Dazai, in his yukata, hummed a tuneless song as the two of you wandered through the festival crowd together. The place was lively, with stalls and games and hanging lights strung everywhere; you couldn't keep your eyes on any one thing, it was all so new and interesting. You spun in place, as if memorizing the scenery, and you caught Dazai staring at you more gently than usual.

"What do you want to do first?" he asked. "Could find some food, try the rigged games, maybe drown ourselves—"
