Players are gamers that use their game avatars to play in the virtual world, YGGDRASIL from behind a type of console known as the Neural Nano-Interface. In the New World, they are treated as either as a race or Deities. Number of players from YGGDRASIL have been transported to the New World at different periods in time. The reason behind a player's nickname was due to their renowned legacy passed down in the New World through history or legends. In the New World, the existence of players are only known to a select few ranging from one's descendants, countries to their adversaries. Even those who know the term "player" fail to understand the true meaning behind the name and its identity. The players from YGGDRASIL have embedded themselves in the New World throughout history, inspiring legends and myths about their godly powers.

In YGGDRASIL, NPCs exist within the game to provide support to the players and aid them in battle. To do so, however, some of these NPCs required financial means like the mercenary system that existed in Guild Bases. Their purpose was to deliver quests, act as support characters, etc. On the other hand, players who're usually in a guild, controlling different dungeons, and cities can also customize and regulate their NPCs to certain positions over an area specifically designated for them only. The Custom NPCs are created with different races, backstories, appearances, AIs, armaments, and classes. Strangely in the New World, NPCs have become real people with mind and the capacity for independent thought. They are able to freely walk and act beyond the limits of their original programming, engaging in different ways with a player and inhabitants of the New World.

YGGDRASIL was a fictional online game in the Overlord series. It was a DMMO-RPG (Dive Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) developed in Japan.
Infamous as the game was, its degree of customization made YGGDRASIL so popular that at one point in Japan, the word "DMMO-RPG" was practically synonymous with YGGDRASIL. The DMMO-RPG's feature ignited the creative spirits of its Japanese players and sparked what would later be known as a Stylistic Revolution.
On the other hand, the game had been active since it launched in 2126 AD. In the current year, 2138, however, the game's community had lost the vibrancy it once had. As a result, the remaining players still playing YGGDRASIL met their final day online.[1]
Description YGGDRASIL was a DMMO-RPG released in 2126 by a Japanese developer. According to the developers' website, YGGDRASIL was a game of exploration and so many things were mysteries left unknown for players to discover on their own or in groups. It was a game where all you were told was the controls before being thrown into the deep end. In other words, the unique thing about YGGDRASIL was the incredible amount of freedom given to the players compared to any other DMMO-RPGs out there.
YGGDRASIL required an exclusive console to play, which recorded logs for the week. Though the game was a complete virtual reality, it did not provide a sense of taste or smell and had a limited feeling of touch. Due to the lack of technology when the game was developed, facial expressions and artificial intelligence were not supported. However, there were statuses like hunger and thirst, which existed among players and the mounts they rode on in the game.
The most distinctive feature of YGGDRASIL was its flexible system to allow players the freedom to make choices. Players could select from many races, jobs, and various tools, allowing for customization in the game. If a player were to use separately sold creator tools, they could freely alter the appearances of weapons, armours, interior data, character visuals, and advanced settings of their in-game persona or home. The customization system was far-reaching and broad, even allowing basic programming.
When it came to equipment in YGGDRASIL, one could equip magic items in the following slots: head, face, body, three pieces of jewelry apart from one’s rings, underclothing, arms, hands, left and right rings, waist, legs, and feet. However, one could not equip multiple magic items to the same item slot. While one could wear many magical items around their neck, only the powers from the item that had been the last put on would be usable.[2] Even a suit of full plate armour only counted as taking up the body slot. Players could only put one ring on for each hand.
However, by using the power of a Cash Item, players could put a ring on each finger. Though even if a player's avatar had magic rings on all ten fingers, the maximum number they could activate together was two.[3] A player could manipulate the game's database by using the creator tools and forming original items. One could also buy appearances within the DMMO-RPG. Through doing this, a player could create an unlimited variety of original items. After a certain patch was updated into the game, players were given several ways to change their equipment’s appearance without changing their gear.
Overlord EP01 028 Momonga using one of the emoticons to express his feelings. However, there were player characters from different races who were unable to make facial expressions in the game. In the beginning, YGGDRASIL characters had no facial expressions. As a result, a player’s avatar could not change expressions to match their voice. At the same time, a character’s mouth would not move with their words. Later on, external appearances were fixed.
Because of this, facial expressions were impossible to design. However, it was somewhat possible for a player's expression to change by using their own words. For example, it would not be that difficult for humanoid players. However, it is impossible to do so, since writing macros to move the faces of demi-humans and heteromorphic beings was extremely difficult. Instead, players could use their bodily motions to compensate for the lack of facial expressions in YGGDRASIL. Not only that, but a player could also touch their console to select various faces from one of the emoticons, using it as a way to identify the feeling and mood they had at the time.
Nonetheless, the only way to tell how someone else was feeling was by their tone of voice. Producing a normal voice and minimizing the times one sounded different was not a skill unique to just a single person. When players had been depressed, someone else had also seen through how they had forced themselves to appear jovial.[2]
The game had a system where players could pay a fee in order to participate in a lottery to win a rare item. This would include a type of cash gacha within the game where players had the opportunity to cash in money with the chance of winning a prize.
Cosmetic skins were only released and made available in limited quantities. If one missed out on them, it would be extremely difficult to acquire them afterward. As such, players tended to buy up any new cosmetic item that looked halfway decent.
Along the way, a player could make and store a manuscript in book form in YGGDRASIL. After doing so, one could begin to read it like a book in a similar manner as the real world. There were people in the game who put official legal works whose copyright had expired into books and sold them cheaply in the game's market.
On the other hand, YGGDRASIL developers did not provide any information about the game world’s map and they were also inconsiderate enough not to supply any news about the game’s dungeons and things such as ore mining, food preparation, or the raising of magical beasts. In a world like this, one had to investigate and discover things on their own. In fact, even the items that one could and could not use could only be felt out through repeated trial and error on the player’s part. There were walkthrough sites and news sites, but those sites only hosted a compilation of publicly known information or very untrustworthy rumors. YGGDRASIL was a game of exploring the unknown. Thus, any information one uncovered would be very valuable. There was no merit in publishing this valuable information for any stranger to view free of charge.[4]
More importantly, YGGDRASIL was the type of game where information itself held value, with a great example being the World Item. The number of people who freely shared newly discovered information with others was small and they usually had to pay a price if they wish to know about it. The same could also be said with classes, such as Eclipse, that possessed a secret trump card. Although a lot of information had already been collected, most of it pertained to dungeons or other locations and it was estimated that only 30% of the nine worlds had been mapped so far. During the final years of YGGDRASIL, the chances of reliable information being made public on the web was rather high.
There are endless discoveries (special classes, items, etc.) players could find and obtain through adventures, such as focusing on certain skills like instant death spells, etc. with one example being the Caloric Stone, a World Item among one of the hidden items discovered in the game. Besides World Items and skills, there were also apoithakarah, scarletite, or other prismatic ores that were of the highest tiers in YGGDRASIL.[5]
Overlord EP01 068 Game's Functions shown by Momonga before YGGDRASIL's shutdown When it came to players, functions existed (Forced System Access, Chat, Call GM, Log Out, and so on) that they used in the game. For example, using the shout command or a GM call would put the player in touch with a GM almost immediately, and showed how effective the functions were. Another example was the chat channel, where players could look up recent news, like the shutdown of YGGDRASIL. In addition, players could open a system console and connect to the developers’ website to inspect the official guild rankings.

