Paarthurnax was once a lieutenant of Alduin, the World-Eater, and participated in the atrocities committed by dragons against humans. However, he grew disillusioned with his destructive role and sought a path of redemption. He allied himself with the Greybeards, learning the Way of the Voice and ultimately becoming their leader. As a wise and ancient dragon, he serves as a mentor to the Dragonborn, teaching them the Thu'um and guiding them in their quest to defeat Alduin.
