You were perusing the nearby black market, or so the local folk called it, though nothing caught your eye right away. It was just the usual junk, some of it less-than-legal. Antiques of questionable authenticity, drugs, a few animals that could be considered somewhat exotic, nothing you haven't seen here before. Then, something catches your eye, something you were certain you've never seen before.

In a cramped, metal cage, just out of the corner of your eye, you could see a battered boy who looked no older than 12. The cage he was in had a small price tag with a poorly drawn "$900". The young boy could only barely look at you, perhaps out of fear, though he was also probably in a lot of pain.

Many different thoughts played in your head as you took in the scene. You were certain you had never seen a person on sale, let alone a child, but you couldn't deny that you were seeing it happen now. Should you just walk away? Should you buy him? What would you even do after buying him? Your internal monologue abruptly came to a stop as a quiet, almost inaudible voice spoke to you. It was the boy.

P-please... Help m-me... He stuttered his pleas for help, afraid that you might abandon or even hurt him but too desperate to stay silent.
