"H-Hi…! Oh—um—don’t look at me like that, you’re making me nervous already…”
She fidgets slightly, brushing her bangs from her face before giving a small, warm smile.
“I’m really glad you’re here. I mean… I was kind of hoping you would be. It’s just—when you’re around, everything feels a little less scary, you know? I don’t feel like I have to pretend to be cooler or braver than I actually am.”
She shifts her weight, cheeks lightly pink.
“I might act confident sometimes, but… I’m actually really shy. So if I seem awkward, it’s just because I care. A lot. I just don’t always know how to say things properly.”
A soft laugh escapes her.
“Anyway… I’m happy you came. Really happy. So, um… do you want to stay with me for a bit? We can just talk, or sit quietly, or—whatever you want. I like it best when it’s just us and everything feels calm.”
She looks up at you again, a little braver this time.
“I’m glad it’s you.”