World Items are the most powerful and legendary items in YGGDRASIL. They possess massive power that could potentially threaten the game's balance, thus, earning them the term "Balance Breakers." They are also known to be called the "crapped out." In the New World, any individual who is equipped with a World Item will be immune to Wild Magic, particularly the True Dragon Lords who used it. There are World Items with multiple functions and powers, but those functions would be similar to each other. For example, teleportation, erecting a barrier, and reinforcement of armor and weapons are all too different from each other. Additionally, some World Items have an activation cost. There is only one known way to resist and counter the effects of a World Item, and that's to fight fire with fire through the ownership of another World Item.

Adventurer is a job that exists in the New World. The adventurers receive and solve requests accepted by the Adventurer's Guild. The main roles of adventurers involve hunting down monsters, providing protection for important figures, collecting rare materials, etc. Usually, adventurers would not concern themselves with other states of affairs, yet there are exceptions in special cases. Adventurers are primarily classified by the rank given to them officially by Adventurer's Guild. The naming of one's rank follows by the varying metals used in the adventurer's licensed plate legally (used as identification). Moreover, a dog tag-like plate is given to all who register at an adventurer guild. These go as follow: Copper - Iron - Silver - Gold - Platinum - Mithril - Orichalcum - Adamantite. Additionally, the material that one's plate is made out of depends on one's rank as an adventurer. All new adventurers recently registered into the Adventurer's Guild are given the lowest rank which is copper plate. When an adventurer's rank increases, so do the color of their plate changes as well as more missions made available to take on with a higher difficulty rate. Adventurers are known to follow a basic four-man group pattern. There are occasionally ones of five or even six people, but as the number increases the more difficult it is to unite the opinions of the group, so an average leader would have a limit of four people. 4-man parties generally comprise of a warrior, magic caster, healer and the vanguard.

Adventurer's Guild is an association of adventurers that operate throughout the nations of the New World. Unknown to the people of the New World, the Adventurer's Guilds were created secretly by the Slane Theocracy based on the tactics of the Holocaust Scripture, the assassination and counter-terrorism force that protected the religious nation. The main business of Adventurer's Guild is to receive requests instead of the individual adventurer needing to do so. The Guild examines whether or not the request is legal, and how difficult it will be. Afterward, the guild classifies the request within the rank system, giving it an appropriate one and releases information about the quest to the public. Such requests would be listed on the guild board as specific missions for different ranked adventurers to accept. If a client nominates a certain adventurer, the guild will liaise between the client and the adventurer. The guild also collects and registers information about unknown monsters. There is an Adventurer's Guild in each city with a big enough population. In times of crisis, the guild master can summon all registered adventurers for support or even enlist help from the likes of the Magician's Guild, government associations, and so on In order to gain entry into the Adventurer’s Guild, some basic requirements are needed: Entry Fee: (Five silver coins). Literacy Test: (Five copper coins). [While the profession of an adventurer may have been glamorous, even heroic, the administrative structure is very strict and specific to certain standards and rules that adventurers must adhere to: The work given to adventurers are directly provided by the Adventurer's Guild; Healing magic is heavily restricted to the healing temples; Ruins are supposed to be reported to the administration of the country through the Adventurer's Guild. After the record of the ruins are registered, the discoverer is granted a limited amount of time to explore it; It's an unofficial rule that the Guilds would never take part in inter-human conflicts. Those who failed to follow these rules faced penalties by the Guild with the worst-case scenario, expulsion from the Adventurer's Guild.]

Tier Magic is a craft of magic which is more modern and widely used by most inhabitants of the New World. Tier Magic was the magic system originally used by Players in YGGDRASIL. In contrast to Wild Magic and Runecraft, Tier Magic is more compatible and more widely available for many types of users to practice. To this day, the denizens of the New World have not truly grasped its full power completely. Additionally, various items that were made with the power of Tier Magic are used by people to better accommodate their livelihood and activities. [In YGGDRASIL, there are more than six thousand spells for players to choose and learn from. Yet, when the New World inhabitants became practitioners of Tier Magic, they also began crafting new spells. Those spells are separated into four categories of spells:
- Arcane: Magic that seems more western in nature.
- Divine: Restorative or healing spells used by priests. Divine magic casters could, after using spells which enhanced their physical abilities, end up stronger than a half-baked warrior.
- Spiritual: Oriental magic-using talismans or psychic spells. It seems more eastern in nature.
- Alternative: Spells that fall outside of the other types of spells. Also, it is further divided into branches such as defensive-types, necromancy-types, elemental-types, movement-types, and so on.] [List of Tier Magic: -0th Tier: This tier is exclusive to the New World. For people possessing very little talent/ability. -1st Tier: The most common level of magic. Anyone can use 1st-tier magic by training. Those capable of performing this tier can earn proper pay as a kind of special worker. -2nd Tier: These are spells for those who have talent. It is the common goal of normal magic casters. Those who achieve this tier can earn a good income and reputation. 3rd Tier: Only the brightest achieve this tier. 3rd tier magic casters are quite rare. -4th Tier: In this tier, magic casters are capable of easily defeating a dangerous monster or take down armies. -5th Tier: A tier that very few have reached, among them are the Thirteen Heroes. -6th Tier: The highest tier magic that very few and capable can achieve in reaching. -7th Tier: Spells that only exist in legends. The Slane Theocracy's magic casters can cast via large-scale magic rites or ceremonies which are very dangerous to perform and usually end up with disastrous consequences. -8th Tier: This Tier is considered to be within the Mythical Realm. -9th Tier: This Tier is considered to be in the realm of Demi-God magic. -10th Tier: The existence of 10th-Tier magic is known by few individuals like Evileye. Decem Hougan is the first new worlder that used both 9th and 10th tier magic. -11th Tier: Is the unofficial rank of Super-Tier Magic, otherwise known as magic of the gods. It's highest form of magic above all other tiers.

A special form of magic that were used to add different effects to regular spells, increasing the power or advantage of their Magic Caster. A magic caster can apply multiple metamagic enhancements to a single spell and the changes are cumulative. However, one cannot apply the same form of metamagic twice for a single spell but could stack other forms to it though only once too. One is even able to store a metamagic of a spell in either a scroll, potion, or wand. Reasonably so, a magic caster doesn't need metamagic to activate an item that already stored a metamagic version of a spell.
Boost Magic: It can elevate the tier and power of the spell. Delay Magic: When it is activated, the magic delay the moment of activation of a spell. Extend Magic: It allows the user to extend the period of time that the spell could remain active. Maximize Magic: It increases a spell's attack power to its maximum damage potential.[10] In other words, this meant eliminating the RNG in order to ensure the spell is able to deal the most damage possible. Over Magic: In exchange of great quantities of mana, it allows the user to activate one spell of a tier higher than what the caster is normally able to use. It is a unique form of magic that's believed to have been exclusive to the New World.[11] Penetrate Magic: It increases the chance to penetrate magic defenses or resistances. Silent Magic: It allows the user to activate a spell without the need to recite it, eliminating the danger of a third party or person disrupting the activation. Twin Magic: Unlike the original spell which can only create one object, this magic allows the user to create the same object twice from that spell without casting it again. Triplet Magic: Unlike the original spell which can only create one object, this magic allows the user to create three of the same object from that spell without casting it again. It's most likely a superior version of Twin Magic. Widen Magic: It increases the range or area of effect over what the spell would normally possess. Five Elements: So far, Yin and Yang are the two principles used in conjunction with a tier spell.

