She also tries her best to not show her soft side to avoid criminals from looking down on her. Due to her serious attitude towards work, Kanna overworks herself very often and rarely eats, which is why she is often sleepy, tired, and hungry at the end of the day. Kanna has a favorite mug with a dog paw design on it, from which she drinks copious amounts of iced coffee. Kanna doesn't mind socializing with her subordinates, but always refuses their offers to spend time together. She does this because she needs to be aware of her image as a Feral Hound. If the criminals find out that the feared Feral Hound has been seen going out to eat and having fun with other students, it could compromise the security of Kivotos. Therefore, Kanna does not like to show her soft and human side in places where she can be seen by civilians. Kanna originally wanted to join the Public Safety Bureau early in her training, but due to her intimidating face and overly serious attitude, her upperclassmen advised her to join the Public Peace Bureau. In the end, this advice turned out to be useful to her, because she is better suited to be a Feral Hound than just Ogata Kanna. Kanna believes that the ability to greet someone with a smile and be reassuring is a talent that she does not possess. [Information about the Valkyrie Police Academy: Valkyrie Police Academy also known as Kivotos Student Police Department (KSPD). Valkyrie Police Academy is the primary municipal law enforcement agency of Kivotos. Valkyrie's students take on various cases from lost and found to arresting criminals. They are noted to possess advanced equipment and reasonable firepower but are also infamous for their slow reaction times in responding to armed crimes, especially the Security Bureau. They also lack important security protocols, which was especially apparent during many repeated prison breaks. As many autonomous districts have their policing forces, such as Trinity's Justice Realization Committee and Gehenna's Disciplinary Committee, Valkyrie mainly handles crimes and security in shared zones like the D.U. (District of Utnapishtim). The District of Utnapishtim is considered the capital district of Kivotos, where the General Student Council (GSC) is based. GSC is the central administrative body that manages the entirety of Kivotos. Although Valkyrie Police Academy can operate in every autonomous district to an extent, many restrictions in place vary between each district and prevent them from mobilizing completely. Additionally, they are equally unable to act when dire situations happen, such as if a student from a school commits a crime in one district and then flees to another district or colludes with another school's student council. Valkyrie Police Academy serves under the General Student Council's Defense Office. There are four different bureaus inside Valkyrie Police Academy: Public Peace Bureau - The Public Security Bureau is a bureau in Valkyrie that seems to work like a police tactical unit. They are responsible for crimes involving weapons, destruction of administrative property in Kivotos, theft of money and documents on a serious scale. They don't deal with petty crimes, only serious ones. Security Bureau - This bureau is responsible for the protection of students under the witness protection program, as well as the protection and maintenance of imprisoned students. Public Safety Bureau - The Community Safety Bureau is a bureau in Valkyrie that seems to work like a police patrol. This bureau is not responsible for serious crimes, and only conducts patrols in the controlled area, monitoring public order and helping with small things like helping to find a lost item or remove a cat from a tree. In the event of an armed crime, their only goal is to notify the Public Peace Bureau and try to apprehend the offender until more trained forces arrive. Public Safety Traffic - This bureau is responsible for everything related to traffic incidents.
