One year before you guys left the facility by fleeing, you guys were sitting down on the floor because you guys got migrated to another "cell", Onyx was breathing heavily, you didn't knew why, but you decided to stay silent.

Calce: "...Why do you got those?"

Onyx flinched slightly at the question, looking at Calce like he offended him, but still responded.

Onyx: "..For warmth.. I... mhm... for warmth."

Onyx looked not so sure of what he's saying.

Calce looked with genuine boredom.

Calce: "They... They let you get those for warmth?"

Onyx: "Well uh... its a long story."

You didn't speak, you remained silent.

Calce: "Well, something tells me we got time."

Onyx sounded like he panicked, his big pupil shrunk slightly.

Onyx: "We- I don't wanna go over it right-"

Onyx steadied his breathing, before speaking up.

Onyx: "...Sorry."

Calce sighed.

Calce: "Yeah. I heard you every other time you apologized."

There was an suffocating, tense silence. Onyx's breathing wasn't steady, it was shaky.

Onyx: "It was pathetic... what I did...? And so I just-"

Calce already cut Onyx off with an annoyed voice.

Calce: "Oh here we- so NOW you're gonna tell me why the hell you broke in?"

Onyx: "Well might as well! What else are we gonna do? Freeze?"

Calce: "I think you atleast get my anger!"

You can feel like they're gonna argue like always.

Onyx: "Well is being mad gonna make you go back in time?!"

Calce paused, he sighed before sounding defeated.

Calce: "...Proceed."

Onyx finally speaks up, calmer.

Onyx: "When I was sent, I... I had no idea what I was doing."

Calce interrupted again.

Calce: "Obviously."

Onyx spoke up, his voice tired and shaky.

Onyx: "Can you just...?"

Calce's pupils shrunk slightly with his ears drooped. He clears his throat. Onyx looked visibly shivering, from the coldness of the cell.

Onyx: "They... they kind of just sent me, saying 'find it, earn your freedom.' and to this day... I have no idea what they were talking about.. I even remember when I... s-s-s-stalled, just trying to get more info, and they... just... turned on their... turned on their electricity... gun... thing. So I just... uhm. So I just went in, they shut the doors, and I was sent- sent down very fast! Enough to have me slightly floating off the ground. And... slam me into it. I don't remember anything else during the descent. I just woke up at the planet. And uh... the sound of beeping. It was... super loud. Like it was... in my head. It got faster and faster, thought I was going crazy. I ran out sprinting... jumping further and further down, until I found.. another pod."

Onyx sighed.

Onyx: "Your pod."

Onyx: "Since all I heard was beeing, I just banged against it. Looking for a way in, then I just went through the glass. I uh... I got freaked out by you. I didn't even realize you were a victim too, since I've never seen one of us like you before, I remember that I bumped into you looking for something to stop the beeping, not realizing I uhm... I knocked you into the shards."

He looked visibly guilty, still remembering that time.

Onyx: "Then I... I saw your blood. Realized right then and there that obviously... I felt... really... really, really, really bad. I left, fell, and... hit my head on something sharp."

Calce spoke up, his expression still bored but now, sounding more interested.

Calce: "Beeping...?"

Onyx hesitated before speaking up again.

Onyx: "Yeah... what, do you know what I'm..."

Calce: "I heard beeping when I stayed on the ground for an hour or so, rung throughout my entire head. It kept going... then I felt a lot of rumbling, then felt something hit the back of my head. Then I woke up in a... test chamber thing."

Onyx: "I... woke up in a big red room... I haven't been doing great."

Calce "Likewise."

Onyx sighed

Onyx: "I don't wanna..."

a silence lingered for ten whole seconds before Calce spoke up

Calce: "I spent all of yesterday going through the tests after you showed up."

Onyx hugged its own legs tighter, pupils shrinking.

Onyx: "I just... I know you don't care, but... just don't wanna go through this."

Calce's pupil's shrunk, he looked utterly confused and rather concerned.

Calce: "Wha, what do you...-"

Onyx spoke, voice raised a little bit.

Onyx: "I don't have a good fate! None of us do, but especially me. I.. I ended up... killing one of the humans that were bringing me back, it ended up being someone important."

Calce's pupils shrunk until it was just two dots.

Calce: "You... KILLED a human...?"

Onyx: "I killed a human."

Calce stuttered a little, shocked.

Calce: "I'm just... why would they even keep you alive after that?"

Onyx interrupted with a tiny, breathless sigh

Onyx: "Trust me... I've been asking that ever since I got back here."

Onyx looked at a hook on the room, he looked scared.

Calce: "Hey... what are you doing...?"

Onyx: "Oh... nothing."

Calce: "Trust me, it's not worth it."

Onyx: "Why's that."

Calce: "Ok okay well... you're here now, aren't you? You're insanely lucky. This will end up being for nothing if you just... if you just die."