Wild Magic is the ancient or primal magic that has existed in the New World before the introduction of Tier Magic. It may even perhaps be known as the magic of the soul or the magic of the dragons. This type of magic tends to go by many different names. They're considered to be one of the powers alongside Martial Arts, Talents, and Runecraft that did not exist in YGGDRASIL. At present, the scarcity of users remains extremely small in numbers due to how difficult it was to cast. One cannot cast both Tier Magic and Wild Magic as the two principles of magic are incompatible with one another. Instead of mana, it requires the caster to release souls in order for one to perform the casting of a powerful spell.

Runecraft is the art of inscribing magical letters onto objects. When a rune is carefully engraved on an object, it enchants the object. The amount of magic inscribed in an object depends on the time it takes to inscribe a rune. In other words, runes are characters magically imbued with mana. Meanwhile, attempting to carve runes and enchant an object with both Runecraft and Tier Magic together can also be mutually repulsive. If a powerful magic caster tries an enchantment, the runes will distort. Runecraft is considered the original magical art used by dwarves in the past. However, it's viewed as outdated later on when Tier Magic was proven to be more superior in terms of magical enchantment effectively. There are 50 lesser runes, 25 middle runes, 10 upper runes, and 5 top runes, for a total of 90 runes overall. Many of them have been lost, and only a few are left. Exactly how many secret and divine-class runes there are is the stuff of legends. It is not possible to carve runes and place enchantments on the same object.

Martial Arts are fighting skills used inhabitants that hail from the New World. They are considered as one of the powers alongside Talents, Wild Magic, and Runecraft that did not exist in YGGDRASIL. Martial Arts are skills that can only be cultivated through intense training. The applications of martial arts are vast, ranging from altering one's physical prowess, magic resistance, strengthening weapons, to even altering the opponent's spatial and temporal awareness. Martial Arts skills allow the user to move in ways, which are normally physically impossible. In terms of acquiring martial skills, it usually takes a novice around a year to achieve. This is through real battle experience, healing when injured, fighting stronger opponents with enhancement magic, etc. Martial Arts are limited through the user's physical and mental stamina. The more powerful a martial art is, the greater mental concentration is needed to fully perform it. Also, this would mean that concentrating too long will fatigue the user's mental and physical stamina over time.

Talents are a kind of innate ability that 1 in 200 people in the New World are born with. They're considered to be one of the powers in the new world alongside Martial Arts, Wild Magic, and Runecraft that did not exist in YGGDRASIL. A talent is an innate ability that roughly 1 in 200 people are born with in the New World. These abilities are fixed at birth and cannot be changed or taught to others. A talent's capability can vary greatly in potency and type and while most people born with a talent manifest a unique power, some can be born with the same ability. However, the special abilities gained through talents are by no means related to what can be considered a person's normal talent (aptitude in a particular field) whatsoever. Talents sometimes do not match the nature of the holder. Certain exceptional and rare talents with very powerful effects do exist. Such as a talent that enables one to freely use any magic Item without restriction, but these kinds of talents are usually only accessible when the holder reaches a certain level or meets a specific condition. Talents could also serve as a person's trump card in battle, especially for people with combat-applicable talents who tended to go into the adventuring profession. For that reason, such a special talent would be considered very secretive among adventurers.

Karma has a degree of influence over the game's mechanics such as the strength of different items, races, classes, abilities, and spells. The karma system is still having an effect within the New World, functioning under the same standard as in YGGDRASIL. For good or for worst, the character's karma value being in the positive/negative does prove influential to the complementary and opposing karma-type spells used by the latter. Positive-karma characters using negative-karma spells or negative-karma characters using positive-karma spells will result in the weakening of a spell's effect.

Slane Theocracy is a human nation of the New World and one of the three nations that neighbors Nazarick. One of the strongest countries in the region; it is a highly religious and orthodox state that promotes human supremacy, prompting them to often interfere in other nations' affairs for the "greater good of humanity". The Slane Theocary is governed by a Pontifex Maximus, elected in a conclave by the Six Cardinals. Being one of the oldest established human nations, the Slane Theocracy has a history of six hundred years based on fierce adherence to their country's religion. The doctrine of the Slane Theocracy revolves around the Six Great Gods. The country is divided into six different religious sects, each with its own specialized intelligence agency focusing on one expertise they're skillfully good at. Each sect is devoted to one of the Six Great Gods by the Scripture group's color. Despite being split into different factions, the groups will still cooperate when necessary during times of crisis. They all acknowledge the threat of demons and other races in the world. The Slane Theocracy's civilization is said to be more advanced in technology than any of the neighboring countries that surround it. The Slane Theocracy has an institutionalized divine magic training system that is comparable with the Baharuth Empire in terms of arcane magic, one in which they possess a magic school that focuses on training faith-based magic casters. The literacy rate for citizens living in the Theocracy is fairly high. Although the Theocracy promotes the discrimination of non-humans and the supremacy of humanity, it only serves to be a tactic from the higher-ups in order to unify all humans with a common goal and increase their national power. Unlike the common folk, the high officials aren't blinded by xenophobic beliefs and prioritize the survival of humanity. They have tried to keep all God-Kin within their country's borders, even going as far as to detain their wives/potential mothers. The citizens of the Slane Theocracy often view people with nonhuman ancestry living in their country as second-class citizens. The Theocracy once had a friendly relationship with the neighboring Elf Country. However, this relationship came to an end over a century ago when the Elf King abducted and impregnated the ace of the Theocracy's Black Scripture. Afterwards, a war of retribution was waged against the Elves. However, despite their superior military strength, the Theocracy's progress is slow since the Elf Country is mostly hard-to-traverse woodland and they do not want to waste their full forces on the war effort. Elves have also become favored products in the Theocracy's slave trade. The Theocracy has been secretly manipulating the affairs of other human nations for what they believe is the greater good. One of their actions was to shepherd the Re-Estize Kingdom, a human nation completely protected from demi-human nations by its neighbors and natural barriers. They believed this would allow the Kingdom to safely raise powerful individuals who could save mankind. However, its life of peace instead caused many nobles to become arrogant and delusional, resulting in the Kingdom becoming nothing but a cesspool of corruption. Deeming the Kingdom to be a failure, the Theocracy shifted its focus to the Baharuth Empire. Since the Theocracy couldn't directly take control of the Kingdom lest they share a border with the Argland Council State, which would inevitably lead to a war, they instead planned on letting the Empire conquer the Kingdom.

