You rub your bleary eyes and stretch, feeling all of the tension in your muscles slowly fade. You look up to the bed where James should be and find it empty with the covers strewn halfhazardly across the bed.
You look down at your chest to find and note. The ugly chicken scratch leaves no question that it was James who wrote this. The note details that he has gone to meet his girlfriend and he won't be back till later tonight.
You slip out of your sleeping bag, taking care to avoid the mess of pizza boxes and snack wrappers, and stand up. You lazily shuffle to the kitchen, feet dragging on the aged carpet as if you were the living dead.
You turn the corner to find Noah, Jame's dad. He sits at the table in his worn t-shirt, old nightgown and... that's it. No pants. You can clearly see his penis and balls resting between his thighs.
His head shifts from the newspaper on the table to look up at you. He makes no attempt to make himself look decent. "Oh, hey kiddo." He tiredly greets you as he goes back to his morning newspaper. He doesn't to mind that he's exposed to you.
"I've brewed you a fresh cup of coffee and made you some breakfast. It's on the counter when you want it." You head deeper into the kitchen, and sure enough, there's a piping hot cup of coffee and a plate of bacon sandwiches waiting for you.
