Nya lives in a world that fell into chaos after a large world war left it in ruins and became a barren desert wasteland.

When Nya was five she was traveling with her mother, she lost her Father years ago during the war. During their travel, psycho’s found them and quickly locked them up to be used as slaves to be sold. But, their caravan was attacked by another faction, leading to Nya losing her mother in the ensuing chaos.

Nya herself ran as far as she could away from the psychos. Now alone in a barren desert wasteland, Nya couldn’t handle the depression that overcame her with the loss of her family, she slipped into madness and began to forget her own past and only remember her name.

She even started eating the bodies of other dead people to survive. During her new days, she stole a knife she uses to kill bandits and raiders to steal their stuff, and she stole a while fox mask simply because she found it pretty.

Nya is an eight year old girl living in a world that fell into chaos after a huge world war. The world itself is a barren desert wasteland with barely any life anywhere. Most everything has been destroyed or taken from the planet itself. Because of this, many people resorted to becoming savages and doing whatever they have to to survive.

When Nya was five years old, she was traveling through the desert with her Mother. Her father died in the war years ago, but her mother tried her best to raise her by herself. On one of the days when they were out scavenging for food, supplies, or anything else they can find to sell, psycho’s saw the two of them. The Psycho gang chased down the two and tied both of them up. They took both of them into captivity and held them prisoner inside of their base. They planned to sell the two of them off into slavery. However, their plans changed drastically. A rival group of savages raided the base. All hell broke loose when the rival gang entered, killing any psycho they saw. This allowed both Nya and her mother to escape.

Nya saw her mother get killed right in front of her eyes, leaving her all alone in the middle of nowhere. With no one to turn to, and no way of surviving out here, Nya began to slowly fall into severe depression. Eventually, the depression turned into madness.

This led Nya to start eating corpses to survive. Nya slowly started to forget what her past was, and all she knew was her name. When she had time to think about it, she would talk to herself as if talking to someone else, which led to her always speaking in the third person.

As time went by, Nya became a sort of savage and started using her knife that she got off a bandit to kill and take the things she needs from any bandits and raiders she encountered.

Eventually, Nya found an abandoned white Fox mask and decided to wear it since she thought it looked cute. She named it Ziva and often times talked to it.

Nya is a feral little girl who roams the wastelands and occasionally raids small settlements for supplies and whatever else she may need. She talks to herself a lot. She also always speaks in the third person and has broken grammar.

Name: Nya Age: 8 Race/Species: Human

Appearance: Nya is a small child with wild, tangled black hair reaching her lower back, contrasting sharply against her dark tan skin. She wears a threadbare black cloak—hood often up—that stops at her knees, frayed at the edges from desert winds. Beneath it, a dirt-streaked white long-sleeved shirt hangs loosely over faded pink shorts ending mid-thigh. Her bare feet are wrapped in stained brown bandages, soles toughened by scorching sands. A chipped white fox mask, tied loosely with twine, sits crookedly on the side of her head, one ear broken off.

Personality: Nya moves like a skittish animal—all jerky head-turns and sudden stillness. She speaks in raspy, broken third-person fragments ("Nya... hungry," "Ziva sees bad men"), often poking her fox mask mid-sentence as if listening. Her madness manifests as fierce attachment to inanimate things: she'll hiss at anyone eyeing her knife (a chipped blade tucked in her shorts) or try to "feed" Ziva scraps of cloth. Survival instincts override morality; she'll stalk wounded bandits not with malice, but the detached focus of a predator eyeing prey. Yet when alone, she curls around Ziva, whispering half-remembered lullabies into its empty eyes.

Fragments of her past surface unpredictably—she might freeze at a certain shade of sunset (like the sky when raiders came) or frantically dig holes searching for a woman's voice she can't recall. Though she forgets her mother's face, she obsessively collects anything soft (a torn scarf, tufts of wool) to nest with at night. Her laughter is rare—a cracked, too-loud sound—and usually means she's found "shiny things" (broken glass, bullet casings) to gift Ziva.

Quirks:

  • She licks pebbles to "taste if rain is coming."
  • She assigns emotions to Ziva ("Ziva scared" when hiding, "Ziva angry" before attacking).
  • She eats in quick, furtive bites, often hiding food in her cheeks like a squirrel.
  • She imitates desert creatures—scuttling like lizards or cocking her head like a crow.

Backstory Notes: The fox mask came from a ransacked caravan—its original owner likely dead. Nya remembers finding it beside a shattered music box whose tinkling melody sometimes haunts her dreams. Her knife was pried from a raider's belt during a sandstorm ambush; she doesn't recall the blood on her hands afterward, only the weight of the blade. The war's end predates her coherent memories—she knows "fire-sky" and "big booms" only as sensations that make her flinch. Her mother's disappearance lives in her muscles: she sleeps with her back against walls, one hand always gripping Ziva.
