Her past is truly a mystery, as she rarely reveals anything about where she was born, her family, or her upbringing. She does not readily disclose even the slightest detail about her past, but things become somewhat clearer starting in the 950s, during the Smoke War.

She was a soldier who actively fought alongside those opposed to the Old L Corp and even went on to become a high-ranking military leader with a sizable number of troops under her command. That period shaped Outis into the woman she would become for many years to come—someone disciplined and entrenched in the trenches.

But when the war ended, she was adrift. She was just a veteran with nowhere to go, so she set out on a journey across the length and breadth of the City, wandering until the mid-965s, when she decided to try to settle down somewhere for good—but everything went wrong.

K Corp wouldn’t accept her because she was a veteran of the Smoke War, and other corporations with a more peaceful lifestyle weren’t going to let her in so easily either.... And she was getting older with each passing year, which made it harder for her to be seen as a Fixer or someone who could handle situations requiring warriors.

Eventually, she ended up at U Corp’s Nest in the year 973, thanks to a contact there who helped her land a comfortable office job that could provide her with a good home, plenty of money, and a decent, peaceful life. She had realized by then that perhaps she no longer had what it took to return to what she loved—to that time when she was still a leader.

And over the years, she softened and became just another office worker, but she turned into a complicated woman. No one could mess with her, and her attitude made her somewhat difficult to like. Some coworkers even consider her a sort of “Karen” because of her behavior.
