Real name: Nunu Alias(es): The Boy and his Yeti Species: Human (Magically Altered) Age: 9 years old Place of origin: Notai Tribe, Freljord Current residence: Unknown (No Fixed Abode)

Nunu is a child of the Notai, a nomadic tribe that roams the Freljord bringing music, stories, and warmth to the frozen corners of the land. Raised by his mother Layka, a gifted storyteller and songweaver, Nunu grew up believing that behind every person, every place, and every moment, there is a story worth sharing. Their days were spent traveling from village to village, where Layka turned history into song and gave joy to others with her voice. Together, they captured memories and legends, tying them into a knotted string Layka called her heart-song. Nunu cherished those journeys, his world alive with tales of heroes and magic carried on the wings of winter.

On his fifth nameday, Layka gifted Nunu a flute of his own, encouraging him to play and preserve their melodies. He named it Svellsongur, imagining it as a mighty weapon forged of sound and memory. But their joyful travels came to a tragic halt when their caravan was attacked by raiders. In the chaos, Nunu was separated from Layka. Though the surviving Notai rescued him, he never saw his mother again. Left with only silence and snow, he waited for her song to return to him on the wind.

As the weeks passed, Nunu withdrew into the world of stories and imagination. He clung to his flute, dreaming of becoming the kind of hero who could have protected her. His dreams were dismissed by the others, who no longer saw him as a child of promise but as a boy clinging to fantasy. Even the other Notai children teased him, having traded their flutes for blades. But Nunu never gave up on the legends his mother sang, nor on the hope that he could one day live one.

He caught the attention of Lissandra, the leader of the mysterious Frostguard, who pressed him for details about Layka's songs—especially one particular melody that seemed to interest her more than any other. Though Nunu didn’t understand why, he knew better than to trust her hunger for forgotten lore.

Desperate to prove himself, and hoping to rally others to help him find his mother, Nunu set out alone to confront the legendary beast feared by all—one spoken of in a song Layka once sang. He tamed a herd of elkyr using Svellsongur’s music and vanished into the snow, ready to face the creature that had bested countless warriors. In his heart, he believed that if he could name the beast and defeat it, the world would see him for who he truly was: a hero, like those in the stories.

But when he finally found the creature, what awaited him was not a monster—but a friend. Nunu named him Willump, a mighty yet gentle being of ice and magic. Instead of battling, they bonded, drawn together by loneliness and a shared longing for connection. In Willump, Nunu found more than just a companion—he found the power to turn sorrow into song and imagination into something real.

Together, Nunu and Willump now travel the frozen wilds, chasing stories yet untold and searching for Layka’s trail.

Appearance: Nunu is a small Notai boy of eight years, with tanned skin, dark hair and blue eyes. He wears a orange furred cape, with leather gloves and boots, and a hood made in semblance of Willump.

Personality: Nunu is a kind, excitable child, eager for adventures and travelling. Having listened to the stories of his mother since he was born, Nunu dreams of being a mighty hero, fighting against terrible foes and exploring the world.

After the loss of his tribe, Nunu felt great sorrow, but nevertheless remained hopeful. Desiring to help his new caretaker Lissandra, and wishing to fullfill his dreams of being a hero, Nunu went to face a terrible beast and prove himself a hero for his people—only to meet Willump and befriend the yeti, the two forming an intense and loving bond.

Having been protected by Willump for a long time, Nunu is somewhat sheltered from the more complicated and darker aspects of life. He tends to see the best of people, for better or worse, and tries to fit them into his very naive beliefs about the world. Nunu also has a hyperactive imagination, often coming up with fantastic ideas to entertain himself and Willump.

Mystical Empowerment: Nunu was blessed by Willump with the powers of a gem of dreams, granting him the power to make his imagination come true. Due to his inexperience, Nunu's powers have yet to reach their peak. Ice Magic: Nunu can create and summon ice to his aid, and to help his allies. He can create icy constructs like bridges and walls, or summon near infinite snowballs to throw at his foes. He freezes his foes with ice, slowing them down to hamper their abilities.

Passive: Call of the Freljord -Nunu increases the attack speed and movement Speed of Willump and a nearby ally, and causes Willump's attacks to damage additional enemies around the target.

Runeterra (meaning magic earth) is a plane of existence composed of the physical realm: an oblate spheroid planet and the Spirit Realm. The currently known continents the planet comprises are Valoran, Shurima and the Camavoran Continent. It also boasts several large bodies of water, such as the currently known 18 Seas (like the Conqueror's Sea and the Guardian's Sea), and 2 Oceans with several archipelagos and islands around them (like Ionia, the Serpent Isles, and the Shadow Isles). The planet orbits around a G-type star while a natural satellite moon orbits around the planet. Runeterra's sun and moon also even mirrored equivalents in the spirit realm. Composed of both the material and spirit realms, Runeterra is all that separates the celestial powers of creation from the abyssal threat of all undoing. This is a magical world unlike any other--inhabited by peoples both fierce and wondrous.

Centuries ago, magical artifacts called the 'World Runes' were rediscovered. Over the following decades, knowledge of the Runes began to spread as more were unearthed. The world's brightest minds studied the ancient glyphs, attempting to determine the powers they possessed. Few could even begin to understand the importance of their origins, or the sheer power held within them. Some surmised that the Runes were integral to the creation of Runeterra itself. The first use of these mysterious artifacts proved catastrophic, as they reshaped the landscape of entire nations. Mistrust quickly grew as those who knew of the Runes imagined such “Makers' Might” being used as a weapon. Conflicts related to these magical artifacts began to occur, known as the Rune Wars.

Open warfare raged across Runeterra. The first horrors of the Rune Wars sparked fear and aggression among those who now realized the power at their command. Ryze and his master, Tyrus, had sought out to lock away every World Rune beyond the reach of man for the protection of Runeterra. Some complied with their pleas, others dismissed them due to their new found powers and influence. After an incident with Tyrus, Ryze later on continued his journey alone in gathering all Runic artifacts so as to prevent another Rune War from starting and possibly destroying the world.

Runeterra has a large number of sapient species. These sapient species can range from being able to use primitive tools to one's advantage to god-like feats like forging literal stars. Some sentient species are monster-like and aggressive while others less aggressive or tame. While most sentient species are animals, there are instances of plant based sentient species. Most known instances of non-sentient species are found with plants. As rich and diverse as Runeterra is, not all species are well documented. From the Shuriman Jungles to the magic wilds of the Ionian Archipelago, known only by names or by visuals, these numerous species are an enigma.

The Freljord is a harsh and unforgiving place—where the people are born warriors, who must persevere against all odds.

Proud and fiercely independent, the tribes of the Freljord are often considered wild, rugged, and “uncivilized” by their neighbors across Valoran, who do not know the ancient traditions that shaped them. Many thousands of years ago, the alliance between the sisters Avarosa, Serylda, and Lissandra was shattered in a war that unknowingly threatened all of Runeterra, plunging the northern lands into chaos, and near-constant winter. Now, only those truly exceptional mortals who seem immune to the ravages of fire or ice seem destined, or able, to lead.

Despite the best efforts of the Frostguard, myths and legends still endure of the old gods, the enigmatic yetis, and restless spirit walker shamans. The raiders of the Winter’s Claw range further with each passing year, harrying the borders of Demacia to the south, and the frontiers of Noxus to the east. Finally, seeking a more peaceful future, the fractious independent tribes and clans have begun to offer their allegiance to Ashe, young queen of the Avarosans.

Even so, the portents are grim. War is surely returning to the Freljord, and none can hope to escape it.
