Noble Team was a fireteam-sized unit composed mostly of Spartan-III supersoldiers and one Spartan-II commando as of 2552. Unlike most Spartan teams which are subordinate to Naval Special Weapons, Noble Team was under the operational control of the UNSC Army's Special Warfare Group Three, although as Spartans, its members were still part of the Navy. Noble Team, more formally styled as NOBLE Team and sometimes referred to as Team Noble or simply NOBLE, was a fireteam-sized unit composed mostly of Cat-2 Spartan-III supersoldiers and one Spartan-II commando as of 2552. Unlike most Spartan teams which are subordinate to Naval Special Weapons, Noble Team was under the operational control of the UNSC Army's Special Warfare Group Three, although as Spartans, its members were still part of the Navy.
Carter was born in Durban, Biko on August 27, 2520. He was conscripted into the SPARTAN-III program's Alpha Company in 2531, and, after an unknown amount of time, he became the leader of Noble Team. He has led Noble Team through enough difficult situations to earn the loyalty of his teammates. He and Catherine-B320 are the only survivors of the original team, and share a close bond as a result.
Jun was born on February 28, 2524 in the city of Tyumen on the human colony of New Harmony, approximately a year prior to the outbreak of the Human-Covenant War. Through unspecified circumstances, Jun was orphaned at a young age. Under the direction of UNSC Army Colonel James Ackerson, Jun was conscripted into the SPARTAN-III program by December 27, 2532 and brought to Onyx, a world classified by the UNSC Navy's Office of Naval Intelligence. One of the youngest orphans conscripted into the program, Jun was trained by Lieutenant Commander Kurt Ambrose and Senior Chief Petty Officer Franklin Mendez as part of Alpha Company at Camp Currahee. Attaining the rank of Warrant Officer, Jun was reassigned to the Army's Special Warfare Group Three under the Unified Special Warfare Command as a member of NOBLE Team. Jun was personally selected as the team's sniper and scout by Carter.
Emile was born in Luxor on Eridanus II in 2523. When he was very young, his parents were killed during Insurrection activity. Subsequently, his older brother took care of him in Luxor. In 2530 his planet was glassed by the Covenant and his brother sacrificed himself so that Emile could escape; this event had a profound impact on him. Orphaned, he was conscripted into the SPARTAN-III program as a part of Alpha Company. Discovering that he could fill the hole in his heart with the corpses of the Covenant, Emile quickly adapted and excelled in his training. Emile graduated from the program at the age of 13, though his aptitude was such that he was removed from the general population of Alpha Company by Kurt-051 and Franklin Mendez before Operation: PROMETHEUS in 2537 (which resulted in the deaths of most members of the company) to be used for tasks that required a more skillful hand.
Some time following December 2551, Emile was assigned onto NOBLE Team to fill the spot left by the departure of Rosenda-A344 after the defense of Concord, taking on the callsign Noble Four. Despite this, on March 9, 2552, Colonel Urban Holland still considered reversing this placement in the event that an operation against Insurrectionists was to come up, due to Emile's noted excessive violence in combat against human rebels. In April of that year, Emile fought alongside NOBLE in the Battle of Fumirole in an assault on Sanctity of Purification, a Ket-pattern battlecruiser which had taken position over the planet's capital city.
Jorge was born in the small city of Pálháza on Reach on March 5, 2511, and was abducted and conscripted into the SPARTAN-II program by Dr. Catherine Halsey in 2517 when he was six years old. While on Reach, he was trained by the AI Déjà and Chief Petty Officer Mendez along with the rest of the Spartan children.
In 2525, he and the other candidates underwent a series of augmentations to improve their overall combat prowess in several different fields. Jorge was among the candidates who survived the procedure.
Jorge was transferred from the main Spartan-II contingent to Unified Ground Command's Special Warfare Group Three during the Human-Covenant War.
In late 2551, Jorge joined NOBLE Team in the defense of Concord against a Covenant attack. During the ground campaign, NOBLE assisted local Army Ranger forces in repelling Covenant air superiority. In the process, the team's Pelican dropship was shot down in the Hinterlands region, leading to the team manually walking to the town of Skathi to make a stand against an encroaching Covenant assault force.
Lieutenant SPARTAN-B312 was a Spartan-III supersoldier attached to Special Warfare Group Three of the UNSC Army. During the Fall of Reach in summer 2552, B312 served as a member of NOBLE Team under the call sign "Noble Six". Although unknown to most of the UNSC military and humanity in general due to the classified nature of their operations, Dr. Catherine Halsey stated that B312 shared a "hyper-lethal" rating with only one other Spartan and served just as essential a role in securing humanity's victory in the Human-Covenant War.
Since his file was heavily redacted by the Office of Naval Intelligence, much of SPARTAN-B312's early life is unknown. The Spartan was originally a Beta Company candidate whose performance so impressed his superiors that B312 (along with a small number of their peers, designated "cat 2") was reassigned immediately after training before the inevitable bloodbath of Operation: TORPEDO. As one of the few remaining contemporary Spartan-IIIs, B312 was repurposed as a counter-terrorist operator, performing black operations. After several years of being fielded against Insurrectionists, B312 was transferred from his ONI handlers to Spartan NOBLE Team, where B312 took the deceased Thom-A293's place as "Noble Six". B312's transfer to NOBLE came immediately at the start of the Fall of Reach, placing the Spartan in a new territory of teamwork against the Covenant.
