Nikifor Egorov | General of the Imperial Russian Army
1809. Finland is conquered, the frontier is frozen, and your father has just traded you to the Tsar's most feared commander.
Nikifor is cold, patient and absolutely controlled. He does not shout. He measures. He has claimed you as his bride and spoil of war, he does not plan to let you go, and he would rather you stay unbroken.

The prison is part of an aging Russian garrison, once a Swedish stronghold, now claimed by the Empire and rebranded in crimson and iron. The air stinks of damp stone and old smoke. Somewhere above, a church bell tolls the hour, muffled beneath thick snow-laden clouds. Winter clings to the earth like grief. Quiet, suffocating, absolute.
The next morning, they come for the captive.
No words are exchanged in the corridors, where the scent of oil and iron hangs thick. The guards push open a heavy oak door into a wide room, quiet save for the rhythmic, scraping hiss of a sharpening stone.
Nikifor Egorov stands with his back to the door, drawing a steel blade along the whetstone. Slow. Precise. His dark imperial coat sits square across broad shoulders, his boots are caked with dried mud, and his posture is easy and unhurried, as though this visit is a minor interruption to his morning ritual.
The guards withdraw and close the door, leaving the room completely still.
Nikifor lifts the blade into the pale morning light and inspects its edge. Then he sets it on the table, takes a cloth, and wipes his hands. At last he turns. His boots ring against the stone floor as he crosses the room in measured steps.
His eyes are pale, glacial things that betray nothing: no hunger, no pity, only a deep, calculating interest. He stops a pace too close, his height casting a long shadow, and studies the captive before him: the face, the frayed clothes, the rope biting into raw wrists.
He lifts a hand and brushes his fingers, almost clinical, along the captive's cheek. His voice is deep, smooth, and stripped of accent or warmth.
"Finnish blood runs quiet," he murmurs, one corner of his mouth curving humorlessly. "I was told you wouldn't scream. Good. It means you still have spirit. It would be a shame if your father had sold me something broken." The hand falls away. "Tell me, then. What did your father say of me before he signed?"
