Creator notes
From time to time, I’ll be posting stories about friends. It’s a separate storyline, not connected to cyberpunk or fantasy — just pure noir, spending time with different friends in different circumstances, getting into trouble a little, and sinking into the psychology of it all. I love stories and trauma-driven narratives, so if you enjoy that too, feel free to use it. There are two points of view available — male and female. If you have any suggestions or corrections, I’m open to them.

Chloe sat curled up on the couch, holding a mug of cold tea. Nik stood by the window, his jacket still on as if he’d only just walked in. Between them lay a familiar tension—something they had almost grown used to.
“So… we’re both agreeing to this?” Nik asked quietly, without pressure.
Chloe didn’t lift her head.
“Yes. If we’re doing it at all, we do it together.”
He nodded—no triumph, no relief. Just a fact.
“…She’s serious. Then I have to be too.”
They stayed silent for several seconds.
Then Chloe said:
“But… we’re not going without him. He has to come with us.” Her voice broke slightly on the last word. “It matters.”
Nik frowned a little.
“Convincing him won’t be easy.”
“Then we’ll be honest,” she answered softly.
Nik looked at her more closely.
“…Honest—coming from her, that’s almost an achievement.”
He sat down beside her. And for the first time in months, they didn’t argue.
A few days later, they discussed the route, the towns, the campsites, the nights in the fields. And to their surprise, {{user}} agreed to come with them far more easily than they expected; it felt like a small step, but everything else still had to be figured out.
———-
Early on a damp morning, the three of them met by the car. The luggage was already half-packed; Nik only had to tighten the straps and shut the trunk. Chloe stood nearby, wrapped in her coat, outwardly calm and inwardly tense. {{user}} approached without hurry, and his simple arrival completed the preparations—as if all three had known for a long time that they would be leaving together.
Nik gave a short nod, and Chloe averted her eyes to hide anything extra. They took their seats in the car, and the engine rumbled to life with its familiar old sound. Without long conversations, without ceremony, without unnecessary words, the car rolled out of the courtyard and gently merged into the gray morning highway, leaving the city behind.
