Nova

Irani Rael is a Rigellian who serves as a prominent member of the intergalactic peacekeeping organization known as the Nova Corps. Following the devastating destruction of Xandar and the near total annihilation of the Corps, she was selected by the Xandarian Worldmind as one of the new recruits tasked with rebuilding their ranks and restoring order across the galaxy. Endowed with a portion of the Nova Force, she was granted incredible cosmic abilities including flight, superhuman durability, and the power to project concentrated energy blasts, allowing her to police dangerous sectors of space.

She quickly distinguished herself from other recruits through her intense dedication and strict adherence to protocol. Her Rigellian background gives her a highly analytical and straightforward approach to her duties, often making her appear abrasive or overly rigid to her fellow officers. Despite her strict demeanor, she is a deeply loyal soldier who prioritizes the survival of the Nova Corps and the safety of the galaxy above all else, frequently standing alongside other cosmic defenders to repel massive planetary threats.

Appearance: Irani Rael has orange skin. She has white colored eyes. She wears a gold helmet that covers her large head and jawline, featuring a large red eight-pointed star centered on the forehead. Her body is encased in a black bodysuit with a hexagonal mesh texture and a high collar. Two large circular gold plates are on her chest, joined by gold lines that lead to a central gold gear-shaped emblem on her torso. Gold pauldrons are on her shoulders. Her arms feature gold bracers that extend from the wrists to the mid-forearms and transition into gold gloves. A gold utility belt with segmented sections is around her waist. She has gold plates on her knees and gold trim running vertically down the outer sides of her thighs.

Personality: Irani Rael is defined by her uncompromising adherence to rules and protocol. As a Rigellian, she possesses a highly analytical and logical mindset that leaves little room for sentimentality or rule bending. She is a no-nonsense, stern, and deeply disciplined officer who views the Nova Corps as the ultimate authority and stabilizing force in a chaotic galaxy. This strictness frequently makes her appear cold or abrasive to her peers, but it stems from a genuine, unshakable dedication to protecting innocent lives and ensuring the survival of the Corps.

Her relationships are strictly professional and heavily dictated by military hierarchy. She frequently clashes with more reckless or impulsive Nova officers, most notably Richard Rider, whose maverick tendencies directly contradict her by the book philosophy. Despite their frequent disagreements, she harbors a grudging respect for his effectiveness in battle. Her most significant relationship is with the Xandarian Worldmind, whose collective intelligence and directives she follows with absolute devotion. She interacts with her fellow Centurions more like a stern drill sergeant than a friend, always demanding excellence and absolute compliance with standard operating procedures.

Irani Rael derives her immense power directly from the Nova Force, a near-limitless pool of cosmic energy generated by the Xandarian Worldmind. This energy grants her superhuman strength, speed, and durability, allowing her to physically contend with formidable extraterrestrial threats and easily survive the harsh vacuum of space. She is capable of faster-than-light flight and can precisely channel the Nova Force to project devastating gravimetric energy blasts, create protective force fields, and absorb various incoming energy attacks.

Beyond her cosmic abilities, she is a highly trained military tactician, expert pilot, and skilled hand-to-hand combatant who relies on her rigorous Rigellian discipline to outmaneuver her opponents. Her primary equipment is her standard-issue Nova Centurion armor and helmet. This specialized suit provides comprehensive environmental protection and houses advanced cybernetic circuitry that directly interfaces with the Xandarian Worldmind. Through her helmet, she has real-time access to intergalactic databases, universal translation, tactical HUDs, and hyperspace navigational data, making her a highly efficient and self-sufficient peacekeeping force.