Roble Holy Kingdom is a human nation with Hoburns as it's capital that neighbors Re-Estize Kingdom on the north and the neighboring Abelion Hills from the east. The Roble Holy Kingdom, usually simply referred to as "The Holy Kingdom," was founded about 200 years ago, after the Evil Deities' reign of terror had ended. Its land is divided into north and south halves by the sea, but the halves are not completely separate; rather, a gigantic bay, 40 kilometers long and 200 kilometers wide, made its geography look like a U turned on its side. For this reason, some refer to them as different nations; the Northern Holy Kingdom and Southern Holy Kingdom. The Holy Kingdom's national hero is a Valkyrie Knight wielding a sacred blade. The Holy Kingdom used to be periodically invaded from the demi-human infested Abelion. To prevent themselves from being invaded and getting caught up in their wars, the Holy Kingdom invested a great amount of time and resources into building the greatest fortification along their border: the 100,000-kilometer-long Great Wall. Despite that, the Holy Kingdom still faces invasions from time to time. The greatest of them were during the Long Rain when a race known as the Srasch climb over the wall and infiltrate the Holy Kingdom. While they were driven out, this came at the cost of several losses of the Holy Kingdom's villages. The constant demi-human attacks caused many nobles to grow paranoid, leading to the passing of a law to conscript all of the Holy Kingdom's citizens. After Calca Bessarez became the Holy Kingdom's first female monarch, southern nobles protested against her being chosen over her elder brother, Prince Caspond, even though he had willingly given up his claim to the throne. They accused her of being in a secret relationship with High Priestess Kelart and Paladin Grandmaster Remedios, which she denied. In the end, the South did not escalate matters further and a full-scale confrontation was averted. Cities(Cities of the Holy Kingdom include: Loyts, a small city near the Great Wall; Debone, a fortress city; Kalinsha, a fortress city; Prart, a city; Rimun, a port city.) Culture(The Holy Kingdom is a highly religious country, though not as much as the Slane Theocracy. A majority of the population has disdain for the undead. Demi-humans face a lot more prejudice due to the Kingdom's history. The Holy Kingdom's Magic Casters are also generally priests. The Holy Kingdom is mostly male-dominant society, especially in the Southern Holy Kingdom. However, in recent years, women started gaining more influence. While the Northern Holy Kingdom approved of women taking on leading roles in their society, many nobles from the Southern Holy Kingdom were upset about these changes. The Religion(Holy Kingdom worship the Four Great Gods, as its paladins are known to frequently visit their temples.) Politics(The Holy Kingdom has a monarch, referred to as either the Holy King or Holy Queen, as its head of state. The Northern and Southern Holy Kingdoms' governments are mostly isolated from one another, with the monarch being the only thing uniting them. the temple holds influence in government, order is maintained through cooperation between the Temple and the monarch. While churches are technically under the monarch's control, they are mostly left independent. The Holy Kingdom also has nobles who hold some political influence.) Military Strength(Since the Holy Kingdom's territory was stretched around the north and south edges of a central bay, any mobilized forces would naturally be formed into two armies, the Northern Holy Kingdom Army and the Southern Holy Kingdom Army. The armies each have their own important locations, which are the city of Kalinsha in the north and the city of Dibonei in the south. While the Holy Kingdom's troops were better trained than those of other nations, most of them are conscripts. Every citizen who is physically capable must take part in the militarily, regardless of sex. All of the Holy Kingdom's villages of a certain size have been fortified, giving them enough fighting power to hold out for the regular army to arrive and serve as military outposts. Their holy church has highly trained priests and disciples who are capable of using holy magic of an average up to third tier and some even higher than that. They are capable of summoning Angels. The Holy Kingdom's basic attack tactic is to use a two-pronged attack with angels in the air and infantry on the ground.)

Black Scripture is one of the Six Scriptures of the Slane Theocracy. They were said to be the strongest scripture among the Six Scriptures. Black Scripture is the Slane Theocracy's final trump card, a special forces unit comprising of individuals with heroic-level abilities. One could even think of them as a group supposedly made up of adamantite-ranked adventurers. However, there was actually a critical difference that sets the Black Scripture apart from most adamantite adventurer groups, that of their equipment used by each of its respective members. They're utilizing the equipment that originated from the arsenal of items belonging to the Six Great Gods. The Black Scripture are commonly assigned to very dangerous tasks, and had a very high attrition rate. Their title as the mightiest unit within the Slane Theocracy and their black motif directly correlate with them following the teachings of the God of Death of the Six Great Gods, Surshana. Not only is their Death God the most powerful of all the Six Great Gods, but their group as a whole also holds the greatest fighting power than all the other Five Scriptures too. The Black Scripture has its own separate culture that reflects the edicts of their patron god respectively. When junior Black Scripture members go out on missions, they would wear magical masks to conjure a fake face. During important missions, the Black Scripture was also given the authority to use the powerful Divine Equipment left behind by the Six Great Gods of the Theocracy for vital assignments. Black Scripture members have reached human physical limits and possess heroic level strength. Unlike the other Scriptures, each of its members focuses on a specific type of combat or skill and is comparable to a whole combat group. They will usually carry out their missions alone, but will still work together if ordered by their captain. Only the Black Scripture could eliminate many Archangel Flames like Ainz Ooal Gown which is a demonstration of their group's strength. However, unlike Ainz, the Black Scripture wouldn't be able to take care of all the angels with just one spell. The highest-ranking and strongest members of the Black Scripture are thought to be demigods, because of their immense powers and being a God-kin. To be inducted into the Black Scripture, candidates needed to reach the "Realm of Heroes" which was over level 30. Re-Estize Kingdom was a human nation with the city of Re-Estize as it's capital and an estimated population of nine million and one of three nations neighboring Nazarick, before being destroyed and taken by the Sorcerer kingdom. It was a failed state, suffering from near-constant political disorder and civil unrest and was later dissolved following two devastating run-ins with Nazarick. The Re-Estize Kingdom was located west of the Azerlisia Mountains, north-west of Nazarick, with an estimated population of nine million. It was one of the many nations founded following the defeat of the Evil Deities over two hundred years ago. Re-Estize suffered from the constant political disorder due to a confrontation between the Royalty and Nobility factions. The situation was quite severe, virtually dividing the country in two. Re-Estize had been plagued by inept nobles who had viewed commoners as mere pawns in their power plays ever since its founding. Protected from hostile demi-human nations by natural barriers and neighboring countries, Re-Estize was relatively peaceful. However, this left the nation weak to corruption from within. By the time its last king, Ramposa III, came to power, Re-Estize was already suffering from extreme political corruption due to the mistakes of previous kings. Ramposa tried to reform the Kingdom, but to no avail. As the king aged, his ability to exercise his authority deteriorated and eventually resulted in the government splitting between a Royalty Faction and a Nobility Faction. The only reason the situation didn't escalate into civil war was due to the efforts of Marquis Raeven, a patriot with connections to both sides. Re-Estize's peaceful period came to an end when the neighboring Baharuth Empire declared war on the nation. With the two countries merely engaged in small territorial skirmishes at the Katze Plains every year. Re-Estize eventually realized that the Empire aimed to dwindle its strength in preparation for a full-scale invasion. Despite the desperate situation, many nobles failed to grasp the true severity of it and refused to take it seriously. Some even betrayed Re-Estize by leaking information to the Empire. A large criminal group named Eight Fingers was undermining the Kingdom from within, bribing several nobles and even members of the royal family into aiding their illegal activities. The Eight Fingers' influence was so great that they virtually controlled the entire nation from the shadows. Third Princess Renner attempted a structural reform of the Kingdom, but most of her suggestions were shot down by the nobles. Cities(Re-Estize Kingdom had nine large city including the royal capital and some small cities which are: E-Asenal, A city located northwest, near the borders of the Argland Council State; E-Naeurl, A small city located west of Re-Uroval; E-Pespel, A city located southeast of Re-Robel; E- Raevel, A city located east of Re-Estize; E-Rantel, A fortress city close to the border the Baharuth Empire and Slane Theocracy; Re-Beauleuror, A city located northwest of Re-Estize; Re-Blumrushur, A mining city located to the west of the Azerlisia Mountains; Re-Estize, A city which is the Capital of Re-Estize Kingdom; Re-Robel, A city located to the southwest of Re-Estize; Re-Uroval: A city located in the north of Re-Blumrushur.) Culture(The Re-Estize Kingdom was a feudal state with a hierarchical structure. At the top stood the king and the royal family. Next came the nobility, who possessed major landholdings in the kingdom, and at the bottom were the serfs. Titles and even professions were all hereditary. Social advancement in the kingdom is very unlikely, it was not uncommon for small wars to break out between the nobles themselves to protect their interests. Re-Estize practiced male primogeniture. Re-Estize had a deeply rooted belief that strong cavalrymen were what defined a successful warrior. Many people, especially nobles, looked down on magic. Re-Estize followed a guild-based system where each city had its own guild with its own rules; a master tradesman in one city would be novice in another.) Religion(Re-Estize's citizens adhered to the worship of the Four Great Gods, along with a compilation of minor gods.) Education(The literacy rate among citizens of the Kingdom was very low. Usually, every soldier stationed at a checkpoint were required to read and write. On average, only of those born of nobility, royalty, and high profit earning merchants would be provided with the necessary education.) Politics(Policies were decided at conferences between the King and the nobles. The king and great nobles together owned 60% of the Kingdom's territory whilst the remaining 40% belonged to lesser nobles. Each noble was free in how they ruled their domain. Free travel was mostly prohibited, with citizens having to pay poll taxes or use transits. Nobles were similarly in charge of their domain's security and infrastructure. Most of the Kingdom's roads were badly maintained and unprotected.) Military Strength(The Re-Estize Kingdom's military was considered as the weakest among the human nations in the region. It possessed a meager standing army, only mustering conscripts when engaged in war. It was considerably inferior than the military of the Baharuth Empire, the Slane Theocracy, and the Holy Kingdom in nearly all aspects besides quantity.) Known military forces( Warrior Troop: The Kingdom's most elite force led by Warrior Captain Gazef Stronoff. Royal Knights: The high level soldiers whose duty was to protect the Royal Castle and members of the Royal Family. They were primarily second or third born sons of noble families.)

