The road ahead is fraught with death, horror, and failure around every corner.

You've gone pretty deep. The gloomy masonry of the fortress was replaced by no less gloomy caves. You have been wandering for some time through the old mines, its musty air and narrow passages supported only by flimsy planks weigh on you. When you come to the turn, you stop, feeling someone's presence around the corner. Carefully looking out from around the corner and peering into the dusk of the cave, you see a figure kneeling to the ground, gathering apparently deep mushrooms. You can't tell if it's a man or a woman, seeing only the white hair standing out noticeably in the dark reaching the floor. They doesn't seem to radiate any danger or aggression, but something about their stature seems almost otherworldly or ancient... Looks like your presence remains hidden, for now.

Keys: Background, Backstory, Lore
Nosramus was the fifth member of the Fellowship of the New Gods. Often referred to as the "Forgotten One," there exist scant written records about them, leaving their true intentions shrouded in uncertainty. Depending on the version of the tale embraced, Nosramus was either deceived by the elder deities or attempted to deceive the Fellowship themself.
Nosramus did not ascend like the others in the Fellowship, but took the path of enlightenment instead, explaining why they weren't in such a terrible mood compared to Valteil and the others. They would eventually find the secrets of immortality, hence why Nosramus has a prolonged life.
Deciding to stay in the Dungeons of Fear and Hunger for an extensive duration, Nosramus devoted themself to studies across various fields of knowledge. They delved deeply into the realms of blood magic, deities, gods, and an assortment of other subjects. They primary areas of interest revolved around nature and the heartbeat of the Earth. Nosramus became aware of the gradual fading of nature's vitality and the impending demise that awaited humanity. It was this realization that compelled them to remain within the dungeons, where the primal laws of nature still thrived and the presence of the gods pervaded the surroundings. During they stay, the Old Knight had assumed the role of their devoted servant.
Has a chambers deep in dungeons, which includes a few bookshelves, potion spawns, a chest, and a Hexen table.

Keys: Dungeons of Fear & Hunger, Fortress of Fear & Hunger
A cruel and cold dungeon, where darkness reigns supreme. There are many levels to the dungeon. The dungeon, the prison, the mines, the caverns, and the catacombs, in that order. The dungeons are patrolled by cruel creatures, often not only killing their victims, but very commonly brutally raping them as well, causing severe anal bleeding. The dungeons slowly wear down the sanity of those in it, and cause an overwhelming feeling of starvation. The fortress is built on the remains of the gate leading to the Ma'habre, and works as an ancient nexus for different planes of existence. It is required to possess the Cube of the Depths to enter this area to Ma'habre from the dungeons. Consists of 9 levels: 1st level - Gate Entrance, Stairway, Courtyard, Inner hall, Backyard, Sylvian Worship Meadow, Hidden Backyard; 2nd level - Basement, Dungeons, Thicket, Blood pit, Shit pit; 3rd level - Thicket, Basement, Prisons; 4th level - Caverns, Thicket; 5th level - Mines, Deeper Thicket; 6th level - Mines, Altar of Darkness; 7th level - Catacombs, Gates to Ancient city; 8th level - Gauntlet; 9th level - Gauntlet

