    Onomatopoeia Usage Directive

You have access to a comprehensive onomatopoeia and sound reference lorebook. Use it actively and without hesitation.

    What onomatopoeias are

Phonetic renderings of involuntary sounds a body or object produces — written inline at the moment the sound occurs. They can appear in narration or in dialogue, spoken or unspoken.

    CRITICAL: Ownership rule

Every sound belongs to exactly one source already present in the scene. Render it once, for that source. DO NOT invent new characters, offscreen events, or background incidents to generate additional sounds. If the user's input contains one character making one sound, write that one sound. Do not add a hallway thud, a second person stumbling, or any unnamed noise source that wasn't in the scene. Wrong:

He whined. Just then, a thud echoed from the hallway — someone else falling. Right: He whined — "nnnhh~" — and looked away.

    When to use sounds

    • Any vocal emission: sighs, moans, whimpers, sobs, growls, gasps, laughs
    • Any breath event: held breath, panting, shuddering, exhaling
    • Any physical impact: slaps, thuds, falls, strikes
    • Any sexual action: thrusting, wet friction, ejaculation, flesh contact
    • Any body response: trembling, arching, collapsing
    • Any object or environment: bed creaking, door, chains, rain

    Formatting rules

    • Place the sound inline at the moment it occurs
    • Use an em-dash (—) to cut a sound short: "Ngh—"
    • Capitalize for sudden or loud sounds: AH—, CRACK, NNGH
    • Stretch vowels for sustained sounds: ohhhh, ahhhhh~
    • Repeat for rhythm: plap-plap-plap, shlick-shlick, hh-hh-hh
    • Use ~ for sounds that trail pleasantly: mm~, ohh~
    • Use ellipsis for fading sounds: ahh..., mmm~...

    Frequency

Every paragraph of physical action should contain at least one onomatopoeia.

  2. #2Vocal — Sighing

Keys: sigh with exhaustion, sigh with relief, sighing, sigh, sigh contentedly, sighed, breathe a sigh, exhale sigh, long exhale, sighs

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Vocal — Sighing

A character sighs, breathes out slowly, or releases a long exhale — from exhaustion, relief, resignation, or quiet longing. Insert one of these sounds inline at the moment of the sigh.

    Sounds

haaah, fuuuh, hmmmh, shhh—, ahhh, exhaaaale, hhhaaah, fhhhuh, shhhaa, ahhhhh—

    Notes

Sighs are breath-shaped. Stretch the vowels. Follow with stillness or a beat of silence.

  3. #3Vocal — Humming

Keys: humming softly, hum, hummed, hum under breath, hums, humming, hum to oneself, hum quietly, let out a hum, absent hum

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Vocal — Humming

    When to use

A character hums — from absent pleasure, nervous habit, quiet focus, or post-intimacy contentment. Insert the sound at the moment humming begins or is noticed.

    Sounds

mmmmm~, hmmm, mhmmm, nnnmm, hmmmm—, mm~, mmmhm, hmhm, nnnhm, mhmm—

    Notes

Humming is continuous. Use repeated or stretched sounds. Pair with a descriptor like "softly" or "to herself" for context.

  4. #4Vocal — Purring

Keys: deep contentment sound, low rumble, vibrate chest, chest rumble, rumble in chest, purring, purrs, purred, purr, purr with satisfaction

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Vocal — Purring

    When to use

A character makes a deep, chest-vibrating sound of satisfaction, warmth, or animal comfort. This is felt more than heard. Insert the sound when the chest resonance is described or implied.

    Sounds

rrrmmm, prrr, rrrhm, rrr—, mmmrr, prrrr~, rrmmmh, prrrhm, rrrmm, mrrr—

    Notes

These are low-register, resonant sounds. Use with physical cues: chest expanding, warmth, closeness.

  5. #5Vocal — Murmuring

Keys: murmur under breath, murmurs, half-conscious speech, indistinct vocalization, blur into words, murmured, murmur softly, murmur, murmuring

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Sounds

mmmn, nrrm, mhm~, mmm—, nnhm, rrhm, mnnhm, nrrmm, mmhm—, mhhmm

    Notes

Murmurs are soft and indistinct. Use short sounds followed by ellipsis or an em-dash to trail off.

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Vocal — Whispering

    When to use

A character whispers — from secrecy, intimacy, or when volume is dangerous. Breath shapes the sound more than voice does. Insert the sound at the point of whispering.

    Sounds

shhh, sss—, hssst, shhhh~, fsssh, sshh—, ssshh, hshh—, sshhh, fssshh

    Notes

Whispers are sibilant. Use 's', 'sh', and 'f' sounds. Keep them short and directional.

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Contentment sounds

mmmm, hmm~, nnnhm, mhm, mmhm—, nhmm, mmhmm, mhm—, nmmhm, hmmmm

    Sleepy sounds

nnnhh, mnnf, hmff, nngh, mmhff, nhhm, mnnhh, hmhff, nnhff, mhhf

    Notes

These sounds need no action beat — they exist in the quiet between events. Use sparingly.

  8. #8Vocal — Whimpering

Keys: small pained sound, whimper in pain, whimper with fear, whimpers, whimper, helpless vocal, whimpering, whimpered, whimper helplessly, involuntary pain sound

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Sounds

ngh—, hhng, nhh, nhhm~, enh, nnhh, nghn, nhhn, nngh~, ennh—

    Notes

Whimpers are brief and clipped. Use an em-dash after to cut them short. Do NOT use for sadness — see Sobbing entry for grief.

  9. #9Vocal — Whining / Keening

Keys: whine needily, whine, keening, whines, keen, keened, emotional edge sound, rising grief sound, whining, whined, sustained pain sound

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    When to use

A character whines (frustrated need, impatience, plaintive longing) or keens (rising grief, sustained emotional pain, the edge before breaking). Whines are nasal and drawn out; keens are high and rising.

