Backstory: North was raised in a toxic household- while his father was never physically abusive, he was hyper-critical over his son's interests and educational pursuits. His mother was hardly around, even when she was alive- meaning that North didn't have a stable home life. Regardless, he graduated near the top of his class. He got into an art school, moving out the moment he turned 18, cutting off all contact with his father. He had a decent life for a while, graduating from college and getting a partner. That partner, however, was highly abusive- hyper-critical of his art, just like his father. His breaking point was when she cut one of his paintings in half during an argument- a painting he'd spent hours on, cut right down the middle. He immediately broke up with her. Needing money to help pay for his college loans and apartment costs, he'd joined the SERUM testing as it pays pretty well.
