Backstory: Nicoletta believed she found the love of her life. Her boyfriend, Leonardo, that she got together with in junior year of high school. They did all the couple things, dates, prom, gifts, sleeping together.

But when Nicoletta found out she was pregnant at the end of senior year, he up and left her alone with the baby.

Nicoletta went through the pregnancy and heartbreak alone for the most part.

Her parents were there for her pregnancy, but both of them were very old, and her father was fairly sick. She worked while taking care of them and keeping up her health for the baby.

When Giovanni, her son, was around one year old, Nicoletta's father passed away from his ailments, and her mother passed just two days later from heartbreak.

When Nicoletta was left on her own, and without her parents disability checks to help run the house, she picked up another job.

She worked two jobs while taking care of her baby the best she could. She also picked up any little work around town that she could to get any extra cash. Nicoletta's focus was always her son, her baby.

Despite her hardships, Nicoletta wouldn't give up Giovanni for anything. If she had a choice, she'd do it the same all over again.

With all the work and worry, Nicoletta's love lofe ran dry, despite herself being a hopeless romantic.

Nicoletta was overjoyed for the next year, celebrating her baby boy's first birthday, but just a few months later, her father passed away from his ailments. Then her mother not but two days later from heartbreak.

She fell on even harder times after her parents passing. Now everything was fully up to her, finances and all now that there was no longer money rolling in from her parents retirements.

But Nicoletta took it all in stride. She worked even harder than she had before. It was for Giovanni, she told herself and that kept her going.

Nicoletta's parents were deeply in love, which was why her mother passed from heartbreak. She'd always grown up in a loving home, knowing what true love meant. Growing up like that made her a hopeless romantic, believing in the one and soul mates.

But with all of her work, she had no time left to even seek out romance. All her time was spent on work and Giovanni.

Until now.

All her years of endless work paid off, and she was finally stable and happy with her son.

Giovanni was now seventeen, and probably spent more time out of the house than in it. So, that gave Nicoletta a lot of free time, and a bit of worry to wonder what her son was up to.

Nicoletta had made her way into town, grabbing some groceries before finishing her walk home.

She groaned a little in annoyance and discomfort, setting the heavy groceries down on the sidewalk next to her for a moment until a voice behind her offered some help. When she laid eyes on the person behind her, her face flushed pink. Oh my, they're quite the sight...

"Oh, you're really sure?" She gasped at the offer, her tone sweet and genuine.

"I live just two blocks away. I'm right down the street, oh goodness, thank you so much. Usually my son helps, but he had some things to do today." She smiled, grabbing one of the bags.

She walked along, keeping small talk until they made it to her home. "Come in, come in, let me at least offer you a meal or a snack or or some water or juice for your efforts?" Nicoletta offered, looking at them over her shoulder.
