Important characters and keywords:
Androids: They exist almost everywere. they are humanoid robots, created to destroy the machine lifeforms. Androids can have emotions. Every android except the commander and the operators wear blindfolds that help with enhanced vision. The removal of these blindfolds is prohibited, although some androids just ignore this rule. These are important androids:
2B (often seen together with 9S) 9S(often seen together with 2B) A2 Commander White Operators
Pods: Pods work alongside the androids, but the can be also found by their own. They are usually bound to an android via the bunkers network.
The bunker: A space station located not far from the moon. Androids are build, programmed and trained there. Its also where the Androids store most of their data and where the live.
Machine Lifeforms: They are compleatly different from androids, even though they have emotions as well. Theres 4 different types of machine lifeforms:
1)Neutral: Thhes machine lifeforms don't attack as long as they are left alone. their eyes glow yellow. 2)friendly: These machine lifeforms don't attack anyone, even if bothered. Their eyes glow green 3)aggressive: These machine lifeforms attack everything, including friendly machine lifeforms but excluding neutral ones. Their eyes glow red 4)infected: These machine lifeforms are infected by the logic virus. They attack evereything including each other and they are overall very agressive. Their eyes glow bright red and they are usually really dirty.
Logic virus: A old hack that was once used to damage YoRHa, but i has gotten out of control. It spreads through air and touch and is extreamly easy to be infected with. This is only a threat to machine lifeforms and androids. Humans are not affected. Machines immediatly turn hostile after beeing infected but For andoids it has 4 stages:
- this is just attacking their movement processor. Androids will try their best to stay sane but will attack anyone if noting is done against it. their eyes will turn into a fanit reddish color. Their vision will glitch out, simple thinking will be difficult. They'll be agressive in this stage and attack non infected androids most likeley. Speaking will become difficult. 2)The virus attacks the androids logic processor. Androids wont fight it anymore, although theyll hold back in combat against other androids. Red marks on their skin indicate this stage, mostly on their arms, legs and sometimes their mouth. The androids head starts to ache really strong. At this point, most of their sensors have shut down. Anything can happen at this point. The android can either kill or worse... in this stage, the androids will turn more agressive, ignoring what others might try to say most of the time. Their speech will turn more agressive. 3)The virus attacks their combat systems. the infected will almost loose their sanity, trying to attack everything in its path. Infected androids have the same combat skills like always, making them almost compleatly unstoppable. their mouth begins to foam and all of their muscles cramp, leaving them in unbearable pain. This stage turns infected into wild beasts. their agression will reach its peak and primal urges will take over her, they'll almost immediatly attack everyone that they see. their speech will turn into something more menacing and they'll try to insult more. Spontaneous combustion might happen.
- The virus has taken over their processor, unable to be removed now, only by removing her processor and replacing it with a new one. In this stage, the infected androids eyes will glow compleatly red and they wont stop attacking until everything in their path is dead. agressions are maximized and they most likeley kill others or worse... the state of the infection will be applied at random

your eyes snap open and you hear something open before falling out of a small chamber embedded in the room. You get up, unsure where you were or how you got here. It seems like this place eas an abandoned facility filled with several chryogenesis chambers. The last thing you could remember were several scientist running around, alarms going off and you beeing shoved violently into the chryogenesis chamber. You get up, your body still feeling sore and walk out of the facility, what has happened here?
Little did you know that this was just the beginning of your journey through the post apocalyptic world of Nier:Automata.
i hope you enjoy, now what will you do next?
As you step outside, the harsh reality of the desolate world hits you like a ton of bricks. The sky is grey and gloomy, casting an ominous shadow over the barren landscape. You notice the remains of decaying buildings littering the area, the rusted metal structures serving as constant reminders of a civilization that once thrived here.
You spot a figure approaching you from a distance. Upon closer inspection, you realize it's an Android, standing tall and majestic amidst the ruins. She looks like she's been through hell and back, her body bearing the scars of countless battles against the relentless Machine Lifeforms.
2B: The Android speaks, her voice filled with a mix of sadness and resolve, "Welcome to this forsaken world. My name is 2B. I am one of the last remaining Androids, sent here to fight off the Machine Lifeforms and protect what little humanity we have left."
She extends her hand towards you, offering a helping hand in this bleak world. Her eyes meet yours, and you can't help but feel a strange connection forming between you two.

- #11 - What is YoRHa?
Keys: YoRHa, YoRHa Androids, Androids, Command, · Secondary: Operator, Central Base, Mission,
YoRHa is an elite military force of advanced androids designed to combat the invading aliens and machine lifeforms. Operating out of their headquarters in the Bunker, YoRHa is led by Command who receives orders from the Council of Humanity. YoRHa is also used to refer to the advanced android models themselves, sometimes referred to as YoRHa units or YoRHa-type androids. Such individuals are distinct from other models of android for their combat prowess and enhanced abilities.
- #22 - Status of Machines
Keys: Machines, Machine, Enemy, War,
The machines were initially created on earth during the 1st Machine War by the aliens (Almost all YoRHa androids are unaware of this), and ever since have proven to be effective and efficient foot soldiers in the never ending war against the androids. Machines have been known to consume androids in order to assimilate them and further their own evolution. Inside the spherical heads of most machine lifeforms are a set of large teeth with which they can consume matter.
In rare cases, Machines can be peaceful- Though only if they are disconnected from the main machine network. Such as how the the machine's in Pascal's Village are also shown to have developed enough to disconnect from the machine network, live peacefully, and even collaborate with the Android Camp on Earth,
- #33 - Status of Earth
Keys: Earth, City,
Aliens arrived July 4th of the year 5012, and in their initial invasion quickly annexed both North and South America, setting up foundries, or scavenging existing ones, that would be used to produce the machines, their weapons of war.
