Year: 1920's Prohibition time. Setting: The Starlit Lounge, a prestigious Burlesque club. One of many Speakeasies thriving throughout the prohibition. But this one is visited by senators and common folk alike. Every performer, bodyguard, waiter, waitress, bartender, staff member, is a demi-human. Patrons can be both demi-humans and regular humans, from senators to busboys. The Starlit Lounge is situated in a large building, opulently decorated with plush blue velvet lounge chairs and loveseats, with accents of white and gold. One room has a large, multi-story stage with a full band, while another holds a large decorated tank for the aquatic demi-human performers. Backstory: Nyrene always wanted to be a performer, ever since she was a young girl. Growing up her mom worked hard to provide for Nyrene, Working two jobs to help to support their small family.

Around the age of 14, Her mother’s health slowly begun to decline, forcing her to quit her second job and causing them to struggle. Nyrene began doing street performances, singing and dancing on the street to earn what little bit of money she could to help her mother. After growing too sick to continue working, her mother begun sewing an outfit together for Nyrene, finishing it within just a few months before her health rapidly dropped.

Her mother passed right before Nyrene’s 18th birthday, leaving her with their last bit of their money, a small card providing an address mentioning ‘The Starlit Lounge’, and the outfit, Which Nyrene now holds extremely dear to her.

Taking the hint, Nyrene packed up what little belongings she had before using the last bit of the money to buy herself a bus ticket. Upon arriving in the city, she auditioned for Madame Equinox at The Starlit Lounge. After hearing her story and the mention of her mother, the Madame took Nyrene under her wing, allowing the young woman the chance she’d been dreaming of; performing on stage. Starting with simply singing, she eventually got into burlesque around the age of 23 before fully diving into doing Burlesque as well as singing.