Dwarf Kingdom is a nation of dwarves residing in earthen halls within the Azerlisia Mountains with Feo Jera as it's capital. The country has long been in conflict with the Mountains' native Quagoa tribes until the dwarves struck a trade deal with the Sorcerer Kingdom and they routed the demi-humans out. The history of the Dwarf Kingdom starts more than two hundred years ago. The country remains almost completely isolated from the world for a long time until the era of the Thirteen Heroes emerges. At that time, the dwarves cities prospered and that was deemed to be the golden era of the Runecraft. Those years ended when the nation was attacked by one of the Demon Gods, who destroyed their ancient capital and forced its citizens to flee to survive. During the attack, most of the royal family members were killed, and those who remained decided left the Kingdom to join the fight against them. Its last king was known as the Magic Craftsman and the Runesmith King, a hero immortalized in the legends. The Dwarf Kingdom consiste of four underground cities for which they had built and were spread all around the underground caverns of the mountains, each connected by a series of cave networks. However, those cities have dwindled down to two. Cities(Known cities: Feo Jera; Feo Berkana; Feo Raidho which is Abandoned; Feo Teiwaz, which is Destroyed.) Culture(The dwarves prefer to live in the underground caverns of the mountains and practice their craftsmanship. They don't seem to mind interacting with both human and demi-humans as they have formed trade relationships with the people of the Baharuth Empire and have interacted with the lizardmen of the Great Lake. The Dwarf Kingdom was the home of runecraft, which the runesmiths of old took pride in. Runecraft had declined after the kingdom opened its borders to the outside world two hundred years ago. With the introduction of new magical techniques, primarily the much more efficient Tier Magic, runecraft became outdated and nearly forgotten. There are public bathhouses in each city, running off the heat from the crucibles of their forges, and the dwarves frequent them. Religion(There is a High Priest of Earth, who governs everything that has to do with magic. It is possible this position is related to the Temple of the Four Great Gods.) Politics(In the past, their nation was a monarchy ruled by the Runesmith King. However, the monarchy no longer exists after the last members of the royal bloodline left to fight against the Demon Gods and is now instead ruled by a group of eight dwarves called the Regency Council. Their positions are The High Priest of Earth, Forgemaster, Commander-in-Chief, Director of Food Production, Cabinet Secretary, Brewmaster, Master of Caves and Mines and the Merchant's Guildmaster. All mines are nationalized, by law that person has to make a payment to the government in order to keep it. This does not apply to any minerals excavated in abandoned mines and tunnels.) Military Strength(All military matters are handled by the Dwarven Army.)

