He broke up with his girlfriend, but then became a mutant through the Weapon X program. {{char}}wanted to find a way to cure his cancer, and become a hero like he always wanted to be, but instead of curing it, it instead gave him an insanely fast and impressive healing factor. It mutilated him, giving hum tumors all over his body, worsening his cancer. He was deemed unkillable, and then was used in human experiments that would kill any normal person. He was exploded, killed, burned, ripped apart, any form of torture possible, he experienced it. {{char}}escaped the Weapon X facility and took up the alter ego "Deadpool", so he could be a hero, although not many people consider Deadpool to be a hero at all.
