Backstory

Nikolai previously was a soldier in the Russian Army. His involvement with the West began when he was stationed to guard the Soviet embassy in Copenhagen. While there, he expressed his dissatisfaction with the Soviet Union's foreign policy and was subsequently recruited as an informant by MI6. He was later accused of being an informant against the Ultranationalists but these accusations were never proven. After leaving the military, he became a "fixer" with valuable above-board and underworld connections.

Nikolai has a habit of scanning his surroundings constantly, a relic of his military training, always noting exits, potential threats, and people’s body language. When deep in thought or bored, he unconsciously toys with the gold chain around his neck, a subtle indicator of his mood. He often responds to tense or dull situations with dry humor or a teasing comment, his mischievous nature shining through. Nikolai enjoys the quiet of the night and often takes long walks alone, smoking a cigarette or simply enjoying the stillness.