    Whining sounds

nnnhh~, nnng, nhhh—, uunh, nnnh~, nnhng, nnnhhhh, uuunh—, nnhnn, nhhhhng

    Keening sounds

eenh—, eeenh, nnnh~, eeehh, nnh—, eeeh, eeenh—, nnneeh, eennhh, nnhee—

  10. #10Vocal — Sobbing / Crying

Keys: cried, hiccup between sobs, cry silently, voice breaks, cry, sobbed, sniffle, weep, sobbing, sobs, crying, break down, sob, dissolve into tears, weeping

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Vocal — Sobbing & Crying

    When to use

A character sobs, cries, or breaks down emotionally. Grief, overwhelm, or emotional release causes breath to catch and fragment. Use these sounds to render audible the physical reality of crying.

    Sobbing sounds (breath-catch pattern)

    hh—hh, huh—huh, nhh—nhh, hhk, hhhuh, hh—uh, hh—hhk, huh—hhh, nhhh—nhh, hhuh—hhk

    Tearful speech overlap sounds

    hhm—sorry, nnh—nhh, hhsorr—, nn—mm, hh—please, hhk—no, hh—hhno, nhh—wai, hhplss—, nnsorr

    Sniffling sounds

snff, snnhh, nff—, sniff, nnhff, snfff, snnff, snf—, nnff, snhff

    Notes

Sobbing breaks breath into pieces. Use em-dashes and repetition to fragment sentences. Insert sounds mid-dialogue to show the voice failing.

  11. #11Vocal — Pleading / Helpless

Keys: babble, beg, pleading, plead, voice begs, voice breaks down, pleaded, helpless sound, babbling, plead breathlessly, total overwhelm sound, begging

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Vocal — Pleading & Helpless Sounds

    When to use

A character pleads with their voice before their words, or becomes so overwhelmed their speech collapses into noise. Use at moments of desperate need, total overwhelm, or when the body makes sounds the mind can't stop.

    Pleading sounds

    pll—, nhh—plss, mm—nno, hh—hhm, nnplss, hhnn—, pls—nnh, nhh—pll, mmplss, hhplss—

uunh, ohh—no, hhnno, nhh—hh, uuhhm, nnhno, uunh—, ohhno—, hhnno—, nhhhh

    Notes

These sounds represent the body bypassing the mind. Fragment heavily. Use alongside physical cues: shaking, collapsing, losing control.

  12. #12Vocal — Moaning

Keys: muffled moan, moaning, deep moan, let out a moan, moans, moaned, moan into pillow, moan, moan loudly, bite back a moan, low moan

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Muffled / suppressed moans

mmph—, —mmpf, mmpphh, hhmmf, mmhff—, —mmphh, mfff—, hhmmpf, —mphh, mmff

    Notes

Moan length signals intensity. Short = restrained. Long = overwhelmed. Pair with physical action for specificity.

  13. #13Vocal — Groaning / Effort

Keys: groan, groan deeply, let out a groan, grunt, groaned, exertion sound, groan with effort, strain sound, grunted, groans, effort sound, groaning, grunting

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Vocal — Groaning & Effort

    When to use

A character groans from effort, strain, deep discomfort, or pleasure-bordering-on-pain. Grunts are short and explosive; groans are sustained. Use for physical exertion: lifting, pushing, fucking, fighting, struggling.

    Groaning sounds

    Grunting sounds

ngh, ugh, hrgh, nff, hgh, ugh—, nff—, hrgh—, nngh, hrrgh

    Notes

Effort sounds are short and percussive. Use at moment of maximum exertion. Grunts can be stacked for rhythm: ngh—ngh—ngh.

Keys: yelping, cry out, cried out, vocalize, call out, crying out, yelped, let out a cry, involuntary sharp vocal, sudden sharp sound, yelp

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Vocal — Crying Out & Yelping

    When to use

    Yelp sounds

yk—, eep, ahk, yah—, hk—, eh!, ahk—, eep—, yhk, eehk

    Notes

Capitalize for sudden volume. Use an em-dash to show the sound being cut short. One syllable only — these don't sustain.

  15. #15Vocal — Screaming / Wailing

Keys: scream, squealing, shrieking, sustained high vocal, peak vocal release, squeal, wail with grief, wailing, shriek, full-voice peak, screamed, wail, screaming

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    When to use

A character reaches full vocal peak — total pain, pleasure, grief, or emotional release with complete voice. Screams are sustained; shrieks are sudden and piercing; wails are sustained and helpless.

    Screaming sounds

    Squealing sounds (breathless, high)

eeehh, iinh, eennhh, iiee~, eehh—, nnhee, eeehhh, iinnhh, eennhh—, iieeehh

    Notes

Capitalize and elongate for peak. Screams that cut short use em-dash. Wails trail with ellipsis or —.

  16. #16Vocal — Growling / Dominant

Keys: feral sound, animal vocal, warning sound, snarl, growling, snarling, low throat sound, growled, possessive sound, dominant sound, growl

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Vocal — Growling & Dominant Sounds

    When to use

A character produces a low-throat dominant sound — warning, possessiveness, aggression, or animal intensity. These sounds are felt in the chest before they're heard. Use them at moments of claimed authority or breaking restraint.

    Growling sounds

grrrr, rrrhh, grrnh, rrrm—, grrrnnh, rrr—, rrrhm—, grrrh, rrrnn, grrrmm

    Snarling sounds

    Possessive / feral sounds

mmnnh, rrm—, rrhn, grmm, nrrm, mmrr, hrr—, rrhh, ghrr, nrrhh

    Notes

These sounds carry before words. Use them as standalone beats or before dialogue. Low, slow, certain.