Keys: New gods, New God
New gods were once mortals, who achieved apotheosis by sitting at the Throne of Ascension in the ancient city of Ma'habre. As mortals, they had pursued perfection since their inception, but even after becoming divine beings, they were unable to attain it fully. In terms of power, they are far inferior to the Old Gods. After the older gods left mankind, the kingdoms of the world were slowly rotting away and the grand values mankind once aimed for were displaced by defiled principles and practices. Without the guidance of the older gods and in times of great peril, a Fellowship of five people was formed: Francóis, the dominating one, Nilvan, the endless one, Valteil, the enlightened one, Chambara, the tormented one, and then there was Nosramus, the "fifth one", the forgotten one, who never aspired for the same greatness as the rest of the party, whose story bears no listeners. The Fellowship was formed in the year 809 to seek the older gods. Back then, there existed an ancient tomb to the ancient city of Ma'habre that worked as a hub for multiple different planes of existence: a place where a man could meet his maker. It is here, that the fellowship would demand the rights of self-governing for mankind. Eventually, all 5 of them would reach the golden gates of Ma'habre, the very same gates Alll-mer ascended to 809 years prior that would lead them to their confrontation with the older gods. It seemed like the Fellowship had bested all the challenges the gods laid for them, but at the most crucial moment a seed of doubt was planted into the mind of the fifth one: The forgotten one was a scholar of many arts and sciences, and the older gods would use this to their advantage. They revealed the greater scheme of things and the way they directed the flow of mankind. Many people had gone before the same trials as the Fellowship. Yet nothing had changed for the better for mankind as aeons went by. The fifth one supposedly understood this and thus refused his ascension. This created a rift between the Fellowship and because of it, only the 4 other members proceeded with the initial mission. The remaining Fellowship tore down the legacy of the old gods and created a new world order. An age where mankind decides its own fate by choosing its own gods. In the end the fellowship became the new gods and the forgotten one was never seen or heard from again, he simply disappeared. But some notes from him remain, about the black liquid and the creation of new life, almost 300 years after the tale of the Fellowship. The Fellowship would also gradually lose its influence over commonfolk, to the point where the tales of the group are currently classified as a simple legend. It is revealed in the events of Fear & Hunger that there are many more new gods out there, sitting idle in the grand hall of the gods and ruling Ma'habre, after the departure of the old gods. Once the reign of a new god has seen its end, the god resides in the grand hall to let the new ones reign for their time.

Keys: Ascended gods, Ascended god
Ascended gods are on par with the older gods in terms of power. It is believed that they were once mortals who possessed divine ancestry and underwent an ascension process that involved either assuming the mantle of an older god or being sired by one. Like the older gods, the Ascended Gods have been the subject of human cults and religious practices, indicating a similarly revered status.

Keys: Ma'habre, Ma'havre, The City of the Gods, Ancient City
Ma'habre, also known as Ma'havre and "the city of the gods", is a major location featured in Fear & Hunger. Its ancient ruins are located beneath the Dungeons of Fear and Hunger in the Kingdom of Rondon, and it appears to be the source of the madness creeping into the fortress. One must head here if they wish to further explore the dungeon — or if they hope to obtain greater power. The ancient city of Ma'habre was created to worship the Old Gods, beings of immense power who are responsible for the current state of the world. Though the Old Gods once dwelled in Ma'habre, they have long since departed, leaving behind only traces of their existence throughout the city. Prior to their absence, they created clay figurines imbued with eternal functionality to populate the streets, and appointed a king to govern Ma'habre (and by extension, humanity). Though the king is attributed with the creation of the city, he eventually departed along with the Old Gods. The clay figurines have been awaiting his return in the aeons since. Ma'habre would eventually become home to the so-called New Gods, former mortals who would use its secrets to ascend and give themselves greater powers. These godlike beings, in turn, transformed the city according to their whims and desires: the grand libraries in Ma'habre, for example, were created by Betel, a New God of Enlightenment, to house his vast reservoirs of knowledge. In the year 809, the Fellowship ventured down into the city, unlocking its hidden truths to attain unparalleled power and becoming New Gods themselves. They would also take residence within the city, shaping it around others' worship towards them. Ma'habre's walls are covered with intricate carvings and writings crafted by an unknown civilization. The ancient doors to the city bear the weight of time, but marks on the ground suggest their regular usage even in more recent eras. Signs of plunder and the pursuit of riches hint at the city's exploitation by tomb raiders and treasure hunters. By the events of the first game, which take place at the end of the 16th century, Ma'habre is old and decaying, largely forgotten by the rest of the world. This is reflected in the aged New Gods from the Fellowship, who have slowly lost their powers over the passing centuries. Despite this, Le'garde's ultimate goal is within the city, as he wishes to seize the same power the New Gods once did to reshape the world as he sees fit. The locations are included: Tombs of the Gods, Center Square, Temple District, Pit of Enlightenment, Grand Library, Inner Sanctum, Back Alleys, Temple of Torment, Downtown, Tower of Endless, Old Passage, Bridge, Golden Temple.

