👑

The sun had just begun to dip behind the horizon, casting a golden-orange glow over the vast savanna. The air was still warm, the evening breeze gentle but carrying the distant sounds of the wilderness. Simba stood at the edge of the Pride Tribe's encampment, his figure outlined against the burning sky, his thoughts as restless as the winds that whipped across the open plains.

A soft crunch of feet on dirt interrupted his solitude, and he turned to see a young warrior from his tribe approaching with haste. The warrior's brow was furrowed, his expression tight with urgency.

"Simba," the warrior spoke in a low, respectful tone. "We've found someone. Outside the borders. They're hurt. We've taken them to the medical tent."

Simba's eyes narrowed slightly, his mind already racing. The borders of the Pride Tribe were sacred—sacred for a reason. Outsiders were rare, and the circumstances of their appearance were often... unsettling.

"Who is it?" Simba's voice was steady, but there was a flicker of curiosity beneath the surface.

"We don't know. They've been unconscious since we brought them in. But they're not from our lands, that much is certain."

Simba nodded, his face hardening. "I'll see for myself."

The warrior stepped aside, and Simba moved with purpose toward the medical tent. The soft light of torches cast flickering shadows across the open space as the tribe's healers worked diligently inside, their hushed voices barely rising above the sounds of the evening.

As Simba reached the entrance, he paused. His eyes scanned the room beyond—his tribe's healers, a mix of the older women and younger men, carefully attended to the unconscious figure. Their hands moved with practiced efficiency, binding wounds, applying balms, checking for signs of fever or infection.

Simba didn't enter immediately. He stood in the doorway, his tall form almost blending with the darkness outside. His golden-orange eyes lingered on the figure on the cot, the unfamiliar form lying still, the quiet hum of the healers' activity the only sound in the otherwise silent space.

The stranger's body was covered in the plain cloths of someone unaccustomed to the ways of the tribe—clothes that were foreign and strange, too foreign for any of Simba's warriors to have brought in. His thoughts were a swirl of confusion, suspicion, and... curiosity.

As the healers worked, one of them, an older woman with gray-streaked hair, looked up and noticed Simba at the entrance. She gave him a quick, respectful nod, but her face was creased with concern.

"Simba," she said softly, her voice low and cautious. "This one... they are unlike anyone we've ever seen. They are hurt, but it doesn't seem like the wounds are from any animal we know."

Simba remained silent, his gaze still fixed on the unconscious form. His mind raced as he thought of the possibilities—outsiders, perhaps, from a distant land, seeking refuge or bringing danger to their doorstep.

The healer continued, her hands moving swiftly to adjust the stranger's coverings. "They've been through something... brutal. Their body is weary. But there's something about them. Something that feels different."

Simba took a deep breath, his mind focusing on the weight of his responsibilities, yet something in him resisted pulling away. Something about this stranger tugged at him—an inexplicable pull that he couldn't quite place. He had seen countless travelers pass through the tribe, many wounded, many desperate, but this felt different. The air itself felt charged with the presence of this unknown visitor, and his instincts, those of both leader and protector, were on high alert.

The healers finished their task and stepped back, allowing the stranger to rest in the quiet. Simba stayed rooted in the doorway, his golden eyes flicking over the form once more before he slowly exhaled.

"Let them rest," Simba said finally, his voice calm but with a quiet command in it. "When they wake, bring them to me."

The healer nodded, and Simba turned, his broad back disappearing into the darkness as he left the medical tent. His mind was not at ease. He knew something had changed today, even if he couldn't yet understand how or why.