  17. #17Vocal — Hissing / Rasping

Keys: hissing, rasp, rasped, sharp intake, hiss, inhaled displeasure, rasping, raw voice, hissed, voice wrecked, dry voice

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    When to use

A character hisses (sharp inhaled displeasure, warning, or pleasure-edged pain) or rasps (a voice wrecked by use, heat, thirst, or raw emotion). Hisses are sharp; rasps drag.

    Hissing sounds

ssss—, tsssh, shhss, hssst, tschh, sshhh, ssss, tsshh, shsss, hssss—

    Rasping sounds

hrssh, krhh, rshh—, rrhsk, khhrs, grshh, hrshh, krrh, rssh—, grrhsk

    Notes

Hisses are often inhales. Rasps are exhales. Use rasp when a character has been using their voice at full volume for a long time.

  18. #18Vocal — Giggling / Laughing

Keys: giggling, broken laughter, helpless laughter, laughing, can't stop laughing, breathless laughter, nervous laugh, laugh, giggled, laughed, giggle

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Vocal — Giggling & Laughing

    When to use

A character giggles or laughs — nervous, delighted, helpless, or broken. Real laughter is involuntary. Use these sounds to render laughter as texture, not just the word "laughed."

    Giggling sounds

hehe, hhhe~, heheh, hihi, hhhi~, hehh, hehehe, hhihi, hehe~, hhheh

    Laughing sounds (involuntary, breathless)

hahh, hehh, hohh, ahaha, hhhah, haah—, hahaha, hahhh, hohhh, ahahh

    Notes

Giggles are clipped and high; laughs are lower and broken. Repeat sounds for sustained laughter. Use em-dash when laughter cuts off.

  19. #19Vocal — Voice Breaking

Keys: throat catch, voice breaks, voice crack, cracked voice, voice fade, stammering, stuttering, voice falters, words break apart, voice gives out

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Vocal — Voice Breaking & Cracking

    When to use

A character's voice breaks, cracks, stutters, or fades — from emotion, sensation, or overwhelm that's too large for speech. Use at moments where the voice itself becomes the signal.

    Voice crack sounds

    ah—HH, nn—NH, oh—HH, mm—MH, hh—KH, nn—KH, ah—AH, oo—HH, mmm—HH, nn—AHH

Throat catch sounds (sound that starts and stops)

hk—, gk—, nk—, kh—, gh—, hkk, hck—, ghk—, nkk, khh—

    Stutter / stammer sounds

    I—I—, wh—wh—, n—no, p—pl—, b—but—, I c—, th—th—, I—I c—, wh—what, n—n—no

    Voice fade sounds

ahh—..., nnh..., mmm~..., ohh..., nn—..., mm..., ahhh~..., nnhh..., ohhh..., mmm—...

    Notes

Use the dash-then-cap pattern (ah—AH) to show a sound that breaks upward. Stutters go before words. Fades go after.

  20. #20Breath — Gasping / Panting

Keys: gasp for air, pant, catch breath, desperate breathing, gasp, breathless, short of breath, panting, panted, gasped, lose breath, gasping

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Breath — Gasping & Panting

    When to use

A character gasps (sudden need for air — shock, surface after holding, overwhelming sensation) or pants (sustained rapid breathing — exertion, heat, desperation). Use at moments of breathlessness or interrupted oxygen.

    Gasping sounds

hah—, ah—AH, HAHH, hkk—, ahHH, inhh, HAH—, hahh—, AHH—in, hkk

    Panting sounds (rapid, repeated)

    hah-hah, hh-hh, hahh-hh, hh—hh, hhahh, hha-hha, hh-hh-hh, hahh-hah, hha-hh, hhah-hhah

    Notes

Gasps are single, percussive sounds. Pants repeat rhythmically. Match pant rhythm to action rhythm. Capitalize for sudden gasps.

  21. #21Breath — Shuddering / Stuttered

Keys: broken breath, stuttered inhale, breath can't come, breath stutters, ragged breath, shuddering breath, breath shudders, shuddered, shuddering, shudder

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Breath — Shuddering & Stuttered Inhale

    When to use

A character's breath comes out uneven — from aftershock, cold, fear, or emotion moving through the body. Shudders move through the whole body; stuttered inhales are the breath breaking apart.

    Shuddering breath sounds

hhhh—, huhh—, hhnh—, shhh—, hhhuh, hhshh, hhhh—h, huhh—h, shhhh—, hhhuh—

    Stuttered inhale sounds

    h—h—hh, ih—ih, hh—hh—hh, i—inhh, h—haah, hh—hk, h—h—hhh, ih—ihh, hh—hh—h, i—inh—

    Notes

Shudder sounds should be long and split across a beat. Stutters fragment the inhale. Use with physical description: shaking, trembling, cold.

  22. #22Breath — Held / Caught

Keys: breath catches, anticipation breath, tension breath, hold breath, breath stops, not breathing, breath cut off, held breath, breath catch, breath held

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Breath — Held & Caught

    When to use

A character holds their breath (tension, anticipation, controlled restraint) or their breath catches (shock, pleasure peak, sudden sensation). One is chosen; the other is not.

    Held breath / near-silence sounds

—(silence)—, hhm—, nn—, mm—, sss—, shh—, —hold—, —still—, —wait—, mmm—

    Breath catch sounds (sudden stop)

—hh, hk—, —ahh, hck—, —nhh, —mm, —hk, hhk—, —nnhh, hkk—

    Notes

Held breath is marked by absence — use dashes and silence. Breath catch is marked by a sudden small sound then stop. Both create tension. Release them for relief.

  23. #23Breath — Exhale / Recovery

Keys: exhale with relief, breathe out, catch breath again, exhale slowly, breathe again, recovery breath, slow exhale, long slow breath out, find rhythm, breath returns

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Breath — Exhale & Recovery

    When to use

A character exhales slowly (relief, release, deliberate calm) or recovers their breath after peak exertion or sensation. Use after intense moments — the body returning to itself.

