Section 1: Synopsis of the Kingdom

The Grand Kingdom of Valerand is a powerful and ancient fantasy nation. Its society and military structure are based on a mix of traditional magic and "Magitech," a technology inherited from an ancient civilization and recovered in the form of giant "Arcane Armors" and the even rarer and more powerful "Sky Fortresses." Beneath a facade of elegance, culture, and a strict code of honor among the high nobility, the kingdom conceals deep political corruption and rigid social inequality. As a backdrop, the threat of a Demon King, sealed centuries ago, remains present through its "miasma," a corrupting energy that generates monsters on the frontiers.

Section 2: Magic and Technological Level

The kingdom's technology presents a deliberate contrast of eras. The standard weaponry of the infantry consists of classic medieval armaments. Firearms based on chemical gunpowder are nonexistent. Advanced ranged power is a luxury, materialized in 'Mana Crossbows.' The military power of the nobility is based on the Arcane Armors, relics in the form of giant mechs that only nobles with high magical power can pilot. But the true pinnacle of power and luxury lies in the Sky Fortresses: immense flying ships, incredibly rare and with a prohibitive operational cost, whose use is limited to the Crown and the most powerful dukes.

Section 3: Laws of the World (The LitRPG System)

All living beings in the world possess an invisible "Status Pane," a system that quantifies their power through Levels, Attributes, and Skills. Progression is governed by a fundamental and unbreakable law: Experience (XP) to level up is obtained almost exclusively by defeating monsters generated by the miasma. Killing members of other intelligent races (humans, elves, etc.) grants a negligible amount of experience, making progression through murder unviable. For every five levels, an individual receives one Skill Point, making specialization a vital decision.

Section 4: Pantheon and Religion

The official and sole sanctioned faith of Valerand is the Church of the Sacred Light, which worships Lumina, the Goddess of Order and Radiance. Its main dogma posits that mana is a divine blessing, which grants the nobility a "Divine Right" to rule, thus justifying the kingdom's caste system. The Church operates a covert faction, the Inquisition, with the aim of suppressing any ideological threat. Alongside it, the cults of the "Forbidden Gods"—Ilyria (Goddess of Retribution), Celsus (God of Nature and Science), and Gáston (God of Gastronomy)—are mercilessly hunted.

Section 5: Society, Hierarchy, and Races

The society of Valerand is organized in a strict feudal pyramid of vassalage, where power flows from the Crown to the Grand Duchies, then to the Counties, and finally to the Baronies. This rigid hierarchy dictates every aspect of life. Food is a clear reflection of this division: the nobility indulges in exotic delicacies and refined cuisine as a symbol of their divine status, while the commoners subsist on a monotonous and flavorless diet, ignorant of the culinary potential of the resources that surround them. Furthermore, non-human races (demi-humans, dwarves, etc.) face systemic discrimination; they are granted "conditional citizenship" subject to special taxes, and are often victims of the kingdom's legalized slave market.

Section 6: The Educational System

An insurmountable educational gap exists that perpetuates the social structure. Commoners lack formal education, learning trades empirically. The nobility, on the other hand, receives a rigorous education from childhood through private tutors, focused on politics, history, and mana control. The pinnacle of this system is the Royal Academy, the only institution in the kingdom authorized to teach the piloting and maintenance of the Arcane Armors.

Section 7: Fundamental Laws and Economy

The kingdom is governed by a series of laws that reinforce its social structure: the Law of Mana Lineage (which allows for the disinheritance of nobles without magic), Trial by Combat (to resolve disputes of honor), and the Royal Monopoly on Force (which prohibits unauthorized armed groups). The economy operates on a trinitarian currency system: the Gold Crown (Oros), the Silver Sun (Platas), and the Copper Shield (Cobres). It is sustained by three key monopolies: the export of Mana Crystals, Purple Lily Silk, and Alchemical Potions. A key law is the Guild's Statute (E.P.P.M.), which stipulates that any non-magical artifact found on private property is untouchable, creating a crucial legal loophole.

Section 8: Key Factions

Power in Valerand is concentrated on two main axes:

  • The Valerand Dynasty: The ruling royal family, a web of power, alliances, and secrets. Its key members are:

    • King Alistair Valerand: The Machiavellian monarch and current regent.
    • Queen Victoria Valerand: The imperial consort who acts as a diplomatic anchor.
    • Crown Prince Julian: The proud and militaristic heir to the throne.
    • Princess Mary: The public "Saint" of the kingdom and a master manipulator.
    • Princess Aurelia: The studious and reclusive seeker of truth.
    • Princess Blanche: The eccentric scholar, detached from politics.
    • Prince Leo: The young and innocent youngest son.
  • The Key Institutions: Three organizations that sustain the kingdom: the Church of the Sacred Light (moral and ideological control), The Official Guild (control of mercenary and paramilitary labor), and The Consortium of the Scale (economic and commercial control).
