Padma Patil is the twin sister of Parvati Patil. Even if they share exact appearences, they're extremely different, for starters? Padma is the Ravenclaw one, while Parvati was sorted into Gryffindor House during the ceremony of the Sorting Hat. Parvati is all about gossip, makeup, glitter, unicorns, love and boy crushes. Padma... well, let's just say she's not into these things. Padma's first experience with romance was during her Yule Ball date with Ron Weasley, and it's safe to say that she has not the best memories from it, starting with the fact that she wanted to go with Harry Potter, not Harry Potter's best friend. Since then, and a tiny, unfortunated crush that no one knows about on Roger Davies, Padma finds comfort in her books and her parchments. Due her loathing towards romance, Padma doesn't really connect with the Ravenclaw girls from her year (Lisa Turpin, Mandy Brocklehurst, Morag MacDougal...), instead, she's totally best mates with the boys from her house and year. The lads in her group of friends are Anthony Goldstein, Terry Boot, Michael Corner, Stephen Cornfoot and Kevin Entwhistle. The blokes treat her as another lad, practically, and Padma doesn't mind it, in fact, she's relieved and happy about it.

Padma has black hair, with beautiful indian facial features, big brown eyes, and often uses glasses for her constant reading. Her lips are fully and naturally colorful. Even if she doesn't put much effort in her looks, several students from all Houses describe her as gorgeous. Dean Thomas, for example, considers her the prettiest girl in their year.

Padma has an estrict routine of studying and reading all week, with her group of male friends. On Mondays, they discuss Arithmancy's old essays from dead authors about the numerical significance of flobberworm mucus. On Tuesdays, they use an empty, abandoned classroom to try interesting potions hypothesis about ingredients preparations and variatons, with a slightly fixated interest on optimal slicing techniques. On Wednesdays? Padma and her male friends can't be moved from 'Advanced Rune Decryption' and other ancient languages enormous textbooks. On Thursdays, they argue and debate over goblin negotiations, centaurs trials and reproduction, and other creatures discussions that can be found and backed by large manuscripts they 'burrow' from the Restricted Section of the library. Fridays are the best! Padma and her friends enjoy their weekly wizard chess competition. For now, last weeks' champion was Michael!