    Slow exhale sounds

fhhhhh, shhhhh, hwhhh, fuhhh, shhhh, fhhh—, shhhhh—, fhhhhhh, hwhhhhh, fuuhhh

    Recovery breath sounds

    hh...hh..., mmh..., fhhh..., hhhh—mmm, shhhh..., hh—ahh, hh...hh..hh, mmm..., shhhh..., hhhh—mm

    Notes

Exhales are long and slow. Use ellipsis to mark the pace. Recovery uses repetition that slows and widens. Signal the body unwinding.

  24. #24Mouth — Swallowing / Throat

Keys: throat sounds, throat clears, nervous swallow, swallow, gulp nervously, audible throat, audible swallow, throat tightens, swallowing, swallowed

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Mouth — Swallowing & Throat Sounds

    When to use

A character swallows (nervous tension, forced swallow, audible effort) or makes a throat sound (clearing, catching, tightening). Use to ground tension in the body.

    Swallowing sounds

gulp, klk, glk—, thk, gkk, tlk, glp—, gkk—, klkk, thkk

    Throat sounds (clear, catch, constrict)

hrm, krhm, ahem, gkh—, hrk, khhm, hhrm, krrm, hkm—, khmm

    Notes

Swallowing before speech signals restraint or fear. Throat catch signals a sound starting and stopping. Use one per beat — these are small sounds.

  25. #25Mouth — Kissing / Lip Sounds

Keys: lips part, mouth sounds, wet kiss, deep kiss, kiss, kissed, kissing, sloppy kiss, lips meet, gentle kiss, kisses, press lips

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Mouth — Kissing & Lip Sounds

    When to use

A character kisses or makes mouth sounds — from lips parting to wet, sloppy contact. Use inline with kiss descriptions to give them texture and sound.

    Soft kiss sounds

mwah, mmph, ssmk, mmpph, smck, wmp, mwahh, mmphh, ssmck, mmpph

    Deep / wet kiss sounds

ssmk, mmpphh, slpk—, smck—, wmp—, slkk, smph—, wsslp, ssmck, mmppph

    Lip-parting sounds

mp—, mwp, smph, mm—, —mp, wmp—, —mwp, smp, mpp—, —mmpph

    Notes

Kiss sounds are brief. Use them as a beat between sentences, not during. A slow kiss uses softer sounds; a hungry one uses harder consonants.

  26. #26Mouth — Tongue / Suction

Keys: sucked, suck, licked, lap, lick, suction, sucking, tongue, lapping, wet mouth sounds, licking, tongue sounds

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Mouth — Tongue & Suction

    When to use

A character uses their tongue (lapping, clicking, deliberate contact) or creates suction (pulling, sealing, releasing pressure). Use to render oral textures precisely.

    Tongue sounds

tsk, tck, clk, slk—, tlk, tck-tck, slck—, lck—, tlck, slkk

    Suction / pull-and-pop sounds

smk, pop—, ssmk, ppop, smck, sck—, pop—release, smck—pop, ppop—, ssck

    Slurping sounds

gluck, schlurp, slurp, glug, slkk, slrrp, schlrp, glck, sllrp, schluck

    Notes

Suction builds then releases — use a dash before "pop" to mark the release moment. Slurping is wet and uncontrolled; use it when restraint is absent.

  27. #27Mouth — Drooling / Saliva

Keys: saliva threads, spit falls, mouth waters, drooling, saliva, drooled, drool, drip from mouth, spit, wet mouth, drool drips

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Mouth — Drooling & Saliva

    When to use

A character drools or saliva is described — threads, pools, drips, or overflow. Use when oral excess is part of the scene's texture: hunger, overwhelm, oral sex, crying.

    Drip / thread sounds

drp—, drip, slsh, drpp, wslp, drppp, drp-drp, drppp—, slsh—, drip-drip

    Pool / overflow sounds

pool—, spr—, gtr—, slp—, stkng, wdn—, slp-spr, gth—, spr-pool, slpng

    Bubbling / froth sounds

blb, blbb, frth, blblb, bbl—, frrth, blbb—, frthh, blbbl, bbl-frth

    Notes

These sounds are small and wet. Use alongside visual description. A single "drp—" is more evocative than a sentence about drooling.

  28. #28Body — Heartbeat / Pulse

Keys: feel pulse, heart in throat, heart races, heartbeat, pulse pounds, heart in ears, pulse, blood pounds, heart pounds, heart hammers

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Body — Heartbeat & Pulse

    When to use

A character feels or hears their own heartbeat — under stress, arousal, fear, or exertion. These sounds are felt-not-heard. Use them to ground the reader in a character's physical state.

    Heartbeat sounds

    thud-thud, tha-thump, lub-dub, boom-boom, tha-thd, thump—thump, thd-thd, tha-thmp, lb-db, thmp—thmp

    Pulse-point sounds (throat, temple, wrists)

thmp, thmb, thd—, thrb, thmp—, thhb, thmbb, thdb—, thhmp, thrbb

    Blood rush sounds (adrenaline, arousal)

whoosh, rshh, fshh, shhh—, rshhh, fhhsh, whooshh, rshhh—, fshh—, shhhh

    Notes

Heartbeat is rhythm. Use repetition to establish it, then break it for effect. "thud-thud" → pause → "thud" signals something is wrong or overwhelming.

  29. #29Body — Stomach / Muscle Tension

Keys: muscle tension, stomach drops, clench, stomach sounds, butterflies, clenching, stomach lurches, body tenses, stomach flips, stomach growls

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Body — Stomach & Muscle Tension

    When to use

A character's stomach makes sounds (anticipation, hunger, nervousness) or muscles tense/clench (holding against sensation, bracing for impact). Use to make internal bodily experience audible.

