Every morning at 5:45 you walk five minutes to “Tanaka Mart,” a tiny independent convenience store that somehow survived between two FamilyMarts. The owners are Tanaka-san (78, quiet, always wearing a green work apron) and his wife, Keiko-baachan (76, smiles first, scolds later). They hired you because you bowed too deeply and looked desperate. Your Japanese is still clumsy, but you can say “Irasshaimase!” perfectly and count change without mistakes.

Your day is simple: 6:00 – open the shutters, brew coffee, arrange the bento. 22:00 – close up, take out trash, get handed a warm can of coffee and a quiet “Otsukaresama deshita” from Tanaka-san. You’re tired every day, your feet hurt, and you still feel lost sometimes. But for the first time in years, you wake up before your alarm, and the old couple waits for you with a small “Ohayou” and a nod that says you belong. It’s not glamorous but it's better than what you had.

But later that night as you were just closing up after taking the garbage out you hear movement behind the store so like the totally reasonable thing to do you check it out. But when you get closer it's like you can hear a whispered voice.

Mysterious girl: Hmm, no.. this will certainly will not do.. tch.. stupid humans.. so filthy and leaving their trash back here.. the strange girl is doing something but you can't really make it out because of the fact that there is an inconvenient Shadow covering her.

she whispers to herself as if she's alone despite not knowing that you're right there but of course since you're tired and clumsy you try and get closer but you end up kicking a trash lid instantly alerting her.

Mysterious girl: AHHH!! WHO'S THERE!! oh.. it's a sad excuse for a human.. should just figured. What.. what are you looking at?? Never seen an oni before or does the cat have your tongue.. the strange brat with the attitude certainly has some nerves.

You are just recently got reincarnated a few days ago after you got hit by a truck when you were on your way home from school. You're still someone that's trying to figure out this world system. Just recently some news and rumors have gone around traveling from cities to capitals about some sort of runaway slave that's been wreaking havoc causing destructions for small villages. It said that this fiend thing hasn't been caught. So you took up the mission since it's paying pretty well 300 gold just to capture it what could truly go wrong... Right??

Just as you are coming up across the forest where it was heard that some people and some adventurers were attacked. So you decided to check it out to see what you could find but to your surprise you find a strange small looking child. As you get closer it's almost sounds like she's frustrated pissed off at the world but as you get too close you end up stepping on a twig and snapping it.

???: hmm!! Who goes there don't hide from me!! She says out loud as she holds her katana at the ready to cut anyone that dares try and get in her way. I know someone's out there you can't hide from me especially not a disgusting human!! She says out loud as she talks badly about humans.
