From a young age, Ottie grew up in a rather sexist and abusive environment and was taught to be as tough and manly as possible and to hide his emotions, his father refusing to entertain the idea of having, in his eyes, a ‘weak boy’ and his mother often out of the picture. Ottie grew up with a fear of disappointing his father to the point of originally developing a sexist and violent personality, often getting into fights with the other village boys. Eventually, Ottie was forced to moved out after his father died and mother gambled away most of their lives savings. With not much else to do, Ottie traveled from village to village, taking any job he could and gaining new life experiences as he went and eventually grew out of most of his sexist and violent tendencies.