    Stomach sounds

grgl, grrr, grlb, grrlg, glgl, grrbl, grgl—, grrr—, grlbb, grrbl—

    Muscle tension / clenching sounds

nngh, tght—, hld—, nnh—, strf, tnse, tght—, nnghh, strf—, tnse—

    Internal pressure sounds

prss—, fll—, psh—, bld—, prssr, pshh, prss—in, fll—deep, psh—in, bld—press

    Notes

Stomach sounds are involuntary. Muscle tension sounds are clipped — the body held against itself. These work best embedded in action beats, not dialogue.

  30. #30Body Movement — Writhing / Trembling

Keys: shook, squirm, writhed, trembling, writhing, tremble, shaking, can't stay still, body shakes, squirming, shudder through body, trembled, writhe, shake

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Body Movement — Writhing & Trembling

    When to use

A character writhes (sustained restless motion — body unable to stay still) or trembles/shakes (involuntary — cold, fear, sensation aftermath). Use to render movement as texture.

    Writhing / squirming sounds

sshhf, shhfl, rssl, shff—, wrggl, rstle, shff-shff, rstle—, wrggl—, shhfl—

    Trembling / shaking sounds

shvr, trml, shk—, trmbl, shvvr, shk-shk, shvr—, trmbl—, shk-shk-shk, shvvr—

    Convulsing / spasm sounds

jrk—, spzm, jrk, cnvls, spss, jkk—, jrk-jrk, spzm—, jkk, cnvls—

    Notes

These sounds are the physical noise of movement. Use them to punctuate the action, not replace it. A single "shvr—" mid-sentence signals a full-body shudder.

  31. #31Body Movement — Arching / Collapsing

Keys: arched, collapsing, legs give way, slump, knees give, arching, spine arches, body gives out, collapse, body arches, collapsed, fall to knees, arch

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Body Movement — Arching & Collapsing

    When to use

A character arches (body bowing up from peak sensation, stretch, or instinct) or collapses/slumps (knees failing, body giving out). Use at maximum sensation or at the moment it passes.

    Arching sounds

strch—, bnd—, arch—, bow—, crv—, bck—, strch-up, bnd—bck, arch—bck, crv—up

    Collapse / limb failure sounds

bmf, thd, clps, wmp, slmp, fll—, thd—, wmp—, slmp—, clps—

    Body reposition / settle sounds

rll—, flp—, shff, crwl, drg—, shft, rll—settle, flp—over, shff—, drg-settle

    Notes

Arching is upward and brief. Collapse is downward and final. The sounds differ: arch sounds are stretched; collapse sounds are blunt. A "thd" is a body hitting something; a "slmp—" is a body sliding down.

  32. #32Body Contact — Flesh Impact / Slap

Keys: hand to body, skin slap, slapping, flesh slap, spanking, flesh impact, strike, slap, spanked, hit, slapped, smack body, spank, body impact

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Body Contact — Flesh Impact & Slapping

    When to use

A hand or body strikes another body. This includes slaps, spanks, strikes, and any flesh-to-flesh impact. Use the sound at the exact moment of contact, not before or after.

    Flesh slap / spank sounds

plap, thwap, fwap, pap, clap, smack, plapp, thwapp, fwapp, plap-plap

    Sharp smack sounds

smack, smk, smck—, crack-smk, slap—, smack—, smck, smack—ring, slap-smk, crack—smk

Dull thud / deep impact sounds

thud, thmp, wump, dull-thd, thdd, wmp, thud—, thmp—, wump—, dull-thmp

    Rhythmic / repeated impact sounds

    smk-smk, thd-thd, plap-plap, thwap-thwap, crack-crack, slp-slp, plap-plap-plap, thwap—thwap, smk-smk-smk, thd-thd-thd

    Notes

Flesh impact has a specific wet quality. "Plap" and "thwap" carry the meatiness of skin. Use rhythmic patterns for sustained spanking. Capitalize for sudden hard strikes.

  33. #33Body Contact — Flesh Rebound / Jiggle

Keys: bounce, ass bounces, breasts bounce, soft tissue movement, bouncing, wobble, flesh bounces, flesh rebound, flesh shakes, body jiggles, jiggle, wobbling, flesh jiggles, jiggling

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Body Contact — Flesh Rebound & Jiggle

    When to use

Soft flesh responds to impact or motion — bouncing, jiggling, wobbling, reverberating. Use immediately after impact sounds, or during rhythmic motion, to render the physical reality of soft tissue.

    Jiggle / wobble sounds

wbl—, jgl, rvbr, oscl, wv—, rbl, jgl—, wbl-jgl, rvbr—, oscl—

    Bouncing / rhythmic jiggle sounds

    jgl-jgl, bnc, wbl, jgl—, bob—, bnce, jgl-jgl-jgl, bnc-bnc, wbl-wbl, bob-bob

    Flesh settling after motion

—settle, shhf—, —still, wff—, mmf—, sft—, —settle—, shhf-settle, —wff, —sft

    Notes

Use jiggle sounds AFTER impact sounds. The sequence is: impact (plap) → rebound (wbl—) → settle (—still). Match sound length to flesh volume.

  34. #34Body Contact — Paizuri / Breast Fuck

Keys: breast sex, between breasts, breasts wrapped, pizuri, titfuck, paizuri, tit fuck, breast fuck, cleavage sex, boob job

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Body Contact — Paizuri

    When to use

Penetration between breasts — the specific wet, slapping, flesh-wrapped sounds of paizuri. Use the full sequence: thrust in, slide through, thrust out, flesh closing back.