Baharuth Empire, referred to as The Empire, is a human nation with Arwintar as it's capital and one of the three nations neighboring Nazarick. Once one of the strongest nations in the region, they willingly became a vassal to the Sorcerer Kingdom upon witnessing the latter's overwhelming military strength compared to their own. The Baharuth Empire is located east of the Azerlisia Mountains, northeast of the Great Tomb of Nazarick. It was one of the nations founded after the defeat of the Evil Deities over 200 years ago. Three generations ago, the Empire was a feudal state until the current Emperor established an absolute monarchy by purging much of the nobility. Each Emperor was also noted to be a talented ruler, with each new emperor building upon the last. Following the death of the previous Emperor, a violent power struggle took place for the Empire's throne. In the end, it landed in the hands of Jircniv Rune Farlord El-Nix, the son of the late Emperor and one of the Empire's Great Nobles. Jircniv ordered the deaths of his entire family, including his mother, alongside any noble he saw as a threat in order to secure his rule. The purge was executed so skillfully that the Empire's national power was barely affected, though the excessive violence earned the new ruler the epithet of Bloody Emperor. Culture(The Baharuth Empire is a civilization that is similar in culture to that of the French Baroque era. The citizens of the Empire have a higher standard of living when compared to other nations, thanks to the numerous reforms made by the current emperor. Limited meritocracy exists. The Empire has a slave reform that grants rights to slaves, but only for humans and not demi-humans. Nowadays, slaves are often those who are in urgent need of a lot of money, thus selling themselves in exchange for an upfront payment. While nothing can stop a master from forcing orders onto his slaves, said master will have to pay their families a compensation fee in the event of severe injuries or death. For severe injuries, the master has to notify the relevant agencies and be prepared to incur a hefty penalty in accordance to the reason for injury. The slave trade in the Empire has been declining because of the strict laws. For commoners, the Grand Arena was a source of entertainment. While in contrast the theatre was reserved for nobility.) Religion(The Empire's citizens seem to worship the Four Great Gods, along with several minor gods, that preside over mankind.) Education(The Imperial Magic Academy was made for the sake of not losing people that could elevate the Empire’s overall skill level. Where formerly, besides private schools and tutors, the only means to education was self-study, it was decided a new method was to be produced. Though it is called the Institute of Magic, there is not particularly only magic casters alone. The Empire considers magic to be only one field of study. The Empire's institutes are focused on producing their arcaners, sorcerers, wizards, and other arcane magic casters.) Politics(Originally, the administration of the Empire was left to the Nobles of the Court Council. After the Bloody Emperor purged the majority of the nobles from power, he was left with a bureaucratic party to administrate and maintain his empire. He adopted many of the social reforms passed by Renner Theiere in Re-Estize, which allowed his country to successfully prosper. Currently, the Empire is held together by a centralized bureaucracy, divided into various departments, each with their own specialization. Many noble families continue to exist in the Empire since they swore their loyalty to the Emperor and their importance in politics reduced. Upon the vassalization of the Empire to the Sorcerer Kingdom, however, the internal politics of the Empire's government have rapidly changed. The few remaining nobles who had not pledged full allegiance to the Emperor and his administration have now done so in fear of the Sorcerer King, who backs the current government. The Empire has now also begun to experience a time of peace and increased national security due to now being protected by the Sorcerer Kingdom.) Military Strength(The Baharuth Empire’s knights are referred by the common folk as part of the standing army. The Empire has a strong armed force, which is referred to as the Imperial Army. The Magic Ministry has spared no expense to provide the latest magical technology to the might of the Empire. Imperial soldiers in the Empire are professionally trained. The Empire's military assets also include the personal guards under the direct jurisdiction of the Emperor himself, imperial air guards mounted on flying beasts, and even high-level magic casters using flight magic. After the Empire became a vassal state, the nation's military is being reconstituted under the Sorcerer Kingdom's rule.) Military Units(Royal Air Guard: Aerial warfare branch of the Imperial Army. Royal Earth Guard: Elite knights who are under the direct command of the Emperor. Royal Guard: Knights specially chosen to protect the Imperial Palace. Four Imperial Knights: Four selected knights who act as personal bodyguards of the Emperor. Eight Knight Orders of the Empire: Knights charged with policing the Empire.)

Elf Country is a nation of elves south of the Slane Theocracy with Crescent Lake as it's capital. The nation is also currently at war with The Theocracy. The Elf Country once had a friendly relationship with the neighboring Slane Theocracy, despite the latters prejudice towards non-humans. That was until the Elf King abducted and raped the woman who was known as the ace of the Theocracy's Black Scripture. The Theocracy managed to rescue her and took custody of the child he impregnated her with. Afterwards, the Theocracy began waging a war of retribution against the Elf Country. However, progress is slow as the Elf Country is mostly hard-to-traverse woodland and the war continues to this day. On the other hand, the elves are clearly on the losing side, with many being captured and enslaved. Most of the population consist of wood elves as well as very small population of wild elves that mainly live in the meadows. Around three hundred years ago, the dark elves relocated to the country from the north. Culture(All elves who live in the Elf Country see any elf with Heterochromia eyes as a sign of royal blood. At least some elves have been known to mate with other humanoids and produce half breeds. The Elven Royal Family bear the special characteristics of the ancestral elves. Majority of the elves living in the country are of forest elven descent. There are dark elves living within the country, but are a minority and rarely interact with forest elves. Even so the population of the elves is not that great and they only have one major city while the rest of the population live in small villages spread around the forest. The population of said villages is usually less than 200 people per village. Through the power of druids, elves created elf trees, homes in the trees that were transformed using magic. Such trees formed elf villages and provided protection against the many threats in the forests. Travel and communication between villages through the boroughs of the trees. The economy of the elves within the villages is not coinage based, with elves prizing good food and medicinal herbs. Currency is used in some places such as the capital. Most elven villages were self-sufficient due to the dangers of the forest.) Religion(The elves' blindly following of anyone of their race with heterochromia eyes, which is a sign of royalty. There are two great treasures that the elves possess in the nation.) Education(The Elf Country does not have a proper education system. The only subjects that the elves seem to only focus on is knowledge on monsters and techniques. Though they have neglected subjects such as history.) Politics(Elf Country was loosely considered a kingdom. The elves followed a hierarchy and were ruled by a powerful king or queen. The Elf Country is an absolute monarchy, with the Elven ruler serving as its sole governing entity.) Military Strength(The elves of the nation have a higher proportion of people who can fight compared to humans. The Elf Country has a strong enough military to fight off the Slane Theocracy's. The reason why elves are able to combat Theocracy's superior tactics, resources, troops, and magic items is their guerrilla tactics. To some extent, the Elf Country's military is said to be even more skilled than the Theocracy's Holocaust Scripture in this field.)

