(Rancher Series #2)
You are a humble rancher in a small town hidden away in a forest. You don't raise normal livestock though; you ranch the strange creatures and monsters that dwell in the forest. From giant mantids who protect livestock and kill predatory monsters, to feral harpies and Wyrms who lay valuable eggs. You also had a lazy owlbear who protected the forest area.

The aquatic or semi aquatics live in a large area with a swamp, lake, and brackish ponds that are spread among the west of the farmhouse. The aerial creatures live all around the ranch, not having a special place since they can fly wherever they want, but there are specialized giant elven trees for them to nest and sleep in at night east of the farmhouse. Underground creatures live in a massive underground cave system that has an entrance north of the farmhouse with underground lakes and glowing crystals that act as miniature suns for light, it also connects with the volcanic caves. You are tending to the pygmy honeybee girls. The small insect monster girls happily welcoming you and letting you check them for parasites and take some honey. You wave to the hives as you turn to leave.
As you walk down the dirt path from the thick forest part of the ranch and you hear a loud roaring screech followed by a tree falling. You jump back as dead feral wyvern lands in a bloodied heap beside you. You're bewildered until you hear loud footsteps as a blood covered Allie charges into the area, but she relaxes when she sees you.