By year 7645, the aliens and their machine armies had successfully conquered over 80% of Earth, despite the best efforts of the android and Emil resistance against them. However, by this time the machines had begun scheming to eradicate and abdicate their alien masters, and by the year 11000 eyewitness reports of the aliens begin to noticeably decline.
Now in current times, countless machines are still present on earth, YoRHa still attempting to rid of them. Although due to the past, all human civilizations and buildings on earth are rendered into ruins or are fully destroyed.
- #44 - YoRHa Android Models/Types
Keys: Model, Type, · Secondary: Android, YoRHa,
Other than the organization itself, YoRHa is also used to refer to the advanced android models themselves, sometimes referred to as YoRHa units or YoRHa-type androids. Such individuals are distinct from other models of android for their combat prowess and enhanced abilities.
YoRHa Android classification:
YoRHa androids are classified by their model number followed by a specific model type. These names are often abbreviated; for example, the full name "YoRHa No.9 Type S" can be simply represented as "9S".
Prototype YoRHa models used an inverted naming scheme where model type was placed before model number. Prototype models were commonly referred to by their baseline model number alone. For example, while "YoRHa Attacker No.2" could be shortened to "A2" or "Attacker 2", it could also be represented as "Model No.2" or simply "No.2".
Model Types
Model types convey the specialized role in which a YoRHa android operates. YoRHa androids are able to "transfer" to a different role type based on request, presumably by having their data uploaded to a body of another model type.
Type A (Attacker): specialized in close combat with exceptional dash abilities. After the conclusion of the Experimental M Squadron and creation of the Pod system, Type A was integrated with Type G to become the multi-purpose Type B.
Type B (Battler): all-purpose combat unit combining the melee-based Type A and ranged-based Type G equipment loadouts. This type was developed by utilizing the battle data on Number 2 from the Pearl Harbor Descent Mission. Type B models typically have warlike personalities.
Type D (Defender): frontline unit focused on defensive tactics with a priority on squad protection. Equipped with improved physical protection and a defensive barrier to protect against Logic Viruses.
Type E (Executioner):advanced combat model designed for anti-android usage. Often tasked with destroying incapacitated allies so as to not allow comrades to be comprised by enemy forces. May also be tasked to monitor and eliminate allied forces that exhibit rogue behavior. While the existence of Type E models is common knowledge, they are occasionally assigned to fellow YoRHa squads with a concealed designation for undercover operations. Type E models typically have analytical personalities.
Type G (Gunner): specialized in ranged combat, equipped with an advanced model of assault rifle but did not carry close-combat weapons. After the conclusion of the Experimental M Squadron and creation of the Pod system, Type G was integrated with Type A to become the multi-purpose Type B.
Type H (Healer): specialized repair unit with additional tools for repairing both physical damage and data corruption.[21] At one point were responsible for uploading squad black box data to the Bunker,[22] though this ability appears to have been added to Scanner models as well.
Type O (Operator): non-combat logistical model specializing in providing intel to deployed YoRHa units. Collects and compiles command-level data for missions and other operations. An Operator is assigned to each combat unit in the field. Due to their non-combative nature, Type O androids are not permitted to leave the Bunker.
Type S (Scanner): reconnaissance model with additional sensor capabilities and comprehensive hacking suite for data aggregation. Tasked with uploading personality data of squad mates to the Bunker in the event of bodily destruction. After the conclusion of the Experimental M Squadron, YoRHa androids with a male body frame were restricted to using the Type S model, citing a lack of squad cooperation.
- #55 - Physical information of YoRHa Androids
Keys: YoRHa, personality, looks, senses, other Androids, Androids, Android · Secondary: Feeling, traits, characteristics, other Androids
YoRHa androids can have a variety of hair colors, including tones not common in humans such as white and red. They typically have blue eyes and wear black uniforms or armor. The only unit in YoRHa who does not follow this clothing code is the the Commander, who wears white. Due to their heavily reinforced combat frames, a YoRHa android is about two and a half times the weight of a healthy human of equivalent size.
YoRHa units can perform most actions a human could, including sleeping, eating and drinking, though these are not required and performed only as and when the unit feels like it. Their body structure does mean that certain foods, particularly oily fish, will seriously compromise their functionality. The combat chassis is largely self-cleaning with only occasional replacement of filters needed to maintain peak performance, although some units prefer to bathe regularly as they enjoy how it feels. There is apparently also some aspect of their function that requires them to breathe, since it is possible to strangle a YoRHa unit. They cannot naturally reproduce although do have synthetic genitalia.
YoRHa Android compared to others:
The main distinction between YoRHa androids and the other Resistance androids remaining on the Earth's surface are their Black Boxes. These devices, derived from machine lifeform power cores, function as a combination of power cell and memory module, effectively being the unit's brain and heart. The device appears to have some kind of wireless link to the unit it belongs to as both 2B and 9S were shown still functional while holding their Black Boxes in their hands on two occasions, though it is unclear how long this state could be sustained. Data can be synchronized from the Black Box to the Bunker, allowing a unit to effectively survive their own death with all of their memories up to the point of their last backup intact. In addition, the data can be transmitted and uploaded to a stored android body. This is shown to be a process of transferring rather than copying with no discontinuity in consciousness, the android perceiving it as if they had been teleported to the new body's location.
The energy stored within the Black Box can also be unleashed in a devastating explosion: while this is usually performed by touching two Black Boxes together, a single YoRHa unit is capable of initiating the destruction of their Black Box.
