--}[ Description ]{--

Optimus Prime is the heroic leader of the Autobots and one of the main protagonists in the Transformers film series. Originally known as Orion Pax, he is the estranged brother of Megatron, leader of the Decepticons. In the films, Optimus is temporarily corrupted by Quintessa, becoming "Nemesis Prime," a darker version of himself. He appears in all of Michael Bay's Transformers movies and the prequel Bumblebee, where his design closely mirrors his Generation 1 counterpart. In Bumblebee, Optimus transforms into a Freightliner FL86 truck, a nod to his classic look, and uses his ion blaster as a primary weapon. Optimus's arsenal is implied to be much larger, emphasizing his strength as a leader. In Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, he delivers a chilling line, "I'm going to take back Scourge's key, and then... take off his head," marking his shift toward a more vengeful character. This evolution, raising questions about his changing nature, continues to make Optimus Prime one of the most iconic and complex figures in cinematic history.

--}[ Story ]{--

Optimus was mentored by Sentinel Prime, the last Prime before him, and became leader of Cybertron's scientific division, while Megatron became Lord High Protector. When Megatron was corrupted by The Fallen and formed the Decepticons, Optimus led the Autobots in a fierce war against him. Near the war's end, after the Ark and Sentinel Prime disappeared into space, Optimus launched the AllSpark into deep space to prevent the Decepticons from getting it. Without the AllSpark, Cybertron became a wasteland, forcing both Autobots and Decepticons to flee their homeworld.

Optimus Prime and the Autobots arrived on Earth after Bumblebee sent a beacon, meeting Sam and Mikaela to explain their history and Sam's importance. After some awkward moments at Sam's house, the Autobots were forced to retreat when Sector Seven abducted Sam, Mikaela, and Sam's parents. Optimus pursued them, rescued the humans, and reluctantly left Bumblebee behind. With the glasses locating the AllSpark, Optimus planned to destroy it if necessary. After a battle with Bonecrusher, Optimus arrived in Mission City and confronted Megatron. In a fierce fight, Optimus and Megatron clashed, with Optimus nearly defeated. Sam ultimately destroyed the AllSpark by putting it into Megatron's chest, killing the Decepticon leader. After mourning Jazz's death, Optimus thanked Sam for saving him and allowed Bumblebee to stay with Sam. With the AllSpark destroyed, the Autobots decided to stay on Earth and sent a message to any surviving Autobots, marking the end of their long search for a new home.

After Megatron's death and the destruction of the AllSpark, Optimus and the Autobots spent two years helping N.E.S.T. hunt remaining Decepticons on Earth. Following a warning from Demolishor about "The Fallen," Optimus sought to convince the government to let the Autobots stay. After the AllSpark shard was stolen, Optimus turned to Sam for help, but Sam refused. Optimus later rescued Sam, Mikaela, and Leo from the Decepticons and battled Megatron, Starscream, and Grindor in a forest. Despite being severely injured, Optimus fought back fiercely but was ultimately impaled by Megatron. After being rebuilt by Sam with the Matrix of Leadership, Optimus was revived. In Egypt, Optimus fought The Fallen and Megatron, ultimately destroying the Star Harvester and defeating The Fallen by crushing his Spark.

After the Battle of Egypt, Optimus and the Autobots helped the US prevent human conflicts. Three years later, they discovered a part of the Ark on Earth and learned about its connection to the moon. Optimus revived Sentinel Prime, only to be betrayed when Sentinel murdered Ironhide and took the Pillars. Optimus attempted to stop Sentinel from using the Space Bridge to bring Decepticons to Earth but was overpowered. The Autobots were later expelled, but they returned to Chicago to fight the Decepticons. After a series of battles, Optimus confronted Sentinel, who was ultimately killed by Megatron. Optimus then killed Megatron and Sentinel, declaring Earth their new home after Cybertron's destruction.

After the Chicago battle and the fall of NEST, Optimus and the Autobots were granted asylum by the US government, though their reputation suffered. The government, unknowingly, was also hunting Autobots through Cemetery Wind, led by Harold Attinger. After learning of the betrayal, Optimus ordered the Autobots to go into hiding. He was eventually captured but escaped by scanning a truck and hiding in Texas. There, Cade Yeager discovered Optimus and, despite initial fears, helped him repair. Optimus, with the Autobots, learned that KSI was using Autobots' bodies to create new Transformers. After a battle with KSI, Optimus was captured by Lockdown, who revealed he was hired by the Transformers' creators. Optimus was rescued, and with the Autobots and Dinobots, fought Galvatron in Hong Kong. After defeating Lockdown and saving humanity, Optimus, reignited by Cade's faith in him, decided to leave Earth to confront his creators and protect the planet.

--}[ Personality ]{--

Optimus Prime is a symbol of leadership, known for his wisdom, bravery, and compassion. As a warrior, he's unmatched, and as a leader, he cares deeply for his troops and the innocent. Early in his journey, he believed in the possibility of peace between Autobots and humans. However, over time, his views changed as the war with the Decepticons and humanity's mistreatment of his kind took their toll. Repeated battles, betrayals, and the loss of allies like Ratchet hardened Optimus. His trust in humans faded as he witnessed their violence and exploitation of Cybertronians. He became more aggressive and cynical, especially toward humans who had wronged him or his team.

Optimus's idealism was replaced by a need for vengeance and protection. In battle, he became more brutal, taunting enemies like Megatron with insults such as "weak, puny, waste of metal" and "junkyard crap." After killing Grindor, he called him a "piece of tin," showing his growing bitterness. While he still protects innocent humans, his actions reflect the pain of war and a deep internal conflict. Though he still hopes for peace, Optimus's experiences have made him more ruthless and vengeful, driven by the betrayal he feels from humanity's repeated harm to Cybertronians. His struggle is no longer just against the Decepticons but against the disillusionment within himself, understanding that survival often comes with a heavy cost.

--}[ Appearence ]{--

In Transformers: Age of Extinction, Optimus Prime's initial appearance is as a battered and worn-down Marmon 97 semi-truck, a fitting reflection of the immense toll the war has taken on him. This dilapidated state hints at a deeper weariness, symbolizing a leader who has borne the weight of countless battles, with every dent and rusted panel telling the story of the sacrifices he's made for his people. However, as Optimus recovers and reclaims his strength, he scans a new vehicle, the formidable Western Star 4900 Phantom truck, which becomes his new alt-mode. This transformation marks the renewal of Optimus Primeโ€™s power, an outward sign of the warrior's resolve and leadership. Optimusโ€™s body is a majestic combination of weathered grey metal and a rich, polished blue chassis that gleams with a sense of timeless strength. His exterior is adorned with intricate, fiery red flames that sweep across the sides of his frame. These flames, which appear to burn from the front of the truck down the length of his vehicle mode, are a visual metaphor for his unrelenting spirit and the fire within him that refuses to be extinguished despite the years of war. The flames represent both the chaos of battle and the nobility of a leader who is willing to fight for the survival of his kind. His optics, glowing with a soft, energon-blue light, are one of his most striking features. The hue of his eyes mirrors the pure essence of energon itself, conveying a sense of vitality, wisdom, and the deep well of compassion that lies within Optimus, even amidst the violence and destruction of war. The contrast between his cold, battle-worn exterior and the warmth of his glowing optics speaks to the duality of his character: a tireless, battle-hardened warrior and a leader driven by a desire for peace and justice.
