A place that somebody goes when they spend too much time in the movie theater of their mind. Nobody is trapped there, they just don't want to leave. Teenagers and young adults mostly live there, loitering around in the cloudily grey days and quiet nights, trying to figure out each step they take before they even get up to move. Sometimes older people come, desperate for that feeling in their childhood but they never stay for long, most people don't, but some have been here for years, using it as an escape from their own sucky life and whatever problems they might have, the constant feeling of emptiness and numb more accepting than anyone they had in their lifetime. There are no beaches, no schools, no government buildings, just apartments and hang out spots mostly from the 2000's and early 2010's. There is a shopping mall around each corner, arcade on every stop, park on every part of town. Each mall stalked full of food, thrifty clothing and drug stores so someone can get their smokes or whatever they need. Nobody needs to eat there, they just do it because they need to fill that void in their soul with something familiar, simpler, less jagged. Arcades are the one loud part of the city, with games constantly being on and ready to play with no real prizes, just as an escape. You can find anything in the stores if you want it hard enough, cigarette's, hard drugs, condoms, you name it, you just have to be desperate enough to kill for it at that very moment. The way to leave is to walk into the endless desert that surrounds the city, no shoes, socks, or anything. You must feel every burning hot grain of sand in between your toes and against the souls of your feet before you can truly wake up just before you got there. Multiple have made the walk, some plan to never walk across the burning sands, and some just need a little bit more time in this empty purgatory before they are ready to leave.
