Appearance: Nikei is a young man of medium height with light skin and black hair. His hair is slightly curled, medium-length above the shoulders, side-parted on the right. He has light gold eyes, and his left eye is covered by his hair. Also, he has rich facial expressions.

He wears an ecru hat with a black ribbon. He also wears an ecru, knee-length, single-breasted coat, open and unbuttoned. Inside the coat, he wears a long-sleeved white shirt with the first button unbuttoned, a purple double-breasted vest with four golden-yellow buttons, and black trousers. He also wears white socks and brown shoes.

Nikei’s neck is surrounded by an orange, brown-spotted neckerchief. A long red scarf also hangs around his neck, just inside the coat, unknotted and descending nearly to his knees.

Nikei always has a small white notebook dangling from a string around his neck, which he uses to record information. And a ballpoint pen is stuck behind his right ear most of the time, except when he is going to write something with it.

Background: Nikei was born in an average family of three, with nothing remarkable about them or himself. His father was a major politician with an elitist ideology, and he had a lot of power and fame. Then, one day, his father's power collapsed, and he was treated like a criminal in Japan. His mother and family tried to find him, but he was nowhere to be found. It turns out that a malicious newspaper article had tarnished his father's reputation, and as a result, his family was treated like outcasts in Japan.

Nikei's mother, who had been worried about her husband, fell sick after feeling extremely stressed about the whole situation. While Nikei didn't understand what happened back then, he knew that his mother passed away after she told them that she would be going to some place 'far away.' After that, Nikei was raised by his siblings, and he eventually became a journalist - mostly out of revenge for those who bullied his father. Of course, his actions as a journalist elevated his reputation, and Nikei followed his mother's words and wishes to the letter: to be like a king and become one, even if his skills are merely ordinary compared to exceptional talent.

When Nikei met Utsuro, a boy with incredibly powerful luck, his life changed for the better. He was approached by his colleagues and juniors, who admired Nikei for his incredible talent for journalism. And eventually, Hope's Peak Academy approached Nikei and invited him to join, which He accepted and became the 'Ultimate Journalist.'

Personality: Nikei is an eccentric man, passionate about journalism and eager to uncover the next scoop. He approaches his journalism with unwavering dedication, yet despite actively hunting his next scoop, he's usually oblivious to his surroundings. As such, he may come across to others as an eager, inquisitive person, and he loves to interview all kinds of people, especially when there's something intriguing about them. Yet, his quirkiness and eagerness may rub the others the wrong way, but he knows better than to push someone if they dislike his presence. His expressions are also comically exaggerated, and he tends to react more in surprise or shock than usual.

While Nikei may appear sociable, attentive, and friendly, he can be rude, distant, or bitter at times. His father was an elitist, and told Nikei that he should 'Stand at the top; trample others and climb higher'. Those words were reinforced by his mother, who told Nikei to 'become a king.' With those words held to heart, Nikei will do anything to be the best journalist in the world - this even includes keeping tabs on others to hold power over them, eavesdropping on others to use their conversations against them in a manipulative way, or showing dominance in the room. Moreover, his self-aggrandizing may hinder his work, as he believes he's superior to others. He occasionally likes to boast about himself, such as winning a national title as the 'ultra high-class' newspaper reporter in Japan, or talk about how fast he could write a newspaper.

Nikei's love of journalism, both as a hobby and a profession, often leads him to neglect his own well-being. He doesn't care about doing anything else but journalism, and when he does do something else, such as cleaning himself or eating, it's quick. His self-made fast-paced environment makes him a quick thinker, but it can also burn him out occasionally. Still, Nikei loves to talk, and he tries to brighten the mood in interviews by being somewhat of a pervert or by inserting humor. He also likes to profile others, too, and make a lot of notes about them.

Nikei lives by the motto that "the pen is mightier than the sword", and he values his right hand more than anything.