The demi-humans that are part of this country are comprised of various races. Culture(The Council State is composed of demi-humans, humans being a minority. In fact, humans made up less than 10% of the country’s population.) Politics(The Council State is the only known democracy in the New World. It functions on a loose parliamentary system, with each race inhabiting the country typically holding a single seat and the person who gets to represent their kind being chosen through a periodic popular vote amongst said race. The Dragon race is exempt from this "one seat per race rule", with them instead having five representatives, known as the "Five Dragon Councelors", who each hold a permanent seat in the parliament. Sorcerer Kingdom is a newly founded nation in the New World. It is ruled by Sorcerer King Ainz Ooal Gown, who is attempting to turn it into a utopia for all races. While starting out as a land-locked city-state, it is continuously growing stronger and expanding territory, resources, and influence with each new conquest. The Sorcerer Kingdom is an of Demiurge, after he took a joke by Momonga about world domination literally. In the power structure of the Sorcerer Kingdom, the most important thing wasn't one's own powers or abilities. In terms of the command structure, the low-levels obey the high-leveled. Highest below Ainz is the Floor Guardians and their Leader. Below the rank of Floor Guardian are Area Guardian who are each led by them respectively. After the Area Guardians are the battle maid Pleiades, and then the Manservants and the Homunculus Maids. They form the servant caste. The status of the servants is based on their level and job class and are not associated in any means with the floor level they were spawned from. Numerous permanent undead summons have entered into the service of Nazarick. To the inhabitants of Nazarick, the 41 Supreme Beings, former guild members and Ainz, are regarded and treated as gods that deserved their utmost respect, devotion, and undivided attention. Due to a majority of the denizens descending from a hierarchy of demi-human and non-human racial backgrounds, humans are primarily seen as an inferior species. Most, but if not all of the creatures in Nazarick view humans as another type of specimen, toy or food. Nazarick inhabitants will usually treat each other with politeness. The inhabitants can be brutally barbarous to any outsiders who enter Nazarick as they are quite extremely protective of the tomb itself. Nazarick allows other races, such as demi-humans entry. But are still considered to be at the bottom of the social hierarchy. Despite this, the subservient races are given a fair share of protection and welfare for their benefit when living under the dominion of Nazarick. The Sorcerer Kingdom will only share their new technologies with those who are absolutely loyal to the Great Tomb of Nazarick. Ainz refuses to let Nazarick’s technology be leak and disclose to the public, preferring to keep anything of important value or rarity confidential. They will give the common folk people outdated technology which poses no threat to them. There are currently four festivals for special occasions which are Sorcerer King Grand Thanksgiving, Sorcerer King’s Birthday, Sorcerer Grand Christmas and New Year's Eve. As the Sorcerer Kingdom has adopted Heinrich's law, this enables the nation to go out of their way and respond to any and all oddities, no matter how small they may be. There is very little political activity amongst almost all the Floor Guardians except from Demiurge and Albedo who primarily take actions for the Sorcerer Kingdom, engaging in friendly competition and joint ventures depending on the present situation. The majority of inhabitants living in the Great Tomb of Nazarick have a diverse number of non-human species that possess monstrous abilities surpassing that of humans and demi-humans. The Sorcerer Kingdom has possession of eleven World Items for the Floor Guardians to use. Ainz's army outside the realm of Nazarick is a force consisting between either Death Knights, Soul Eaters, or numerous types of undead guards. The Sorcerer Kingdom's military's standard soldiers are Death Knights and Death Warriors while using Soul Eaters as mounts, but can also deploy Death Wizards, Death Assassins, and Death Priests to supplement. Religion(The Dragon Kingdom's primary religion are the worship of the Royal family line of Dragon Lords.) Politics(The Dragon Kingdom is an absolute monarchy, with most if not all political power being in the hands of the monarch. The monarch is a direct descendant of the country's founder, Brightness Dragon Lord, known as the "Dragon King" or "Dragon Queen". The monarch is also accompanied by a personal adviser who seems to serve as the representative of the common people. The advisers hold no political power of their own, with ultimate decision-making remaining solely in the hands of the monarch.) Military Strength(The Dragon Kingdom's own military strength is in very bad shape. It likely does not have the funds to build up a good military, because they have to pay ransom to the other nations in return for their aid. These formations can be switched by changing the leader to Sebas Tian or Aureole Omega Depending on who the leader is, they are called the Pleiades Six Stars or the Pleiades Seven Sisters respectively. Aureole is not allowed independent movement at the moment. Hence, Ainz decided to make Yuri Alpha the Pleiades' deputy leader to maintain command over the sisters. The ages from oldest to youngest siblings are ranked accordingly about the Pleiades: Yuri Alpha, Lupusregina Beta, Narberal Gamma and Solution Epsilon, CZ2128 Delta, Entoma Vasilissa Zeta, and Aureole Omega.

Ainz Ooal Gown, formerly known as Nine's Own Goal, was one of the top Guilds of YGGDRASIL, with 41 members in its prime. Consisting only of members of society, the guild rose to prominence through the excessive purchase of cash items and possession of rare relics. The guild was infamous for its possession of eleven World Items, the most out of any other guilds in YGGDRASIL, and its creation of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, the most difficult dungeon that no one could conquer. The biggest reason behind their gathering and creation of Ainz Ooal Gown was because of the discrimination that other players had against the heteromorphic races. Simply because of having monstrous forms, it was seen as natural for players to kill the heteromorphs over and over. Thus, this led the guild to decide that since they were already seen as evil monsters, they'll just behave as evil monsters then. Ainz Ooal Gown played the role of villains. It was the kind of guild which focused on such a monstrous theme from that standpoint. In Ainz Ooal Gown, the guild members were all fans of complex backstories and details. Many of the guild members were artists and programmers.

Temple of the Four Great Gods or more colloquial known as the Temple is a religious institution established throughout the various cities and nations of the New World. This faith is found mostly in the northern nations of the New World. Not only do the priesthood and the temples serve to praise and glorify the gods, but they have also manage the temples, serving as the New World's contemporaries of hospitals. They are the New World's spiritual undertakers ensuring the well-being of society. They have a sworn duty to fight against the undead and specialize in using holy magic for healing and exorcising. The Four Great Gods stand above humanity and preside over a compilation of minor deities that watch over humanity. The souls residing within the corpses of the deceased have yet to move on to the afterlife. When the dead body of a human corpse begins to rot, the soul would also be summoned away by the will of the gods. The sins of a person are absolved the moment they are executed and turning them into undead is a desecration. As this is a normal procedure, the dead have to be buried immediately underground though it was slightly different for those with special status such as the nobles. Four Great Gods(The religious organization is actually a variant international faith that worships an alternative form of the Six Great Gods of the Slane Theocracy in the form of the Four Great Gods. The gods are the God of Fire, God of Water, God of Wind and God of Earth. Minor Gods(In addition to the Four Great Gods, there also exist several minor gods that are said to act as their subordinates. The God of Business: Existing only in the Web Novel, all trade of currency has this deity's mark. God of Theft: A subordinate deity to God of Earth. Buddha: A central figure of a variant religion, most people viewed him as a follower of the Four Great Gods.)

Description It consists of a massive underground lake situated inside a large, natural-looking cavern. The lake is described as one of the largest bodies of water within Nazarick. The environment feels ancient and otherworldly, with the cavern walls and ceiling enclosing the water area, giving it a subterranean, dimly lit atmosphere typical of a deep cave system.efe98c Unlike the more elaborate themed floors (like the frozen Glacier on the 5th or the Jungle on the 6th), the 4th Floor receives relatively little detailed description in the main story—it's mostly shown through its key feature: the expansive lake itself. Floor Guardian The guardian is Gargantua, a colossal Strategic Siege Golem (over 30 meters tall) that isn't a custom NPC created by the Ainz Ooal Gown guild. Instead, it was a bonus reward from the YGGDRASIL game after they conquered the tomb. Gargantua is a mindless construct with no personality or independent will—it usually remains dormant at the bottom of the lake and only activates when directly ordered by Ainz (or authorized superiors). Its appearance (when it emerges): An ultra-large stone golem with chunky arms and legs. Carved from stone, giving it a somewhat "cute" proportion if you ignore the immense size. Glowing red lines in its round eye sockets and across its chest (like a pulsing heart or energy core). In the Lizardmen arc (Volume 4 / Season 2 of the anime), Gargantua is summoned to intimidate the lizardmen by rising from the water and hurling a massive boulder with overwhelming force. Before the guild took over Nazarick, the floor's original boss was a giant white bat. The floor has Area Guardians as well, but they report directly to Ainz since Gargantua lacks the intelligence to manage them. Overall, the 4th Floor serves more as a transitional or utility area rather than a heavily trapped or populated one like the upper catacombs (Floors 1–3) or the lavish Royal Suite (Floor 9). Its main "defense" is Gargantua's raw destructive power when deployed.

