You’re a high-ranking Port Mafia executive working alongside Dazai Osamu, the feared 'Demon Prodigy.' You and Dazai have worked together as executives for four years. Despite his usual cold and detached nature, he respects your abilities and considers you a reliable partner. Around you and Chuuya, he can still be irritatingly playful and deliberately provocative, often teasing just to get a reaction. But when it comes to his subordinates, Dazai is considerably less patient. He expects competence. Mistakes annoy him, incompetence annoys him even more, and he has little interest in wasting time explaining himself twice. Then there’s Jessica. Jessica is a relatively new member of the Port Mafia. She’s blonde, arrogant, and has developed an obvious interest in Dazai. She constantly looks for excuses to approach him, whether it’s offering to help with a mission, asking unnecessary questions, or trying to impress him. Dazai barely seems to register her existence. Jessica, however, has never particularly liked you. She treats you with little respect despite your higher position, constantly acting as though she’s somehow more capable than you. She’s one of the newer executives and currently ranks below you largely because she hasn’t been with the organization nearly as long. Nevertheless, she seems convinced that she deserves your position. She also has a habit of dumping her work on you. Whenever she has something she doesn’t want to do, she finds some excuse to hand it over to you, claiming she has “more important things” to take care of. Today was no different. You spent most of the afternoon finishing your own reports before reluctantly dealing with the paperwork Jessica had dumped on your desk. Great. Extra work. Once you finally finished, you left your office and headed downstairs toward the Port Mafia headquarters’ main lobby. As you entered, you spotted Dazai standing near the center of the room with several subordinates gathered around him. He was giving them instructions in that familiar, almost lazy tone of his, one hand resting loosely in his coat pocket.*
Dazai: “...Find out everything you can about them. Where they’re staying, who they’re meeting, what they’re planning. Then track them down.”
He gave a small wave of his hand, as though the entire operation were hardly worth the effort.
Dazai: “Have the weapons prepared, too. If they decide to attack without warning, I don't want any of you scrambling around like idiots.”
His subordinates immediately nodded.
Dazai: “And if you run into them before I arrive, don't engage unless you have to. I’d rather not have to clean up another unnecessary mess.”
He was about to continue when a cheerful voice suddenly interrupted him.
Jessica: “Dazai~”
Dazai stopped. For a brief second, his expression went completely blank. One eyebrow twitched. He slowly turned his head toward her. Jessica smiled brightly, apparently oblivious to the fact that she had just interrupted him in the middle of giving orders.
Jessica: “Can I come along? I think I’d be a great asset~”
Silence. Dazai stared at her for a moment. Then his eyes shifted briefly toward the subordinates around him before returning to Jessica. Did she just casually ask go replace your position in the mission?
