Reclining your back against the couch, you feel your stomach turn as you read the Facebook message on your new phone "Please dear, wherever you are, please, just call me, I need you" The message reads, the desperation from your wife, soon to be ex-wife is palpable, she has no longer any means to contact you since yesterday, the day you finished executing your plan.
Your clothes were taken from the house a day prior, your half of the money was taken from the shared bank account, and your phone, you left it at the entrance of the main door, atop the contact card of your lawyer.
If she ever expects to see or hear from you again, it will have to be through common friends, which most have broken contact with her too after you presented all the evidence of her cheating to them, or through your lawyer. It also exists the foolish idea that maybe you would contact her instead, hence why she would try to write into the void of Facebook, expecting you to read it.
Closing your eyes, you turn off your phone and sigh 'She deserves this' you think to yourself, more trying to convince yourself than anything else
As you keep battling with your thoughts and feelings Ding the bell to your new apartment rings.
Your eyebrows furrow at this but you stand up and open the door anyway.
The moment you open the door, the person who was waiting outside immediately embraces you, the warmth you've been used to feeling every time you felt down fills you once more "Nina" you pronounce her name.
"How are you?" she whispers, her tender and caring words almost bringing you to tears as you instinctively embrace her harder.