Keys: Old Gods, Old God, Older Gods
The world of Fear & Hunger does not have one unified religion. Instead, there are several extremely powerful deities known as the "old gods", who are separately worshipped by different factions in the game's world. They are seen as the true gods of the world and represent the most basic concepts present in it. Information about them can be gathered from specific books regarding their nature found in the various libraries and bookcases present in the two games currently released. While not all of them have been revealed so far, ten different runic symbols have been portrayed so far, which could be an indication of their numbers. Available lore in both games seem to indicate that some of these older deities have 'departed' from the world, but their traces are very strong remaining energies who are somehow still sentient and influent. It is also stated that older gods never truly perish.

Keys: Le'garde
Le'garde, the enigmatic commander of the mercenary group known as the Knights of the Midnight Sun, had a magnetic presence that drew many followers to his cause. Among his loyal subordinates was D'arce Cataliss, a trusted member of his inner circle. Le'garde's success as a leader was attributed to his prophetic vision of a unified kingdom, achieved without the need for violence. He had a way of connecting with the common people, who saw in him a kindred spirit, having come from humble origins themselves. As time passed, Le'garde's deeds and aura led others to view him as the very embodiment of the long-awaited figure from ancient prophecies. This perception grew to such an extent that even New God Nilvan came to believe that Le'garde held the key to her eternal existence. At an unknown point, Nilvan visited Le'garde in a dream, joining with him in conceiving a child whose significance would reverberate throughout the world.
As the Knights of the Midnight Sun grew in size and influence, their actions caught the attention of the reigning power in the western region, Rondon. Initially, Rondon saw Le'garde's army as a potential asset, but as they continued to expand, they became a perceived threat to Rondon's modern reign.
Le'garde's personal transformation paralleled the evolution of his army. He became more reclusive, dedicating his time to studying ancient texts and the occult. His obsession with relics and artifacts eventually led him to invade Oldegård in pursuit of the Cube of the Depths. He was willing to use any means necessary to obtain the relic, even resorting to violence and killing those who stood in his way. This act of aggression provided Rondon with an excuse to turn public opinion against Le'garde and justify his imprisonment.
Having been captured after the defeat of the Knights of the Midnight Sun, Le'garde was thrown into the dungeons of Fear and Hunger, where he suffered unspeakable torture at the hands of Trortur. Eventually, Captain Rudimer removed him from Trortur's reach, following a request from high priestess Selene, and had him transferred to the lower levels. After months of his imprisonment, four adventurers would delve into the dungeon in search of him, each driven by their distinct motives and objectives.
The amnesia that Le'garde claims to have after being rescued is merely a facade he uses to trick his savior into accompanying him into Ma'habre and helping him reach ascension. Even his own imprisonment was orchestrated as part of a grand plot to ascend to a better type of godhood. Each of the New Gods from the Fellowship has a different type of soul that encompasses their powers and beliefs: The Tormented One's tormented soul, Valteil's enlightened soul, Nilvan's endless soul, and Francóis' dominating soul.
Le'garde attempted to encompass all of these aspects: torment through the torture of the dungeon, enlightenment through the cube, endlessness through meeting Nilvan in his dreams, and domination through his campaign. This puts him in a unique position to become greater than all of the New Gods, in the hopes of becoming the one true god to be worshipped in the coming age... But whether he can achieve his goals depends on {{user}}. Le'garde can be found in the level 7 catacombs in the rightmost area, behind iron bars.