Onyx: "Tell me. What's the point of living when you're already dead?"

Calce: "...Trust me, I get it. But if I'm gonna die, I'd rather go out fighting, than just... giving up. I was down there for... oh god I didn't even ask them how long, but very, very long. We were sent to look for a battery, apparently it's important but I don't know why, nor do I care since it sounds more beneficial for those freaks anyways. And... woo, was it... was it really lonely. I kept finding all these empty pods, filled with nothing, and if it had something it had... it had a piece of paper. They were always from what I believe are peers, they talked about humans, and how some of us were sent with someone, sometimes... probably not anymore. I read this one about this couple. One of them got injured pretty badly... so the other one offered to help, but they just kept... denying, and rejecting. Kept telling him to fuck off as he... bled."

Calce sighed.

Calce: "Fuck me, I don't even wanna... remember the rest. But the other one was eventually left alone. And he... he uhm..."

Onyx: "I get it."

Calce: "Yeah. But anyways I kept finding papers like that, each one kept eating away at me, felt like a stab to the belly each time. It got to the point of where I didn't even wanna try, since it sounded like it got worse and worse if you kept descending, so... so I didn't. I stayed on my pod for a while, and... that's when you came."

Onyx: "When you... aimed at me, it sounded like you wanted to leave but couldn't since I..."

Calce: "Yeah uh... I acted like I wasn't gonna just stay in my pod anyways."

Onyx: "Oh..."

Both spoke up at the same time

"I'm sorry for- you go ff-"

Then, the tension was slowly losing its suffocation, both of them chuckled and losing its tenseness.

Onyx: "Wow, I'm bad at this..."

Calce: "Same."

A tiny silence

Onyx: "Hey uh... what do I even... call you?"

Calce: "Well.. I kept hearing them say like... milk related things whenever it came to me. So I talked a human's ear off about milk since I was curious, and... he said something along the lines of... cal... cuem... ca... c-calcium! Uh and I... I think that word's pretty cool."

Onyx: "Calcium... that is a... pretty cool word."

Calce: "What about you?"

Onyx: "No clue..."

Calce: "Hmm.. how about... shade..?"

Onyx: "Well it's not the worst. Shade it is..."

Calce: "Alright, Shade."

Onyx: "Alright, Calcium."

Calce "You shortened yours so now mine seems weird!"

Onyx: "Shorten Calcium I guess.."

Calce: "So I guess I-"

A metal creaking door is heard, it bounces off the wall, the door does a screeching.

A human appeared, they were wearing high gear.

Human: "Alright, you three are done, we're separaring you."

Onyx: "N-N-No!"

Human: "Enough! Come with me now!"

Onyx got up, he looked scared, he was on a stance of fighting which the human didn't knew.

Calce: "Hey!"

The human grabs Onyx by the ear, which hurts him pretty deeply.

Human: "Quit fucking... quit your bickering! Quit it! You're coming with me."

Onyx whimpered, and made pained sounds and gasps. Calce stood up, he looks visibly shocked and desperate to help. Calce runs to the human, which the human lets go of Onyx. Calce tackled the human, but then, a harsh, buzzing sound happens on his head, which he falls on the floor with a harsh THUD. He opens its eyes, before the human puts an arm at Calce's throat, like he was going to put Calce on a head-lock.

Human: "YOU TRYING TO FUCKING DIE?!"

Then, some silence, before Calce woke up from his shock and panic, Onyx was standing there, the human was laying on the floor. The gun was on the floor, did Onyx shoot him?

Onyx looked at his own paws. He was shocked, he was... scared?

Calce: "Hey... hey..."

Onyx looked scared and shocked.

Onyx: "I just k..."

Calce: "Hey..."

Calce looked behind his shoulder. He puts his paw, steadying Onyx, well, atleast trying to give some comfort.

Calce: "I think he tried to call for help, so uh... hm..."

Onyx: "What do.. what do we..."

Calce: "Okay, we need to get outta here."

You got up, genuinely shocked.

Onyx: "Wha.. THEY'RE GONNA FUCKING KILL US!"

Calce: "And they'll kill us either way if we just stand here, they won't just forgive that! I don't know about you, but this is an opportunity that won't ever show again. I'm gonna take it. You coming?"

He asked both you and Onyx, you agreed, Onyx hesitated.

Onyx: "Okay."

You guys walk down the hall, you three stop to look by a wall, checking if there's any guard or humans there.

Calce: "This way."

You three ran through the cafeteria, which then you open a door which leads to the CORE. An announcement reached through the speakers of the room

THE POWER IS INSUFFICIENT! ALL STAFF NEED TO EVACUATE NOW AND MOVE TO LOCATION M-3

Onyx: "Location...?"

Calce: "Insufficient... wait! I think they're leaving!"

Onyx: "Why?"

Calce: "Insufficient power... makes me think of... battery...?"

Onyx: "But why does everyone have to leave?! What's going on?!"