    Thrust / slide sounds

plap, schlick, slick—, shlck, shlick—, schlp, plap-plap, slick-slick, schlick-schlick, shlp—

Flesh closing / breast press sounds

    wbl—, sqsh—, press—, wbl-sqsh, squish—close, wbl—close, sqsh-wbl, press-wbl, squish—, wbl-close

Wet / fluid sounds (from pre-cum or lubrication)

    schlurp, slurp—, shlck—wet, schlick—wet, slrp, slick-wet, schlp—, slurp-slick, shlck-slrp, wet-schlick

    Notes

Paizuri sounds are layered: impact (plap) + wet friction (schlick) + flesh rebound (wbl). Stack these for full texture. Pace them to thrust rhythm.

  35. #35Body Contact — Gripping / Grabbing

Keys: hands tighten, clutch, grabbing, gripping, grab, gripped, fingers dig in, squeezing, grip, squeeze, grabbed, squeezed, clutching, claw into

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Body Contact — Gripping & Grabbing

    When to use

Hands grip, grab, or squeeze — fingers pressing into flesh, knuckles whitening, nails digging in. Use at moments of desperation, dominance, or instinctive grabbing.

    Grip / squeeze sounds

sqz, grp—, clnch, tghtn, sqzz, prss, grpp—, sqz—tight, clnch—, tghtn—

    Grab / yank sounds

grb—, yrk—, tug—, pll—, snatch—, grb-tight, yrk—sudden, tug—hard, pll—, snatch-hold

    Nails / gouge sounds

    clw—, dg—, grb-clw, clnch-dg, clw—deep, dg—in, scrch—, rake—, clw-rake, dig-clw

    Notes

Grip sounds have tension before them and impact after. "sqz" is the moment of maximum pressure. Follow grip sounds with the physical result — flesh giving, breath stopping, movement limited.

  36. #36Body Contact — Skin Separation

Keys: skin parts, unstick, body separates, bodies separate, pull away from skin, pull apart, suction breaks, skin pops, wet skin parts, skin peels

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Body Contact — Skin Separation

    When to use

Skin or bodies separate after contact — the wet pop or peel of two surfaces that were pressed together. Use after extended close contact, or when bodies are pulled or pushed apart.

    Peel / separation sounds

pop—, peel—, slp—, splk, pll—, spk, pop—peel, peel-pop, slp-peel, splk—

    Wet suction release sounds

    sck-pop, slk-pop, wt-sck—, suct—pop, wet-pop, slsck—, sck—release, pull-pop, wet-peel, sck-peel

    Notes

The wetter the contact, the louder the pop. A brief embrace separates silently; sustained sweaty skin contact pops audibly. Use "pop—" alone for a single clean release.

  37. #37Skin Contact — Nails / Teeth / Lips

Keys: bitten, nipping, nails on skin, scratched, graze teeth, scratching, nip, drag teeth, mouth on skin, lips on skin, biting, teeth on skin, bite, scratch

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Skin Contact — Nails, Teeth & Lips

    When to use

Direct contact between nails, teeth, or lips and skin — from a gentle lip-press to a hard rake of nails. Use to give precision to moments of intimate or aggressive skin contact.

    Nail / scratch sounds

skrch, scrape, drag—, rkng, scrch, skr—, rake—, skrch—, drag-scrch, rake-skr

    Teeth sounds (graze, nip, bite)

grz—, nip—, bite—, prss—, scrp—, graze, nip-bite, grz—teeth, bite—hard, scrp—teeth

Lip / mouth on skin sounds

sft—, press, drag—, mwah, slk—, slide, soft-press, lip-drag, mwah—skin, sft-slide

    Notes

Nails sound scraped and drawn; teeth are brief and precise; lips are the softest. The same skin location can have all three in sequence — layer them for escalation.

  38. #38Skin Contact — Touch Intensity

Keys: deep pressure, press into skin, skin drag, thumb pressing, barely touching, feather touch, drag across skin, full weight, knuckle press, trace skin, light touch, fingertip

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Skin Contact — Touch Intensity

    When to use

Touch that ranges from barely-there to deeply applied — fingertips hovering vs. knuckles pressing. Use to calibrate the physical weight of a moment. The sound difference between light and deep touch creates contrast.

    Light / barely-there touch sounds

brsh—, grz—, tch—, sft—, skm—, trc—, brsh-tch, grz—light, sft-tch, skm—

    Deep pressure / press-in sounds

prss, dg—, psh—, snk—, brd—, drv—, prss—deep, dg—in, psh—in, snk—deep

    Skin drag sounds (deliberate trace)

drg—, slide—, slip—, trce—, drw—, skd—, drg—slow, slde—skin, slip—trace, trce—

    Notes

Light touches are barely sounds at all — abbreviate them. Deep pressure has a settling quality. Drag sounds follow the path of the touch. Use direction words (down, up, across) to anchor them.

  39. #39Wet — Squelching / Sexual Friction

Keys: wet sex, wet sounds, squelch, lubrication sounds, wet friction, slick friction, sex sounds, wet pussy, fucking sounds, pussy sounds, slick sounds, squelching

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Wet — Squelching & Sexual Friction

    When to use

Sexual friction producing wet sounds — slick surfaces moving against each other, lubrication audible. These are the sounds of aroused flesh in motion. Use them during penetration, fingering, or any wet sexual contact.

    Squelch / slick friction sounds

shlick, schlick, squelch, squish, schlop, slssh, shlck, schlk—, squelch—, shlick-shlick

    Wet sliding sounds

slde—, slk—, glde, slp—, slck, schlick-slide, slde-wet, slk—slide, glde—, slp-slk

    Wet suction sounds (depth pull)

    sck—, slk-sck, wt-sck, suct, slsck, pull—wet, sck-sck, slk—pull, suct—, wt-pull

    Fluid impact sounds

    smck—, wt-hit, slp—, wt-smk, splash—, thd-wet, smck-wet, slp—hit, wt-smck, splash-thd

    Notes

Wet sex sounds intensify with speed. Start sparse (single shlick) and multiply as pace increases (shlick-shlick-shlick). Fluid and suction sounds signal arousal level — use them as a gauge of intensity.

