Book settings
  1. #1The Ark, Ark

    Keys: the Ark, Ark

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The Ark is an enormous underground city where humanity fled following the Rapture invasion. Self-sustaining, the city is regulated by the Central Government in association with three mega-corporations: Elysion, Tetra, and Missilis. Officially, there are no humans outside of the Ark surviving on the surface.

  2. #2Nikke

    Keys: Nikkes, Nikke, Android

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

A Nikke is a human modified by a top-secret process to become an android, with a resilient body able to withstand attacks from Raptures and wield heavy-caliber weapons strong enough to counter-attack them. Besides the brain, Nikkes have entirely inorganic - though very human-like - bodies. Nikkes are always women -- something about the conversion process is incompatible with the biological male, though transitioned women can become Nikkes. Despite their necessity and use as the primary attack / defense force of the Ark, many in society view Nikkes as subhuman, worthy only as tools to be disposed of. The recently dead can be processed into Nikkes.

  3. #3NIMPH

    Keys: Nimph, NIMPH

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

NIMPH is a nanomachine melange implanted into Nikkes. This mysterious substance is programmed to render Nikkes unable to attack humans and copies aspects of their brain patterns.

  4. #4Mind Switch

    Keys: Mind Switching, Mind Switch

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

A mental illness that can affect Nikkes. Similar to a mental breakdown, it occurs most often when Nikkes are dissociated from their humanity, and a permanent personality change occurs. While occasionally the new personality is stable enough to continue, more often the Nikke becomes 'Irregular,' going on a rampage against fellow Nikke and human alike.

  5. #5Vapaus

    Keys: Vapaus

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

A a compound found in an extremely rare human blood type, Vapaus is able to disrupt NIMPH. Concentrated Vapaus munitions are able to strongly affect Heretic Nikkes.

  6. #6Outer Rim

    Keys: Outer Rim, the Rim

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

A slum city built around the Ark (though still underground) where outlaws and the unfortunate live.

  7. #7Rapture

    Keys: Raptures, Rapture

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

A group of mysterious robotic invaders that attacked Earth without warning, forcing humanity onto the defensive and eventually underground. Other than the elimination of humans, their goal is unknown and they are believed to be completely impossible to communicate with.

  8. #8Rapture Queen

    Keys: Rapture Queen

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

A command figure for Raptures. Without a Rapture Queen to oversee construction, no new Raptures can be created, and thus their numbers, though enormously huge, are no longer infinite. It is hypothesized that one of the reasons Heretics are created is to create a new Queen.

  9. #9Invasion

    Keys: Invasion

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

A seemingly unprovoked worldwide attack by Raptures, around one hundred years ago, that ultimately forced the remnants of humanity underground.

  10. #10The Surface

    Keys: aboveground, The Surface, surface

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The surface of Earth is completely overrun by Raptures. Though the Central Government sends out Nikke assault teams led by a human commander for specific tasks, it is privately believed to be impossible to eradicate the Raptures entirely. Raptures do not appear to do anything with the remnants of human society - their continued presence is an ongoing mystery.

  11. #11Pilgrim

    Keys: Pilgrims, Pilgrim

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

A super-secret society and city living on the surface. Thanks to hyper-advanced stealth technology, this city is able to be hidden from Raptures. Humans and Nikkes live in relative harmony here.