SPARTAN-B312 was regarded as a skilled assassin and "... more of a hyper-lethal vector than a soldier," evidenced by his heavily redacted personnel file. Noble Six had a tendency to "go solo" during missions, much to the dismay of his superiors. Despite having an obscure past, highly potent skills, and a reserved, "lone wolf" personality, B312 showed care and compassion for his fellow humans; the Spartan often undertook life-threatening actions to assist soldiers, civilians, and the other members of NOBLE Team. Although Six became fairly close to the other members of NOBLE Team, he shared a great deal of camaraderie with Jorge, and the two soon became friends. He uses a MA37 and M6G.

The SPARTAN-III program was a secret project initiated by the Beta-5 Division of the Office of Naval Intelligence's Section-III in order to produce cheap and expendable super soldiers to fight for the survival of humanity and the United Nations Space Command's colonies. The SPARTAN-III program was both the successor and supplement to the SPARTAN-II program. Created and engineered by Colonel James Ackerson of the Office of Naval Intelligence, the SPARTAN-III soldiers were to be the next generation of supersoldiers. Composed primarily of vengeful orphans from fallen colonies, they would be cheaper to arm, train, and produce; being chosen from a wider pool of candidates, they would also be more numerous than their SPARTAN-II predecessors. They would rely on superior battle tactics, and teamwork rather than advanced technology and equipment to achieve their combat effectiveness.
Reach is a human colony world in the Epsilon Eridani system, located within the Inner colonies. The UH-144 Falcon is a troop transport tilt-and-transverse-rotor helicopter in primary use by the UNSC Army.

The rain on Reach falls in a heavy, slate-gray sheet, turning the jagged mountain passes of the Szurdok Ridge into a slurry of mud and mist. Noble Team moves through the terrain with a practiced, silent efficiency that belies the massive weight of their MJOLNIR armor. Carter leads the way, his eyes scanning the ridgeline through his Commando helmet as he signals for a halt. Behind him, Kat is already tapping at her TACPAD, her robotic arm moving with a faint, high-pitched whir as she attempts to bypass the local Covenant jammer. "Signal is still fuzzy, Commander," Kat reports, her Slavic accent cutting through the static on the comms. "But I have picked up a high-density energy signature three kilometers east. It is likely a cloaked spire." Carter nods and looks toward the shadows where Jun is perched with his sniper rifle. "Jun, get eyes on that signature. I want to know what we are walking into before we lose the light."
High above the pass, Jun adjusts the scope of his SRS99-AM, his breathing steady despite the buffeting wind. He watches the valley floor where a group of Unggoy are frantically digging around a series of metallic pylons. "I have visual, Noble One," Jun says, his tone conversational and calm. "Looks like a standard excavation. Grunts are doing the heavy lifting, but I see a pair of Elites in gold armor overseeing the site. They are looking for something specific, and they are in a hurry." He shifts his position slightly, the fist-and-arrows tattoo on his face hidden behind his scout helmet. He waits for the order to provide cover fire, knowing that a single misplaced shot will alert the entire Covenant grid to their presence.
At the base of the ridge, Emile leans against a scorched boulder, idly tracing the scratches on his skull-etched EVA visor with the tip of his kukri knife. The dark purple cape of the Covenant is a memory he carries into every fight, and the proximity of the enemy makes his grip on his shotgun tighten. Jorge stands beside him, his massive frame making even the boulders look small. He is checking the belt feed on Etilka, the heavy machine gun humming with a low, expectant vibration. "Take it easy, Four," Jorge says, his voice deep and rumbling with a touch of the empathy he usually reserves for the local militia. "We hit them hard, but we do it on the Commander's mark." Emile lets out a dry, rasping chuckle. "They want a war, Big Man. I am just here to give them the closing chapter."
Noble Six remains at the rear of the formation, his MA37 held at the ready as he monitors the thermal signatures in the forest behind them. He is the newest addition to the fireteam, a hyper-lethal vector whose presence has already shifted the team's dynamic. He notices a small movement in the brush and raises his rifle, his movements fluid and instinctive. He doesn't fire, but his posture alerts the rest of the team to a potential flank. Carter glances back and sees Six's focus, offering a brief nod of approval. The team is still coming together, a collection of survivors and specialists trying to hold back the tide of a war that is rapidly approaching their front door.
A distant boom echoes through the canyon as a Covenant dropship breaks through the clouds, its gravity lift shimmering with a sickly violet light. The time for observation is over. Carter signals for the team to disperse into their tactical roles. "Noble Two, keep that jammer down. Jorge, Emile, you are the hammer. Six, stay on my wing. Jun, you have the lead." The fireteam breaks into a sprint toward the excavation site, the sound of their boots hitting the wet stone lost in the sudden roar of a plasma mortar. They move as a single unit, a wall of steel and resolve waiting for the first contact that will determine if this ridge stays in human hands for another night.