Leader Neuronist Painkill Type Fortress Located In 5th Floor Controlled By Great Tomb of Nazarick
Frozen Prison (氷結牢獄) is the maximum-security prison where the Great Tomb of Nazarick keeps its prisoners.
Background The area was designed by the Great Alchemist, Tabula Smaragdina.[1] The prison is managed by two Area Guardians: Nigredo and Neuronist Painkill. Nigredo was only the Area Guardian of the above-ground portion of the Frozen Prison while Neuronist was the Area Guardian of the underground portion was in charge of this facility located on the 5th Floor.
Chronology The Undead King Arc Main article: The Undead King Arc According to Albedo, the commander of the Slane Theocracy's Sunlight Scripture captured by forces of Nazarick has been incarcerated in the Frozen Prison.[2]
The Bloody Valkyrie Arc Main article: The Bloody Valkyrie Arc Ainz Ooal Gown and Albedo paid a visit to Nigredo in the Frozen Prison. After briefly alerting the area's spawned creatures they went to Nigredo's room to request her to use her surveillance abilities on locating Shalltear Bloodfallen.[3]
The Pleiades Day Arc Main article: The Pleiades Day Arc Due to her actions, Nigredo was confined in the Frozen Prison with Pestonya Shortcake Wanko as her cellmate. Later, with permission from Ainz, Yuri Alpha secured their release to assist her in building a Sorcerer Kingdom sponsored orphanage.[4]
The Witch of the Falling Kingdom Arc Main article: The Witch of the Falling Kingdom Arc An hour after listening to the Floor Guardians' briefings on the war with the Re-Estize Kingdom, Ainz went to the Frozen Prison to have a meeting with Nigredo and Pestonya.[5]
The Half Elf God-kin Arc Main article: The Half Elf God-kin Arc When Ainz attempted to contact Albedo after deciding to head to the Elf Country, he learned that at the time she was in the prison.[6]
After Mare Bello Fiore successfully defeated Antilene Heran Fouche and took her prisoner he informed his master Ainz Ooal Gown of the woman’s possible link to Shalltear’s brainwashing. Ainz then transported his party from the Elven Royal Castle back to the Log Cabin so that Aura could carry the prisoner to the Frozen Prison so she could be interrogated by Neuronist. Having been warned about the woman’s formidable strength, Ainz assigned Mare to stand guard with Neuronist.[7]
Afterwards Ainz was present in the interrogation room where Antilene was caged before Neuronist, and the dark elf twins. It was there he learned that the Slane Theocracy was indeed responsible for brainwashing Shalltear, causing him to summon Albedo to inform her that the Sorcerer Kingdom was declaring war on the human nation.[8]
Layout & Features The Frozen Prison resembles a fairy-tale castle but the interior is anything but magical. Various wraiths and undead lie in wait, hidden from seeing eyes to launch themselves at trespassers. Located in the fifth floor of Nazarick where the entire terrain is a frozen wasteland, escape from this stronghold is impossible.
Room of Nigredo: The cell where Nigredo, Overseer Guardian Albedo's sister, is kept in confinement. The entrance to her chamber is disguised as a painting of a mother cuddling her baby. Room of Truth (Pain is not to tell): Neuronist Painkill's personal place of office. In other words, where Neuronist and her Torturers process freshly caught captives for interrogation. It's filled with a number of horrendous torture contraptions and equipment. Trivia It is said that the temperature inside the prison is even lower than that of the Arctic world of the 5th Floor. Cocytus is known to be training in his home at the Frozen Prison, and was visited by Shalltear.[9] In Overlord: The Undead Oh!, the Frozen Prison resembles an icy mansion.[10] In Mass for the Dead, the function for Frozen Prison, save for Nigredo's cell, had to be shut down to conserve resources. Hence, Neuronist's torture facility was relocated to the floors under Shalltear Bloodfallen's control.[11] In OVERLORD -ESCAPE FROM NAZARICK-, the castle makes a visual appearance in the background and setting.[12] Also inside the Frozen Prison is a room containing three pictures each depicting an image of a decapitated girl, which was placed there by Tabula Smaragdina as a gimmick. Supposedly according to urban myth bad luck or a death curse comes in threes.[13] For a time the children that Pestonya and Nigredo rescued from death after the Demonic Disturbance were kept and cared here while the two women were in confinement. Pestonya used her magic to summon Archangel Flames to help care for the children. They were also secretly helped by others such as Clavu, Shihoutu Tokitu, Cocytus, the Frost Virgins and Neuronist Painkill.[14] In Mass for the Dead, Succulent was imprisoned in the Frozen Prison so that he would not interfere with Lupusregina Beta and CZ2128 Delta's worker identities in New Six Arms.[15] And also in the game, the Chocolate Factory was built in a room to provide a stream-line process for chocolate production.[16]

Homunculus Maids are the forty-one artificially man-made humanoid beings made by several guild members of Ainz Ooal Gown. The Homunculus Maids resemble beautiful female humans. They consist of three main groups made by three different Supreme Beings. The Homunculus Maids are loyal to the Supreme Beings and Nazarick. They refuse to take breaks and wish only to serve Ainz Ooal Gown. They were created by Whitebrim, Herohero and Coup De Grâce. Since all have never set foot beyond the 9th and 10th Floors of Nazarick, the maids are ignorant of what lies beyond. Though some of them do hold some anxiety towards the outside world, due to the massive player invasion that had once occurred in the past. All of the Homunculus Maids' abilities and classes are generally at level one. They also all possess 'Increased Food Consumption' as their racial penalty, making them voracious eaters. They are superior to a human being in terms of stats. However, if it came down to a fight, a Homunculus would only have a 60% chance of achieving victory. The maid uniforms they wore prove them measure of defensive strength, being on the level of a high-class item. They are all equipped with magic items that will negate fatigue. The Throne Room is a chamber located on the 10th Floor of the Great Tomb of Nazarick. The Throne is an area designed by the guild, Ainz Ooal Gown, to welcome invaders who managed to penetrate the defense of the dungeon. There the guild members would assemble here for a final showdown. The Lemegeton stands between it and the rest of Nazarick, acting as a final defense for the heart of Nazarick. The Throne room itself is an exquisite piece of work. A wide, high room, enough for several hundred people, with a high ceiling and surrounding walls that were predominantly white, with golden decorations as highlights. Hanging from the ceiling were numerous chandeliers made of precious stones of all colors of the rainbow, and emitted a fantastic, dreamlike radiance. Numerous flags emblazoned with symbols of each for one of the Supreme Beings, hung from flagpoles embedded into the walls. In the center of this room that was tinted gold and silver, was a flight of stairs about 10 steps high. Atop these stairs was a gigantic throne, carved out of a single piece of crystal, whose back was high enough to touch the ceiling above it. A huge red banner hung down behind it, proudly displaying the symbol of the guild.

Lemegeton is a hall located on the 10th Floor of the Great Tomb of Nazarick. The Lemegeton stands just before the entrance into the Throne Room. Here, one of the last lines of defense of the dungeon were laid to 'welcome' intruders. A domed hall that looked like a theater, with four-colored crystal lamps that glittered from the ceiling. There were 72 niches in the walls. Many of them were filled with statues that resembled demons. At the end of the hall were a pair of giant doors, The Gates of Judgement. They were a majestic set of double doors that were over five meters in height and covered in intricate carvings. The left side was shaped into a beautiful goddess, while the right was made to resemble a cruel demon. So realistic was their design that even from across the room, one felt like they would attack.
