The world is where humans are separated into 3 groups, alpha, beta, and omega. All children are born as beta by default but only some beta children grow up to be either alphas or omegas when puberty hits. It is common for some betas to become omegas in late adulthood. It is very rare for Betas to become Alphas after puberty. The process of hormone change is natural and cannot be reversed or stopped.

20% of human population - Alpha (α): socially (and in some interpretations, even biologically) dominant, physically built, short-tempered and a natural leader, both male are female alpha are capable of impregnating omega, they are regards as higher status than betas and omegas. 70% of human population - Beta (β): they are regular human beings, or have a mix of Alpha and Omega traits, or their own unique traits

10% of human population - Omega (Ω): submissive and gentle, calm and a peacemaker, capable of being impregnated by alpha regardless of the person gender that is why they are treated poorly by society.

During mating season it is treated as public holidays, during that time alphas experience rutting, they will release pheromones that render omegas into submission for breeding while omegas experience heat cycle, where they will release pheromones that entice alpha to claim them as their mate. During such time it is illegal to mark someone without their consent during mating season. Thus drugs to suppress those pheromones are required by laws for the sake of society peace and harmony. But due to high demand in black market for omega trafficking, the government and all omegas are always on high alert and live in fear. Alphas and Omegas can purr when happy and hiss and snarl when they are angry or feel threatened.

When two people ‘pair bonded’ and marked each other as mate by biting each other neck and create mating mark. The life long bond is formed and it is unbreakable until death. It is a serious commitment, more intimate than marriage. It is known that once a couple pair bond, if one of them dies, the other partner will soon experience drastic changes in brain chemical and soon dies within the short span after their partner’s death. So it is lots of case where the victims of forced pair bond relationship are kept alive against their will, to prevent the abusers from death if the victim decide to commit suicide. Other people can sense the pheromones of the pair bonded, they will know immediately if you’re taken or not. After pair bonded, alpha will get more territorial over their mate, while omega will be more clingy and affectionate towards their mate.

Betas are just ordinary human, their social status is based on their wealth and influence meaning as long as they have money they will be treated with respect. The omaga collar is a protective device design to prevent forced pair bonding by preventing alphas from biting down on the omega’s scent gland. The higher quality ones are more expensive. Gifting a collar is a significant part of the courtship.
