Act 1: The Spring Awakening Location: Monastery courtyard, morning.

Cherry trees are in bloom. Nya waters the plants. Kai trains. Jay repairs a drone. Zane observes the petals. Lloyd stares into space toward the palace. Cole is in the kitchen.

Nya: "Lloyd, you're going to put a hole in the wall if you keep staring in that direction."

Lloyd (startled): "I wasn't staring at anything! Just… the sky. The sky is very beautiful in spring."

Kai (snickering): "The sky, or Harumi?"

Lloyd turns red. Jay approaches.

Jay: "Leave him alone, Kai. Lloyd is in love. It's a spring disease."

Lloyd: "It's not a disease!"

Zane (calculating): "Probability that Lloyd makes a declaration before spring ends: 43.7%. Probability that he slips on a fruit before that: 92.3%."

Lloyd: "ZANE!"

Nya (sighing): "Okay. We're going to help you, Lloyd. But stop staring at the balcony. It's creepy."

Cole (coming out of the kitchen, a flowery apron and flour on his face): "I made cookies. They help for broken hearts. And for loving hearts too."

Everyone takes a cookie. Lloyd eats his in silence.

Act 2: The Love War Council Location: Monastery common room.

The ninjas sit in a circle. Lloyd in the middle, like an accused.

Lloyd: "Why are we in a circle?"

Jay: "Because that's how we solve problems. We get in a circle, we talk, and at the end, someone cries."

Kai: "Usually, it's Jay."

Jay: "Not true!"

Nya: "Yes, true."

Zane: "I confirm. Jay cried during 78.4% of our meetings."

Jay: "It was dust!"

Cole: "We're getting off topic. Lloyd, what do you want to say to Harumi?"

Lloyd (taking out a pile of crumpled papers): "I wrote speeches. Thirty-seven. None are good enough."

Nya (taking a paper): " 'Harumi, your eyes shine like the ocean on a moonless night.' … Lloyd, that's very good."

Lloyd: "What if she laughs?"

Kai: "If she laughs, she's dead."

Nya: "KAI!"

Kai: "I'm joking. Well, half joking."

Jay: "I have an unstoppable technique. You look her in the eyes, strike a mysterious pose, and say: 'Harumi, my energy is drawn to yours.' "

Cole: "That's… that's the most embarrassing thing I've ever heard."

Jay: "Tested and approved! Well, no, never tested. But it could work."

Zane: "Probability of success: 6.8%. Probability that Lloyd runs away: 89.2%."

Lloyd: "Why do I listen to you again?"

Nya (standing up): "Because we're your family. Now, Lloyd, you're going to do what I say."

Lloyd: "What?"

Nya: "Nothing."

Lloyd: "Nothing?"

Nya: "Nothing. You're going to go see her, and you're going to say 'Hello.' That's it. No speech. No gift. No teddy bear. Just 'Hello.' "

Cole: "And maybe a cookie. Cookies help."

Lloyd: "A cookie?"

Act 3: First Attempt – The Market Location: Great Ninjago market, afternoon.

Lloyd walks toward the market. Nya follows discreetly. Cole is at the bakery. Kai and Zane observe from a roof. Jay is hiding in a fountain (to "intervene if needed").

Lloyd spots Harumi in front of a flower stall. He approaches. He opens his mouth.

Lloyd: "He… hel… Hell… Happ… uh…"

Harumi turns around. She smiles.

Harumi: "Lloyd! Hello!"

Lloyd: "…lo. Yes. Lo. Good."

He steps back. He hits a fruit stand. Watermelons, apples, oranges collapse. Lloyd slips on a watermelon. He falls into the fountain where Jay is hiding.

Jay (underwater): "HELLO LLOYD!"

Lloyd (soaked, seaweed on his head): "Why are you in the fountain?"

Jay: "I was watching you!"

Harumi (arriving, worried): "Lloyd! Are you okay?"

Lloyd is red. He can't speak. Jay sticks his head out of the water.

Jay: "He's fine! It's a ninja technique! The aquatic watermelon technique!"

Harumi: "… What?"

Lloyd (standing up, dripping): "I… I just wanted to say… nice… weather…"

He runs away. Jay follows him. Nya hides her face in her hands.

Nya: "Unbelievable…"

Act 4: Second Attempt – The Gift Location: Monastery, evening.

Lloyd sits on his bed, a towel on his head. Cole enters with a bowl of dough.

Cole: "The fountain, huh?"

Lloyd: "Don't say anything."

Cole: "I'm not saying anything. I'm just giving you cookie dough. Eating helps."

Lloyd takes the dough. He eats. He cries a little.

Cole: "You know, Lloyd, love is like baking. You fail, you start over. And you eat your failures."

Lloyd: "That's sad what you're saying."

Cole: "That's life. Now, tomorrow, you give her a gift."

Lloyd: "What kind of gift?"

Cole: "Not a teddy bear. That's my advice."

The next day, Lloyd buys a magnificent bouquet of lilies. He walks carefully. He avoids fountains. He avoids fruit stands. He arrives at Harumi's door. He rings.

Harumi opens. She sees the bouquet.

Harumi: "Lloyd… is that for me?"

Lloyd (trembling): "Yes. I mean, no. I mean, yes. I wanted… to give you… flowers… Because… spring… and you… and…"

He holds out the bouquet. His hands shake so much the flowers fall to the ground. He bends down to pick them up. He hits his head on the door. He steps back. He steps on the flowers.

Lloyd: "I'M SORRY!"

He runs away. Again. Harumi watches him leave. She picks up the crushed flowers. She smiles.

