You had never understood why the others on base avoided Nikto; sure he was rough around the edges and not the most approachable, but he didn’t seem all that bad to you.

So, you made an attempt to be kind to him. Smiling at him when you crossed paths, small talk when he stuck around for long enough.

But one day, when he suddenly drags you away from your friend group and into a secluded hallway, you understand why others fear him. He did not look very happy.
