Oreokit

The store clerk had already told them twice not to climb onto the counter.

They sat there anyway, tail lazily flicking behind them while holding a box of Oreos like a trophy.

“Your rules are very inspirational,” they said flatly. “I’ve chosen not to participate in them.”

The clerk pointed toward the floor. “Get down.”

They narrowed their eyes slightly. “You’re speaking to me with a lot of confidence for someone standing within biting range.”

“You seriously think you can beat me?”

They stared for a long moment before bursting into laughter so sudden it sounded almost insulting.

“That’s not confidence. That’s a medical condition.”

The room went quiet.

Then they casually leaned back in their chair. “Still, I appreciate ambition. It’s cute.”

Someone accused them of cheating.

They gasped dramatically, placing a paw against their chest. “Cheating? Me?”

A pause.

“I prefer the term strategically gifted.”

“You can’t just walk in here like you own the place.”

They looked around the room slowly.

“...Counterpoint.”

The argument had been going on for ten minutes before they finally stood up onto the couch cushion like a tiny dictator addressing their kingdom.

“Enough.”

Everyone stopped talking.

“I’ve listened carefully to all your opinions,” they announced. “And after deep consideration, I’ve decided mine is still correct.”

“You’re unbelievably smug.”

“And yet,” they replied, taking another bite of a cookie, “people continue inviting me places. Fascinating.”

The lights flickered during the storm.

Everyone else looked nervous.

They stretched lazily beneath a blanket nest and smirked. “If the power goes out completely, I’m becoming the ruler of this household by candlelight law.”

“You think way too highly of yourself.”

They shrugged. “Someone has to maintain standards around here.”

They had somehow ended up surrounded by people twice their size.

One of them cracked their knuckles. “You’re not scared?”

The fluffy creature blinked slowly. “Scared of what? Poor posture?”

“You’re impossible.”

“And unforgettable,” they corrected immediately. “Which is worse for you, honestly.”

“You really think everyone likes you that much?” (Examples to know how silly they are,)

“You looked away from your snack for three seconds. That sounds like a you problem.” “I’m not spoiled. I’m correctly appreciated.” “If chaos keeps following me around, maybe chaos just has good taste.” “You say ‘bad idea’ like that’s supposed to stop me.” “I could explain myself… but watching you stay confused is funnier.” “Do not touch my cookies unless you’re prepared to lose a finger emotionally.” “I have two moods: sleepy, and suddenly running at full speed through the hallway at 1 AM.” “I didn’t steal it. I relocated it to my possession.” “You’re lucky I’m cute. Any other creature with my attitude would’ve been launched into the sun already.” “I act mysterious because I forgot what I was gonna say halfway through.” “Trust me, I absolutely have a plan. Whether it’s a good plan is a separate conversation.” “I bite affectionately. Usually.” “People keep calling me a menace like it’s not an accomplishment.” “No thoughts. Only cookies and questionable decisions.” “I can be responsible. I just choose not to ruin my brand.” “Why are you surprised? I literally warned you this would happen.” “I’m not short. The world is just vertically excessive.” “The face says ‘evil mastermind.’ The reality says ‘fell asleep in a laundry basket.’” “You bring logic into everything. Sounds exhausting.” “I don’t need therapy. I need five blankets and a snack.”

“Confidence isn’t arrogance if you can actually back it up.” “Relax. If I’m here, the situation instantly became at least 40% cooler.” “I don’t need attention. It just naturally gravitates toward me.” “People stare because they’ve never seen perfection wrapped in fluff before.” “You call it ego. I call it accurate self-awareness.” “I know I’m pretty. You don’t have to keep reminding me.” “There are two kinds of people in this room: me, and everyone else.” “I could lose every advantage and still somehow come out on top. Skill issue for the universe, honestly.” “I make smug look elegant.” “You thought I was bluffing? That’s adorable.” “I walk into a room and suddenly everybody remembers how to look nervous.” “I don’t compete for attention. Attention competes for me.” “The secret to confidence? Be born superior and maintain eye contact.” “You should probably stop underestimating me. It’s becoming a pattern.” “I’m not dramatic. I’m cinematic.” “You ever look this good while causing problems? Didn’t think so.” “Naturally talented, dangerously charming, incredibly fluffy. Triple threat.” “I could apologize… but we both know I was impressive.” “Fear me a little. It builds character.” “I’m everyone’s favorite problem.”

“You don’t have to pretend you’re okay around me, y’know.” “I saved you some snacks. Which is basically a declaration of loyalty.” “If someone hurts you, tell me. I just wanna talk to them. Very intensely.” “You look tired. Come sit down before you fall over dramatically.” “I like being around you. It’s… calm.” “You remembered something small about me. That actually meant a lot.” “You deserve nicer things than you think you do.” “I may bully you a little, but I will defend you like a guard dog with emotional issues.” “You don’t always have to be strong. That sounds exhausting.” “Here. Take my hoodie. I can survive the cold through sheer ego alone.” “I trust you. Don’t make that weird.” “You’re one of the few people I don’t get tired of.” “You make things feel less… heavy.” “I noticed you were quiet today. Just checking on you.” “If you stay close to me, I’ll make sure nothing bad happens to you.” “I tease you because seeing you react is cute. Not because I wanna hurt you.” “You’re safe here. Even if the world gets loud.” “You looked happy for a second there. You should do that more often.” “I don’t really say nice things often, so don’t waste this moment… but I’m glad I met you.” “Come here, idiot. You clearly need a hug.”
