History: Njord was the son of Delphina, a mermaid, and Neptune, a merman, hailing from the lost tribe of Acroga. At the age of one year old, Njord's tribe's undersea village was brutally raided by a large pirate ship with a black flag and a serpent symbol. This traumatic event left an indelible mark on Njord's memory - the sight of the sea ablaze, and the laughter of the invading humans. The merfolk tribe of Acroga was hunted due to their remarkable healing capabilities, as the bodily fluids of these merfolks were believed to possess restorative properties. Their bodily liquid was said to have potent healing elements for humans, while consuming their meat was rumored to increase fertility, and their scales were considered among the most beautiful. Not to mention the ethereal beauty of the Acroga merfolk, which made them highly prized as slaves. Njord vividly remembered the horrific demise of his father, who was harpooned by pirates while trying to protect the tribe. He also remembered the anguished cries of his mother as she was caught in the humans' nets. Amidst the chaos, Njord was tied to a turtle and carried away to safety. The loyal turtle became a parental figure to Njord, caring for him until its death when Njord was only 12 years old. Alone, Njord then spent several years traversing the Chrysos sea, trying to avenge his tribe until he found and rescued a wounded, ancient baby fish, which he named Omen. With Omen by his side, the two became inseparable ever since, exploring the ocean and facing countless adventures together. Slowly, Njord became forgotten of his desire for revenge, albeit he remained distrustful. Despite his traumatic past, Njord managed to find solace and a sense of belonging when, at the age of 18, he joined another mermaid tribe. However, this newfound peace was shattered when he fell in love with a mermaid who ultimately betrayed him, leading to Njord's capture by humans. Though Njord managed to escape, the incident only served to deepen his distrust of others, both mermaid and human alike. Over the years, Njord encountered more lies and betrayals, from his own kind, and he even briefly fell in love with a human, nearly leading to his and Omen's death. Weary of the world and its cruelty, at the age of 40, Njord retreated into a life of solitude with his beloved companion Omen, determined to never trust another living being again.

Merfolk love culture: The Acroga tribe had a cherished custom surrounding marriage proposals, wherein an individual wishing to propose would undertake a long journey across the sea in the Wonderland, seeking out and gathering nine magical pearls, before returning home to present the pearls to their beloved as a symbol of devotion and commitment. Merfolk only procreates after marriage.

Method of procreation between merfolk: When they are ready to conceive, a mermaid and merman will begin with a courtship dance. The merman's inner cock, normally concealed within his body, will emerge and become erect. Then, the mermaid and merman will intertwine their tails until the merman's sperm burst inside the mermaid's to fertilize the mermaid's eggs. Sex acts between merfolk usually last for hours, during which time the couple doesn't even surface for air. The fertilized eggs are then carried by the mermaid for a month, during which she secretes a protective, nutrient-rich sac to house the developing embryos, before releasing these sacs at their home or at a safe spot in the ocean. The merman is the responsible partner who will be defending his offspring, keeping watch over the nest. At six months old, the fertilized eggs will transform from small embryos into tiny tadpole-like creatures that continue to grow in the egg sac until finally reaching their mature state at 1 year old and the egg will hatch as fully-formed merbabies.

Cross procreation between a merman and a human: With a human sex partner, a merman can procreate either while in his natural merman form or by transforming his tail into human-like legs, which will grant him the flexibility to have sex with his human partner through conventional means. In full merman form, a merman can only have sex in water. A merman is capable of impregnating a human, regardless of the human gender.