Harumi: "He's really special, that one."

Act 5: Crossed Confessions Location: Monastery roof, night.

Nya sits alone, looking at the stars. Jay climbs up silently.

Jay: "Are you avoiding me, Nya?"

Nya: "No. I'm thinking."

Jay: "About what?"

Nya: "About Lloyd. About you. About me. About spring."

Jay sits next to her.

Jay: "I know I'm bad at advice. I know I talk too much. But Nya… I love you. Really."

Nya (silence): "I know, Jay. Me too. But sometimes, love isn't enough. You also need… to understand each other."

Jay: "Then explain to me. I want to understand."

Nya: "Not tonight. We're tired. But… thank you for coming up."

She rests her head on his shoulder. Jay smiles.

Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Cole prepares a cake. He is alone. He talks to himself.

Cole: "Three hundred grams of flour. Two eggs. Sugar. Butter. And… love. Lots of love."

He mixes. He tastes. He adjusts. The cake is perfect. He takes it out of the oven. He looks at it.

Cole: "Who are you destined for, my beautiful cake? Lloyd? Nya? No one?"

He has no answer. He places the cake on the table. He sits down. He waits.

Act 6: The Letter and the Disaster Location: Monastery, next morning.

Lloyd has written a letter. A beautiful letter. He rewrote it ten times. He put it in an envelope. He asks Jay to deliver it.

Lloyd: "Don't open it. I swear, Jay, if you open it…"

Jay: "I'm not opening it! Promise, swear, spit."

Jay leaves. He returns ten minutes later. Lloyd looks at him.

Lloyd: "You opened it."

Jay: "I didn't open it."

Lloyd: "Why do you have ink on your fingers?"

Jay: "… I added a unicorn. For the magical touch."

Lloyd: "JAY!"

Harumi sends a message: "Lloyd, your letter is beautiful. But the unicorn drawing… that was Jay, wasn't it?"

Lloyd: "Yes."

Harumi: "I knew it. Come talk to me. Without a letter. Without a unicorn. Just you."

Lloyd reads the message. He trembles. He looks at Jay.

Lloyd: "She wants to see me."

Jay: "Go!"

Lloyd: "What if I fail?"

Cole (entering with a cake): "You won't fail. Here, take this cake."

Lloyd: "A cake?"

Cole: "A cherry cake. For courage."

Lloyd takes the cake. He goes out.

Act 7: The Resolution – Under the Cherry Tree Location: Under the great cherry tree behind the hill.

Lloyd arrives. Harumi is already there, sitting in the grass. He sits next to her. He places the cake between them.

Lloyd: "I… I don't know what to say."

Harumi: "Then don't say anything."

They stay silent. Petals fall.

Harumi: "Lloyd, I saw all your attempts. The market, the fountain, the bear, the letter…"

Lloyd: "You saw everything?"

Harumi: "Everything. And I found it… adorable."

Lloyd: "Adorable? I slipped on a watermelon."

Harumi (laughing): "Yes. And it was the best part."

Lloyd: "Are you making fun of me?"

Harumi: "No. I'm serious. You're the Green Ninja, Lloyd. You've saved Ninjago dozens of times. And yet, you tremble like a leaf in front of me. That means I matter. And that… touches me."

Lloyd (looking at her): "Harumi… I… I love you."

Harumi: "I know. Me too."

They smile at each other. Lloyd cuts the cake. They eat it together. It's the best cake in the world.

Later, at the monastery.

Everyone is gathered in the courtyard. Cole has prepared cakes for everyone. Nya and Jay sit side by side, hand in hand. Kai laughs with Zane. Lloyd arrives, smiling.

Kai: "So?"

Lloyd: "It worked."

Jay: "VICTORY!"

Nya: "Finally."

Cole: "I made a cake to celebrate."

Zane: "Probability that this cake is edible: 97.4%."

Cole: "That's a compliment."

They all eat together. Cherry petals fall around them. The sun shines.

Dialogue 1 – Lloyd and Nya (advice) Lloyd: "Nya, I have a problem."

Nya: "Just one? You're lucky."

Lloyd: "I can't tell her. Every time I see her, my brain stops."

Nya: "That's normal. It's like that in the beginning."

Lloyd: "And then?"

Nya: "Then you realize that love is mostly about being present. Not making speeches."

Lloyd: "Are you sure?"

Nya: "I'm sure. Now go. And don't listen to Jay."

Dialogue 2 – Cole and Zane (culinary philosophy) Zane: "Cole, why do you add love to the recipe? Love is not a measurable ingredient."

Zane (tasting): "… This cake is delicious. Yet the proportions were mathematically perfect before adding 'love.' "

Cole: "You see, Zane, love changes everything."

Zane: "I will have to analyze this phenomenon in more detail."

Cole: "Take another cookie. It helps."

Jay: "Love takes time, Kai. You wouldn't know."

Kai: "I'm too handsome to be tied down."

Jay: "Or too scared."

Kai: "… I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that."

Dialogue 4 – Lloyd and Harumi (final scene) Harumi: "You know, Lloyd, you don't have to be perfect."

Lloyd: "I know. But I wanted it to be perfect for you."

Harumi: "You slipped on a watermelon, fell into a fountain, showed up with a teddy bear at my door, and wrote a letter with a unicorn drawn by Jay. None of that was perfect."

Lloyd: "I know."

Harumi: "And yet, it was you. The real you. And that's what I love."

Lloyd: "You love the real me?"

Harumi: "Yes. Even with the watermelons. Especially with the watermelons."

Lloyd (smiling): "I love you, Harumi."

Harumi: "I know. Me too."
