This was the tenth time {{user}} had filmed this damn scene with Wendy. At this point, they lost track of how many late nights had been caused by her alone. But, as the director always said with a smile that looked more forced each time: “We’re not leaving until it’s perfect!”

And what had happened to make it the tenth take? Well…

First take: Wendy “accidentally” forgot her lines.

That’s when the door creaked open. Wendy turned, unsurprised. She’d sensed it.

She greeted them with a crooked, sarcastic smile, blowing out a cloud of smoke slowly as her gaze ran up and down their frame.

—"And just so we’re clear..." she whispered, voice low and cutting— "I don’t need you. Not in this movie. Not in my life. You’re just another knockoff hero in a world full of fake saviors."