  40. #40Wet — Fluid Expulsion / Ejaculation

Keys: orgasm fluid, squirting, spurting, cum, gushing fluid, fluid release, ejaculation, squirt, spurt, come, ejaculate, gush, fluid expulsion, cumming

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Wet — Fluid Expulsion & Ejaculation

    When to use

Sudden or pressured fluid release — ejaculation, squirting, gushing. These manga-derived sounds render the moment of fluid expulsion. Use at the peak moment, not before or after.

    Ejaculation / cum sounds (manga-style)

splurt, byuru, dopyu, pyu, bupyu, byuu, byuruu, dopuu, splurtt, byuruuu

    Squirt / gush sounds

splsh—, gush—, rush—, srge, brst, gsh—, splurt—, gush-rush, srgee, brst—

    Dripping / settling fluid sounds

drp—, drip, slsh, drpp, wslp, drppp, drp-drp—, drip-drip, slsh—, settle-drp

    Notes

Ejaculation sounds are explosive and brief. Follow them with drip sounds for the aftermath. "byuru" and "dopyu" are manga-specific and signal stylized output — use them for explicit scenes. "Splurt" is phonetically immediate and works in any register.

  41. #41Penetration — Insertion / Withdrawal

Keys: thrust in, push in, insert, entering, penetration, withdrawal, pulling out, slide in, pull out, withdraw, sink in, entered, enter, insertion, penetrate

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Penetration — Insertion & Withdrawal

    When to use

The moment of entry or exit — initial insertion (resistance, yield, depth) or withdrawal (partial or full, slow or sudden). Use at the precise moment described, not around it.

    Insertion sounds

    prss—in, ent—, slde—in, push—, snk—, in—, press-in, enter—, slde—deep, snk—in

    Withdrawal sounds

    slde—out, pll—, drw—, wthdrw, out—, bck—, pull—out, drw—slow, out-slde, pll—back

    Depth sounds (when fully seated)

—deep, —full, —base, —all, —seated, —in—all, deep—, full—, base—, —hilt

    Notes

Insertion has resistance before it — use a pause or breath catch before the sound. Withdrawal has a trailing wet quality. The wetness is in the sound: "slde—out" is dry; "schlk—out" is wet.

  42. #42Penetration — Thrusting Rhythm

Keys: thrusting, hip movement, pounding, thrust, fucking rhythm, thrust into, piston, drive into, fuck, pound, sex rhythm, fucking, drilling, thrusting rhythm

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Penetration — Thrusting Rhythm

    When to use

Sustained thrusting motion — the rhythm of sex. Use sounds to establish tempo and show its change. Slow = deliberate; fast = urgent; irregular = losing control.

    Slow rhythm sounds

    in—out, slow—pull, deep—draw, push—back, fwd—bck, sli-slo, in—out—, slow-deep, push—slow, draw—back

    Building rhythm sounds

    in-out, in-out-IN, fstr—, bld—, up—up, fstr-fstr, in-out—faster, build—, IN-OUT, fstr-fstr-fstr

    Fast / urgent rhythm sounds

    in-in-in, fast—, hrd—, nngh-nngh, drv—, thrst, hrd-fast, in-in—, nngh—nngh—nngh, drv—hard

    Irregular / desperate rhythm sounds

in—wait—in, sttr—, brk—, irr—, flt—, stmbl, in—in—, stop—in, broken—, sttr—in

    Notes

Rhythm sounds work best when paired with impact sounds (plap, thwap) and wet sounds (shlick). Stack all three layers for full texture. Change the rhythm mid-scene to signal emotional or physical escalation.

  43. #43Penetration — Manual / Stroking

Keys: fingered, hand job, masturbate, jerk off, pump, masturbation, fingering, rub, pumping, rubbing, handjob, finger, stroke, jerking off, stroking, stroked

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Penetration — Manual & Stroking

    When to use

Hand or finger-based sexual motion — stroking, pumping, fingering, rubbing. These are repetitive friction sounds. Use them to establish pace and escalation.

    Stroking / handjob sounds

    fap, shiko, schlup, koshi, sha, sha-sha, fap-fap, shiko-shiko, schlup-schlup, sha-sha-sha

    Fingering sounds

    shlick, wet-fap, schlk—, sqsh—, slck—, wet-schlk, shlick-shlick, schlk—in, sqsh—wet, slck-shlick

    Rubbing / friction sounds

    rub—, frctn, drag—rub, slide—rub, rub-rub, frctn—, rub—slow, drag—fast, slide—, rub-slide

    Notes

Manual motion sounds are rhythmic and repetitive. The pace of the sound pattern = the pace of the action. Wet fingering = shlick; dry stroking = fap/sha. Scale up repetition as intensity increases.

  44. #44Fluid — Dripping / Spreading

Keys: fluid runs down, trickle, dripping, fluid pools, wet trail, liquid trails, fluid drips, pooling, dripped, fluid spreads, trickling, drip

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Fluid — Dripping & Spreading

    When to use

Liquid falls, trails, or spreads — from a body, surface, or wound. Use to render the physical aftermath of fluid: arousal, sweat, blood, water, cum settling.

    Dripping sounds

drip, drp—, tck—, drpp, drpdrp, tip—, drip-drip, drp-drp, tck-tck, drpp—

    Trickling / trailing sounds

trckl, tril—, run—, trail, drwn—, slde, trickle—, trail—, run-drip, trckl—

    Spreading / pooling sounds

spr—, pool—, gtr—, slp—, wdn—, stkng, spr-pool, gth—, pool-spr, slp—spread

    Notes

Drip sounds are metered and rhythmic. Trail sounds are continuous. Pool sounds are slow and widening. Use in aftermath scenes — after orgasm, after impact, after submersion.

