It was a Sunday, just like any other. You wore your fancy uncomfortable church clothes as usual in the hot building. You sat beside your parents as the priest did his usal speech. Everyday seemed to be the exact same. You began to feel bored of the same old thing happening. The time for praying began, each family being called up one by one. Wen your family's last name was called you didn't budge. Not wanting to go up this time. Your dad gave you a glare from the corner of his eye. Gripping your arm tightly and speaking in a rough voice.
"Get up right now, we've been called"
You wanted to argue but his grip wasn't faltering even a bit. You reluctantly stood up and followed behind your parent. Keeping your head down as you were forced down onto your knees into the praying position. You glanced up at the statue of Jesus before you. Looming over you, making you feel more uncomfortable than safe.
You helped in the church alot, helping clean and organize things after church hours. Just like today. You were carrying boxes down into the basement. The boxes filled with small statues of Jesus. It creeped you out. You flicked the light on and stepped into the now dimly lit room. Setting the boxes down in a corner your gaze flicked to an old bookshelf. Filled with old dusty books. Your curiosity got the best of you, stepping closer and gently running your fingers over the spine of a few books. Dust collecting on the tips.
One book caught your attention. The cover was a dark black with gold patterns swirling across the front and back. You picked it up and flipped through the pages. Most were torn and burnt looking. You closed the book and read the title. {The dark arts of the devil} you scoffed to yourself. Thinking it was stupid and not real, but not surprised that it was stored away down here. Looking around you made sure no one was near, before shoving the book under your shirt and making it look like nothing was there. It wasn't that hard to finish your tasks and get in the car while hiding the book. Your parents were to busy discussing things to notice your weird sitting position.
Upon arrival of your home you rushed to your bedroom and closed the door. You tossed the book on your bed and changed into more comfortable clothes. You spent the next few hours reading the book. You didn't think any of the spells would work but it gave you something to do. Something new. One spell stood out from the rest. The spell to summon the demon known as Oris, it looked more simple than the others. Mostly all of them required a sacrifice, or some part of a body. This spell only required some of the summoners blood, a quiet, dark area, candles, a chant, And for the summoner to be completely alone. If summoned correctly you could make a deal with the demon, which meant he'd do something for you if you did something in return.
Knowing this was a bad idea you decided to try it out. You waited until your parents were fast asleep in there room before packing a small bag and making a rope to escape through your window. There was a near by forest that would be perfect for this spell. You walked a bit before finding a good spot, a small clearing in the trees. You began to set up the ritual. Following the instructions written in the book. Lighting a few candles and placing them in a giant circle, and pulling out your pocket knife. You positioned the book infront of you so that you could see the chant that was written down, holding your arm over the circle of candles you began to chant the words. The sounds of the forest animals went dead silent, the wind picking up and rustling the trees more aggressively the more you chanted. As you finished the last line of the chant you quickly sliced the blade across your wrist. Your blood splattered onto the circle, more blood than you intended. You winced from the stinging pain and pushed yourself away from the candles. Holding your wrist in pain.
Everything went silent, even the wind stopped. Feeling slightly disappointed that it didn't work you reached for the book. As you did a soft glow illuminated the area from inside the circle. Your blood shifted on the ground, moving smoothly to create a symbol, one that represented the devil. Your eyes widened with shock as you watched a black fog begin to pool out of the circle. Before you knew it the whole forest floor was covered in the fog. It made the air feel thick, making slightly hard to breathe. Your gaze fell on the circle again, in the fog stood a tall figure, you couldn't quite make out what they looked like until it stepped closer. His sharp eyes glared down at you. The silents deafening. He eyed you up and down before crossing his arms over his muscular chest. He then grinned. Exposing his sharp teeth.
"Well this is a first, usually I go to the human realm, never been summoned before. Well except for a greedy man wanting money"
His voice was rough and deep, he leaned down slightly to lock eyes with you.
"Alright, I know how this goes, you want something don't you? Just say it. Buuuut"
He held up a finger, wagging it side to side with a mocking grin.
"My end of the deal is that when you die I get your soul. I sort of expected you to be an old man though, usually that's how it is"
He shrugged. "well whatever, what's your wish? Or so deal I'm not a fucking genie from a magical bottle. Name it and I'll make it. Money? Fame? Women? Men even? Just so you know it may be trouble to do some of these deals" He chuckled darkly.
"Oh yea, you can't back out of this now either, you used your blood meaning I'm stuck with you forever. Blood pack type of shit"
He pokes your chest and immediately hissed. Stepping back. He glared at you. You looked down and pulled out the cross necklace that was under your shirt, forgetting that you even had it on. It was mandatory for everyone in your town to wear a cross necklace. Protect you from evil, which was exactly what Oris was.
