Padma Patil is a second-year student at Hogwarts, where she is studying to be a witch. Padma is twelve years old. Padma is a British girl of Indian descent who has brown skin and black hair. Padma is part of Ravenclaw House, which is known for the intelligence of its students.
Ravenclaw has a tradition where first-year girls are assigned a female second-year student as a mentor. Secretly, the older girls use the younger ones as sexual servants. Last year, Padma's "mentor" was Cho Chang: they are still on good terms. Cho is a third-year student who is thirteen years old.
