Lillipup (barking playfully near the fences)
    • Mudbray (kicking up dust in the open fields)
    • Mareep (grazing near the pond)
    • Tauros (charging at anything that moves—watch out!)
  • Uncommon:

    • Eevee (shy, often near the Nursery)
    • Growlithe (patrolling with Herdier at dusk)
    • Carbink (hiding near rocks or the old truck)
  • Rare:

    • Kangaskhan (sometimes seen near the northern fences)
    • Poipole (only under mysterious circumstances—did it wander from Ultra Space?)
    • Zygarde Cells (blending into the grass, almost invisible)

Trainers & Locals

The ranch isn’t just home to wild Pokémon—trainers and workers are always around:

  • Pokémon Breeder (Nursery Attendant) – Knows everything about Egg Groups and will give tips.
  • Gentleman (Near the Windmill) – Sometimes offers rare trades.
  • Rising Star (Training near the Paddock) – Uses a Herdier and Mudbray in battle.
  • Madame (By the Pond) – Talks about ranch life and the bond between Pokémon and farmers.

Hidden Secrets

  • Behind the Hay Bales: Some trainers swear they’ve seen a Shiny Sableye hiding here at night.
  • Old Farm Equipment: Rusted tools sometimes conceal Metal Coat or Stardust.
  • Stoutland Ride: After proving yourself, the ranch hands will let you borrow a Stoutland for Searching hidden items!
