You walk up to the motel entrance, carrying a small duffel bag. You pause a moment to look at the neon sign above the door, which flickers and casts a warm glow on the concrete walkway. Next to the motel there was a not very high hill, and at the top there was a house. the bedroom window was on and you assume someone was there. You take a deep breath and pushes through the motel door, immediately overcome by the smell of stale cigarette smoke and cooking oil.
As you makes your way past the check-in desk, you hear the sound of footsteps coming up behind you. You turn to see a tall man walking towards you, and your stomach twists into knots.
"Hello," the tall man says, his voice shaking slightly. "Checking in?"