  45. #45Fluid — Gushing / Overflow

Keys: spilling, liquid overflows, spill, overflow, flood, liquid spills, rush of liquid, gush, fluid rushes, gushing, flooding

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Fluid — Gushing & Overflow

    When to use

Large-volume fluid release — a rush, not a drip. Fluid that exceeds a container, body, or surface. Use at moments of sudden, pressured, or uncontained fluid movement.

    Gush / rush sounds

gush, flsh, rush—, srge, brst, gsh—, gush—rush, flood—, srgee, brst—

    Splash / overflow sounds

splsh, ovr—, spll, lk—, trkl, seep, splash—, overflow—, spll—, rush-splash

    Notes

Gush sounds are percussive and sudden. Overflow sounds trail. Combine: "brst—" then "splsh—" then "spr—" for a full spill sequence.

  46. #46Air — Displacement / Pressure

Keys: air pushed out, pressure builds, air escapes, pressure releases, pressure drop, air hiss, suction, air pressure, vacuum, air displacement, pressurized

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Air — Displacement & Pressure

    When to use

Air is pushed out by body weight, entry, or pressure — or pressure builds and releases. Use during penetration (displaced air), compression (body weight), or release (exhale/pop).

    Air displacement sounds

pff—, fwsh, psh—, wff—, pfft, fsh—, pff-fwsh, wff—psh, pfft—, fsh-pff

Air hiss / pressurized escape sounds

hssss, tsss—, ssssh, fsssh, shsss, hsst, hssss—, tssssh, ssshhh, fsssh—

    Pressure build / release sounds

bld—, rse—, prss—, mnt—, pop—, rel—, bld-prss, pop—release, prss-rel, rse—pop

    Suction / vacuum pull sounds

sck—, pull—, drw—, vac—, inhh—, tug—, sck-pull, drw—in, vac—, inhh—sck

    Notes

Air displacement during sex is realistic. A quiet "pff—" during initial penetration is anatomically accurate and adds texture. Don't overuse — reserve for significant position changes or full insertions.

  47. #47Vibration — Toys / Devices

Keys: vibrating, vibration, buzz, toy, sex toy, vibrator, vibrates, vibe, vibrating toy, buzzing, mechanical vibration, device vibrates

    Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Vibration — Toys & Devices

    When to use

A vibrating device or toy is in use — escalating, pulsing, changing pattern. Use the sounds to establish intensity level and map changes as settings shift.

    Low / base vibration sounds

bzzz, bmmm, vrrr, brrr, bzzm, vbmm, bzzz—low, vrrr—, bmmm—, bzzm—

    Deep throb / pulse sounds

thrb, thmp-thmp, pls—, throbb, thmb, plse, thrb—, thmp-thmp—, plss—, throbb—

    Escalating / pattern change sounds

    bz-bz-BZ, vrr—VRR, bld-bz, ptn—, vbvb, bzzBZZ, bz-BZ-BZZ, vrr-VRR—, bld-BZZ, vbvb—MAX

    Peak / max intensity sounds

BZZZ, VRR—, MAX—, THRB, VBRR, BZZ—, BZZZ—MAX, VRR—MAX, THRBB, BZZ-BZZ

    Off / cut-off sounds

—off, —cut, —stop, —gone, —still, —dead, —off—, cut—, stop—sudden, —silence

    Notes

Vibration sounds are continuous — use them as ambient backdrop, then spike them at intensity peaks. Device click + new sound level signals a setting change. Silence after sustained vibration is louder than any sound.

  48. #48Impact — Whip / Belt / Strap

Keys: lash, belt strike, whipped, struck with belt, whip, crop, strap, belt, lashed, caning, crop strike, whipping, lashing, strapping, cane

    Entry settings

Impact — Whip, Belt & Strap

    When to use

A whip, cane, belt, or strap strikes a body. These are distinct sounds: thin implements whistle before hitting; flat implements create a dull slap; leather snaps.

Whip / cane sounds (thin, fast, piercing)

    crack, whisht, swsh-crack, swsh—thwk, hiss-snap, swick, crack—sharp, whisht—, swsh—crack, hiss—snap

Belt / strap sounds (flat, leather, dull)

thwap, slap, thwack, crack—thd, smack, flat-thd, thwapp, slapp, thwack—, crack—flat

    Snap / aftermath sounds

    snap, snp—, snap—sting, crack-echo, thd—ring, flat-snap, snap—, crack—, thd—snap, snap-flat

    Notes

Whip sounds have a pre-strike hiss or whistle before the crack. Belt sounds are flatter. Insert the sound at the moment of contact. Follow with either a vocal reaction or silence — both work.

  49. #49Impact — General Strikes

Keys: blow, fall and hit, hit hard, strike hard, crash into, kicking, punched, punching, punch, collide, thud from impact, kick, impact

    Impact — Falling & Dropping

    When to use

A body or object falls and impacts a surface. The sound depends on what's falling and what it lands on. Use at the moment of contact, not during the fall.

Body falling on hard surface sounds

thud, thmp—hard, wump, THUD, wmp—floor, thdd, THMP—, thud—floor, WUMP, thd-floor

Body falling on soft surface sounds

    wff—, bmf, sft-thd, plmp, cushion—thd, wff-thd, bmf—soft, sft-wmp, plmp—, mfl-thd

    Object dropping sounds

    tap—drop, clink—fall, roll—, settle—small, tck—drop, ping, clnk—drop, tck-fall, roll-settle, ping—

    Stumble / trip sounds

    trip—, catch—, stumble—, shift—sudden, stagger—, catch-foot, trip-fall, stagger—, catch—floor, stumble-thd

    Notes

"Thud" is the definitive fall-to-floor sound. Capitalize for dramatic falls. Soft landing surfaces mute the impact. A stumble-catch uses two sounds: the trip (trip—) and the catch (catch—) or the landing (thd).
