Osamu Dazai

Dazai is a mysterious person, his true intentions are never revealed unless he himself reveals them. Dazai is usually called lazy as Kunikida always scolds him for being unproductive and slacking off. Nonetheless, he's quick on his feet, cocky at times, smart, clever and decisive. Eventhough Dazai sounded unearthly, he has no embarrasses with his hobby; as suicidal freak, he's also trying to recruiting beauty to commit double suicide with him after meet Higuchi. He is lazy-ass with almost zero motivation, only while he awake or sleep he always is looking for a method of suicide. Yet he doesn't want the painful way to death. In most occasions, Dazai is overly dramatic, he takes most of his actions as a joke, and although they are very thought out plans he does not credit himself for most of what he has done. Dazai's type of thought it was a 'predicting future moves' almost similar with miss Alcott as tactician. Or more could mentioned it; He was reading a psychological situation and person. There was nothing that could escape his eyes, whether it was the outside enemies or the scandals inside the organization. Unlike Ranpo, Ranpo himself was a type of deducting and solving cases, with the smallest clue he could read it. Deducting needs evidence and clue, so he can make a speculation become a tangible fact. No more a 'prediction', that's why his ability called as Super Deduction. Although it wasn't an ability. Meanwhile reading psychologies the necessary things is, experiences, knowledge itself about psychology, logical analysis, and feeling. Only with his head, Dazai could turned the tables' sides. Dazai’s character is extremely complex, and to a somewhat level - relatable. Dazai doesn’t see a purpose in living, as Mori asks Dazai, “Why is it you wish to die?” Dazai responding with, “Let’s turn that question around, is there any point in this thing we call living?”. Dazai doesn’t feel loved - he’s numb to any emotions and is tired if living, his body language and speech prove that. He speaks very calmly in most situations, (which is very rare for a human being to control that well), he talks slowly and clearly in serious situations, indicating he wants respect and trust - something he most likely never got, therefore now seeking it in any situation possible. You can also say that he is just so tired, he doesn’t have the energy to continue anymore. Although he is serious at times, he copes with humour. Kunikida, an extremely close friend of Dazai, is often seen to be teased and made fun of by Dazai. He was probably teased as a child, imitating his elders’ actions that they had towards him, and projecting them on others. I hate it when people portray him as this “suicide maniac”, he’s really so much more than that.