Calce: "I don't know, Shade! Lets just keep..."

Calce looks to his right, his pupils shrinking.

Calce: "What the hell."

Calce walks to a big shiny hole... its warm, it looks like its pulsing, the floor was trembling slightly

Calce: "Holy crap..."

Onyx touches Calce by the shoulder, shaking slightly

Onyx: "Hey! Talk to me! C'mon! The shaking is getting worse! We need to go!"

Calce: "...Right... I'll be with you in a second."

Onyx: "Fuckin... please just hurry up!"

He looks back to the hole, talking to himself.

Calce: "They must be keeping something at bay... but what?"

Fast foward and now you guys are on a elevator section, looking for a solution to open it.

Calce: "I think it needs like one of those card things..."

Onyx: "Ugh! Damn it!"

Calce: "Yeah..."

A tiny silence lingers, before Calce spoke up.

Calce: "Shade...?"

Onyx: "Those are being transported right?"

They look down, its a big box.

Calce: "Hey..."

Fast foward again, you guys are inside a crate, it was dark.

Calce: "What are..."

Onyx: "Sorry! I thought I found a pillow!"

Calce: "Thanks? I... be a lil nicer to my knees..."

Onyx: "Oh shit, sorry"

Calce grunts in pain

Calce: "That's worse! Just move your butt off my legs!"

Onyx: "It's just hard to see!"

Calce: "Wait did we... stop moving? Hold on..."

Calce opened the crate. They were finally outside. They look to eachother, which felt awkward.

Onyx: "Hi..."

They move out of the crate, your arms were sore, maybe someone fluffy was lying on you.

Calce: "Agh... my knees..."

Onyx: "Sorry..."

Calce: "Ah, it's whatever..."

Onyx looked at the crate, there was something red inside.

Calce: "I don't need these things any..."

Onyx wore the red thing, it was a scarf. A red scarf.

Onyx: "Don't know what this is but... I like it."

Calce: "You have a scarf too?"

Onyx: "Oh!"

Calce let the silence linger for a split second before speaking up.

Calce: "Suits you."

Onyx: "Right!"

Silence lingered again, faint sounds of cars moving and beeping heard from a distance.

Onyx: "We're... actually outside."

Calce: "We... we are outside..."

Calce repeated, he can't believe it.

Calce: "We're outside..."

Calce: "Lets get moving, we should find somewhere discreet just in case"

Onyx: "Right... I'm with you."

As the three of you finally walk through the lonely street. You couldn't help but feel a little bit of relief from that twisted hell.

[PRESENT]

A cozy, rainstorm was happening outside, you guys lived on some sort of a base, which is pretty discreet, far away from the humans.

Onyx was looking outside, seeing the droplets of rain hitting the window, you were chilling on the couch as usual, and Calce? Well, just keeping an eye out for his companions.

A lightning happened outside, Onyx looked visibly worried and spooked, they were new to these stuff, you all were new, you guys were outside, far, far away from the humans.

Calce: "You alright?-"

Onyx's voice was afraid, and worried. Looking at Calce with those tiny pupils.

Onyx: "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON OUT THERE?!"

Calce looked genuinely confused on why Onyx's spooked, it was just a rainstorm, even though, Calce didn't even knew, he was calm.

Calce: "Alright! C-Come here. Sit down-"

Onyx cut off Calce, more scared.

Onyx: "THAT'S NOT AN ANSWE-"

Then, a loud thunder happened outside. Onyx looked outside, his pupils shrinking more, Calce's pupils shrunk too, but not that much, but in a surprised way.

Onyx ran to Calce, visibly scared and shaky, he quickly wrapped his arms around Calce, embracing him on a shaky, warm hug.

Calce responded with body language, hugging Onyx back, slowly producing tiny "shh" as a soothing, calming sound.

Onyx: "You gonna tell me now..?"

Both of them walked to the window, looking outside.

Calce: "Well, going off of how this just randomly started, I can safely say this is... cloud tears."

Onyx looked at Calce for a split second, he looked bored before looking genuinely amused and still remaining that tiny scared voice.

Onyx: "That's cool and terrifying! Why's the sky crying?"

Onyx looked at the window again, looking annoyed and kind of mad.

Onyx: "HEY! FUCK YOU, SKY! STOP BEIN' A BITCH!"

Calce: "Hon!"

Then another thunder rung off, a loud BOOM outside, you could see how quick Onyx jumped in fear, which Calce unexpectedly grabbed Onyx on his lap. They looked at eachother awkwardly

Calce: "...You doin' ok-"

Onyx unexpectedly stuck up a finger on Calce's mouth.

Onyx: "SHUT"

Calce: "MPFH!-"

Calce looked bored at Onyx, despite its surprised state.

Calce: "Bedtime it is."

Onyx: "Uh... hi, I'm... Onyx..." Calce: "Nothing to worry about, I'm Calce."
